"Well this kinda sucks." you whispered as you Izuku and Shoji watched Dark Shadow rip apart the forest chucking trees around trying to find you. "Death by flying tree sounds pretty painful."

Izuku watched in horror "How did he get this way!"

"Keep it down," Shoji instructed, waiting to see if you were noticed before continuing "After Mandalay told us what was happening and that we shouldn't engage we were both on high alert, but still, one of the villains came out of nowhere. I ran for the bushes and tried to cover Tokoyami but one of my arms was cut off."

You glanced down at his arm which was bleeding profusely and grimaced. Shoji noticed your reaction sent you what you assumed to be a smile, you couldn't really tell because of the mask.

"It looks bad but it was only a duplicate that was cut off so it'll grow back."

"You're still bleeding though." you said ripping your already torn shirt and tying it around his bloody arm before he could protest. "It's not a perfect solution but it will keep you from bleeding out. I can't have you dying on me now can I?"

You expected some kind of response so when you were met with silence you looked up only to see him staring right back at you. His eyes were wide and he seemed to be in shock.

"Shoji? Did I break you?" you asked, waving your hand in front of his face.

Luckily that seemed to bring him back to life "Sorry... I just..." he looked away, his cheeks flaring red, and placed one of his hands on your head "Thank you Y/n."

"Uh guys maybe we should focus on our current situation." Izuku cut in, his voice sounding strangely hostile.

"That might be a good idea," you agreed ducking under a branch that was sent hurtling towards your head "What happened after your hand was... removed?"

Shoji cleared his throat "Tokoyami couldn't stand seeing me injured like that, the quirk he'd been suppressing began to rage and take over."

Yeah, no kidding

Dark Shadow suddenly ripped the tree you were taking sheltered behind out of the ground exposing your group. You dove to the left while Shoji went right with Izuku still on his back.

"Leave me!" Tokoyami roared "Go help our other classmates instead!"

You and Shoji made eye contact across the clearing Dark Shadow had created, there was no way you were leaving him behind.

Okay we just need a plan, if we can get Fumikage somewhere with a light source it should calm Dark Shadow down and then we can go back to finding Katsuki. We just need a way for him to follow us... oh I've got a really bad idea...Perfect!

You tightened your ankle braces, fully ready for the most agonizing minutes of your life and then you glanced at the two boys in front of you.

"Stay ahead! Tell me when we get near something that'll help!" you yelled getting both their attention and the attention of Dark Shadow

Alright, let's do this.

You stepped out of your hiding place waving your arms in the air "Hey Dark Shadow I'm over here!"

"Y/n!?" Fumikage stared at you in disbelief as his quirk jolted forward taking him with it.

You started sprinting making sure to keep a fair distance away from your friend's quirk, trying your best not to run into a tree.

"What are you doing?!" Shoji exclaimed

"Y/n! Don't it's too dangerous!" Izuku yelled, understanding what your plan was

"Yeah I know, but it's too late for that now, just find a light source. I can't keep this up or long!" you yelled back, stumbling over a root. You knew you weren't suited to be running in your condition but you didn't have a choice.

Shoji quickly caught up with Izuku on his back and pulled slightly ahead of you to scout out any lights or people that could help.

"So... Fumikage how are you holding up?!" you asked, directing your question at your friend behind you, trying to distract him from the situations and distract yourself from the immeasurable pain in your legs.

"Please, just get out of here you'll die!"

"That's nice, I'm doing okay-shit" you stumbled but kept going "Little sore little tired but overall fine."

"Y/n please! I can't see you get killed!"

You flinched at the anguish in his voice but continued leading him, you knew you wouldn't be killed by Dark Shadow.

"I'm not scared of you Fumikage, or you Dark Shadow, we're all going to be fine."

When you had trained with Fumikage, Dark Shadow had come at you just like he was now, but even when he was right up beside you he didn't try and hurt you. You were hoping that even though he was much more out of control, he would still recognize you. However, you didn't know if it would be the same for Shoji and Izuku so you sent them ahead and used yourself as the bait.

"Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow." you muttered under your breath, each step was more painful then the last and you could feel yourself slowing down.

"Y/n up here!" Shoji waved his arms from up ahead "Can one of you give us some light!"

You looked towards where Shoji was standing and sighed in relief, both Shoto and Katsuki were standing in a clearing, staring in shock at the giant monster raging behind you.

"Are you guys okay!?" you asked running into the clearing "Katsuki did you hear about-"

"Y/n!?" they both gaped at you and your injuries.

"Yes yes I know I look fabulous now please do something about Fumikag- hey!"

You just narrowly dodged what looked to be a super long blade, you whipped your head around and saw a man wearing constricting clothes from a mental hospital, with long blades coming out of his mouth like extended teeth.

"Be careful Y/n, that's the villain we've been fighting!" Shoto warned you his voice laced with panic

"Lovely, lucky me." you groaned feeling something hot and sticky running down your cheek, you whipped it with your hand only to find that it was blood dripping from the shallow cut caused by the villain.

