《Snatched》Chapter 36

"Now then, let's begin the last test. Remember it's possible to fail this final, if you want to go to camp then don't make any stupid mistakes."
Aizawa began talking, the weird part was he wasn't the only one standing in front of you. All of the teachers for the first years were standing with him.
"I'm sure some of you have gathered information and believe you have some idea of what you'll be faced with today."
Oh no...
Principal Nezu suddenly popped out of Aizawas scarf "This year's tests will be very different for various reasons!"
"Why the... you know what, never mind."
"The tests now have a new focus." he said climbing down "They will have hero work of course, but also teamwork and combat between actual people. So what does that mean for you? You students will be working together in pairs and you're opponents will be one of our esteemed UA teachers, isn't that fabulous!"
...
"No actually that is not fabulous."
"Additionally your partners and your opponents have already been chosen." Aizawa informed you "They were determined at my discretion based on various factors including fighting style, grades and interpersonal relationships."
I swear to god if I'm with Mineta
Aizawa started listing off the pairs "First, Y/n and Bakugo, you'll be going against me."
You and Katsuki made eye contact.
Well fuck.
Your teacher finished telling everyone their groups.
"To complete the exam you'll have thirty minutes. In order to win your objective is to put these handcuffs on your teacher, or you can win if one of you manages to escape from the combat zone." Nezu explained
"It'll be a lot different than the combat training you've done before, after all you're up against people who are wayyy better than you!" Present Mic announced
Thirteen raised her hand "This time your exam will be very similar to a real battle, as strange as it is, please think of us as villains."
"Assuming you come across an enemy, if you think you can win against them then fight, however, in instances where you're outmatched, it would be smarter to run away and find help. Todoroki, Iida, Midoriya, Y/n I'm sure the four of you understand." Aizawa looked expectantly at you.
Yeah... that would be a no. I'm not running away from anything... except for Nomus... I will run from those any day.
"This is a test of your decision making skills." All Might said "With these rules you may be thinking your only option is to flee. That's why the support course made super clever accessories for us." he held up what looked like bracelets "These weights will add half our body weight to our arms and legs! It's not much but they will eat up our stamina and make it harder for us to move around."
"Let's begin, the teams will take the practice exam in the training facility we have prepared for you. Sato and Kirishima you're up first. Those waiting for their turns to fight can watch the exams or try to strategize together as a team." Aizawa instructed before walking off with the other teachers.
Immediately, everyone started talking so you went up to your partner as well.
"Katsuki... don't look at me like that, you can still beat me on the written part of the exam, calm down."

Your partner did not seem to be happy with being placed on a team with you.
"Don't bother trying to strategize I will win this on my own."
"Kat, stop being stubborn we won't do well if we can't work as a team."
"I don't need your fucking teamwork, go to hell!"
He stormed off leaving you behind. Out of the corner of your eye you saw Shota looking pensively at Katsuki as he walked away.
Interesting... wait I've got a plan.
"Are you going to be okay being partnered with him?"
"Don't worry about me Sho, I've already got a really bad idea which probably won't work."
"It's dangerous isn't it."
"Yep! But I'm with King Explosion Murder what do you expect."
"Just don't die."
"I can't make any promises."
He smiled slightly as you ran off to find your partner.
There are a bunch of different ways this could work but I want to get it done fast so let's go with the unsafe option.
"Kat!" you called finally catching up to him "I have an idea!"
"Are you a fucking moron I told you to go to hell!"
"I tried, it didn't work, and now I have a plan."
"Fuck off-"
"You get to yell and explode things with no consequences."
He didn't say anything and just kept walking away.
"Come on. Please, I really want to do well and I was kind of excited about working with you on this cuz we never do hero stuff together... Do it for me?"
...

You had missed the first three exams by the time you got to the viewing room. Izuku and Ochaco told you that Kirishima and Sato hadn't passed but Tokoyami, Tsu, Iida and Oojiro had.
"Really? Kiri didn't pass?"
"Yeah, it looks like they're putting us against teachers we'll have a hard time defeating." Izuku told you.
That makes sense, I could take Shota's quirk but he could also take mine so that's not an option. I can't really use Kasuki's quirk at all, so I guess that could be a reason we were put together.
The next exam was Momo and Shoto who were going up against Shota. There weren't enough first year teachers so Shota was going to fight twice. To make it fair, during your fight he wasn't going to wear the weights that would slow him down.
You were slightly worried about Momo because her confidence was shattered after the Sports Festival, but you had faith that Shoto would somehow manage to help her.
You watched intently as your friends worked through the exam and in the end managed to pass.
"This is so stressful to watch." you groaned sitting on the floor. "I'm more scared for everyone else than I am for myself."
Izuku nodded "I agree it's hard to think that they could fail with just one mistake."
"You really have to make use of every advantage you have."
Ochaco and Aoyama passed their exam quickly because of Ochaco's new martial art's skills.
Momo, Iida and Tsu joined you in the viewing room to watch the next match.
"Good job you guys! You all did so well!"
"Thank you Y/n, you were right, after that match I feel a lot more confident in my abilities."
"See Momo I told you."
"I believe that Ashido and Kaminari are paired up for the next battle, they are up against principal Nezu." Iida informed