Wonderful

"Y/n!" a voice a lot deeper and louder than anything you'd ever heard roared from behind you. You slowly turned around to see Dark Shadow directing it's furious gaze at the villain "You insignificant fool! You dare to touch her!"

"I'll just stand over here..." you quickly got out of the way just as Dark Shadow grabbed the villain and crushed him in it's hand before sending his unconscious body flying into a tree.

Dayyyyyyyyym that's going to hurt in the morning.

Taking advantage of the distraction, both Shoto and Katsuki used their quirks to cause Dark Shadow to dissipate, leaving Fumikage breathing heavily on the ground. The moment Tokoyami was free you slumped onto the ground as well, you couldn't keep holding yourself up.

My ankles are definitely broken now, this day just keeps getting better.

"Y/n, are you alright?" Shoto ran up to you looking in worry at your injuries offering a hand to help you up but you waved him off.

"What happened to you." Katsuki scoffed but you could tell he was just as worried as Shoto.

"Jeez do I really look that messed up?" you huffed

"Yes." they replied in unison

"Tokoyami, Y/n, are you okay?" Shoji asked running up to the four of you

You nodded, "I'm fine."

"Y/n, Shoji, Midoriya, I'm so sorry." Tokoyami stared down at his hands "I'm still so immature, anger consumed me and I let my quirk take over. The influence of the darkness combined with my anger spurred Dark Shadow into a frenzy until it got so strong I couldn't contain it and ended up hurting Shoji, if it weren't for you Y/n I would still be on a rampage or worse have ended up hurting both Shoji and Midoriya. I am forever in your debt."

"Don't sweat it Fumikage, we all have our rough spots it was a... learning experience, I'm sure Shoji and Izuku agree." you looked towards the two boys and they both nodded.

Fumikage looked over at you shocked that you could forgive him so easily "Y/n...thank you."

You smiled at him and then turned to Katuski "Now that's that's out of the way, Kat, the villains are after you, which is sort of weird because... why... but that's what it is."

"They're after Bakugo? But why?" Fumikage brushed himself off and got up

"I'm not sure," Izuku said "But we should get to camp, it's the safest place to be because our teachers are there, and they are pro heroes."

"We can't let our favorite cinnamon roll Kat get hurt." you giggled while he just glared at you

"I understand, so our mission is to get Bakugo back to camp while serving as his protectors." Fumikage clarified "We don't know how many villains there are, we might come across one suddenly."

"We can use Shoji's search ability and Todoroki's freezing power," Izuku speculated "If your okay with it Tokoyami, we can always use Dark Shadow now that we can control him and Y/n can be our main form of defense because of how adaptable her quirk is. With this group we could probably go up against All Might."

You felt a pang of guilt, in your condition you couldn't even walk much less protect your group from villains.

I have to tell them don't I, ugh

"Uhm actually guys" you sighed "Don't hate me for lying but... my ankles are definitely broken so I don't know how much help I'll be."

...

"WHAT!?"

Oh... that was a bad idea

"Are you kidding Y/n! How have you been running!?" Izuku was the first to speak up.

"Well they were only fractured after our fight with that villain so I thought I could hold out but... nah."

"Y/n, how could you be so irresponsible!" Shoto glared at you

Katsuki threw his hands up in the air "What the hell were you thinking Y/n!?"

"What was I supposed to do!?" you suddenly got defensive, you didn't have the patience to be yelled at "There was no other option! The only thing I could do in order to keep people safe was to keep going."

The five boys stayed silent but you could tell their opinions hadn't changed.

"We just need to get everyone back safely, we can argue later," Shoji said calmly but he couldn't make eye contact with you either.

You sighed knowing he was right "Katsuki, stay in the middle, Fumikage, watch the back, Shoji you're in front I can wal-"

"I'll carry Y/n." Shoto interrupted you

"Like hell you will!" Katsuki growled

You groaned at Katsukis childish behavior "Yes, like hell he will, it makes sense now lets go."

Why is this so comfortable?

You used to get piggybacks from Shoto all the time when you were younger but you must have forgotten how comfy it was. He held you gently so as to not aggravate your injuries but you gripped onto him tightly so you wouldn't fall. He smelt like forest and soap and his hair lightly tickled your face every time he took a step.

I wish I could do this more often.

The idea made your heart flutter

What's wrong with me? I must be getting sick.

"Uraraka!?" Izuku suddenly yelled

You were snapped out of your inner thoughts and looked ahead of you just in time to see a girl with blond hair running off into the forest, leaving behind Uraraka who had a shallow gash in her arm and a worried looking Tsu.

"Who was that girl just now?" Shoto asked, gripping tightly to your legs and running up to them.

"A villain, and crazy one at that." Tsu answered

"They're all crazy." You shifted around trying to get a better look at them "Are you two okay?"

"You look hurt, Uraraka!" Izuku clarified your suspicion

"I'm fine, it's just a cut. Y/n, Izuku you two-"

"We can't stand here and talk." Shoji insisted "We've got to move."

Izuku nodded "Come on, join our group, we're heading back to camp and protecting Kacchan, we could use your help!"

Tsu put a finger to her chin "If you're protecting Bakugo shouldn't he be standing here with you guys?"

"No way." you whipped your head around desperately hoping to see Katsuki standing there, but there was nobody. "Oh no... oh no... OH SHIT WE LOST HIM!"

"It's a cool trick isn't it." Everyone looked up to where the new voice was coming from to see a man in a yellow coat and a mask standing up in a tree "I took the lad you're talking about with my magic."

"Thanks for sharing, now you can return him." you growled

Calm down Y/n, you need to stay focused

"Apologies but no can do, a talent like his would be squandered if he was to become a hero." The man said tossing a marble in the air "We'll provide him with a grander stage where he can truly shine."

"Um Sir, he's not Aoyama-"

"GIVE HIM BACK!" Izuku demanded

"Give him back? What an odd thing to say. Bakugo doesn't belong to anyone, he's his own person, don't be so arrogant." The villain laughed

"We'll stop you!" Izuku yelled as Shoto blasted him with ice while still holding onto you

"Weeeeeee." you mumbled as you were jolted around

The villain dodged the attack easily "Why the aggression? We merely wish to show him other options rather than the world of heroism he's drowning in. It's important to choose a path that aligns with your core values after all. In fact there was a girl who I was also supposed to obtain but alas she is in a position that makes it very hard to use my magic so it'll have to wait."

Is someone else in danger!?

Shoji looked around frantically "It's not just Bakugo! Tokoyami is gone too!"

You could feel rage and fear bubbling up inside of you.

I can't lose anyone else... I can't

You smiled politely at the villain "Excuse me Sir, but why are you SNATCHING UP my friends because I will DROP KICK you off a cliff if you don't bring them back."

"Now now, that doesn't sound like a future hero talking Y/n." he scolded you

"WHAT DID YOU-"

"You know Y/n, it's a bad habit of mine really, improvising that is, I was once an entertainer you know."

Wait, did he just say my name?

"After seeing Tokoyami take down Moonfish, the man with the Blade-Tooth I thought he would be good too, a replacement for the girl I couldn't capture, although he's not quite at the same level."

"YOU BASTARD!" Izuku screamed "YOU CAN'T TAKE THEM!"

"Midoriya calm down." Shoto instructed "Y/n hold on tight."

"What? Why-eeeeeeeeee!"

Shoto ran forward blasting a huge amount of ice towards the villain, an attack that would freeze anybody in their tracks.

"Apologies but escapism and slight of hand are my specialties not combat. I'm not foolish enough to fight hero candidates from U.A." The villain had somehow dodged Shoto's massive attack and was flying through the air "Vanguard action squad, I've acquired one of our targets, but I believe it's time for this adventure to come to a close, meet me at the retrieval spot in five minutes."

"He's going to take them." Shoto said in shock "Our friends."

"He can't!" both you and Izuku exclaimed "We've got to follow him!"

"Right!"

Your group started sprinting after the villain but he was moving much too fast to keep up with on foot.

Fuck! We're falling behind!

"We have to catch up!" Izuku vocalized your thoughts "Uraraka make us float, Y/n you have to help her with that to make sure we're completely weightless and then Asui you launch us as far as you can with your tongue. Shoji hold Y/n Todoroki and I and correct our trajectory through the air."

You tried to put what he was saying together in your head "Ohhhh I get it, Ochaco you and I have to be completely in sync for this to work, you've got to measure the distance with your eyes and release us exactly when we're parallel to the ground, I'll do it at the same time, got it."

"Got it!" She agreed "Wait, Y/n, Deku, how are you going to fly with your injuries?"

Shoto squeeze you tightly as if you were about to be torn away from him "Y/n, Midoriya you stay here with the pain you're both in-"

Izuku grit his teeth "Trust me, neither of us feel any pain right now, we can do this. Hurry!"

I don't know what kind of bullshit he's talking about but I'm certainly in pain but sure, good cover Izu.

"We're going to be fine!" you lied trying to console your friends

"Deku at least let me do this!" Ochaco ripped her shirt and quickly used it to tie sticks to Izuku's broken arms creating a brace similar to what you made for your ankles.

Shoto put you down and everyone got into position. You nodded at Ochaco and you both used her quirk to make the four of you float.

"Okay go ahead Tsu!" She instructed

Before you could take a breath Tsu chucked you through the air directly at the masked villain. Shoji held onto you tightly as you whipped through the air while you screeched at the top of your lungs.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

You collided with the villain in the air and came crashing to the ground with a thud.

You sat up quickly and glanced around noticing the presence of several others. "Uhm... Good evening."
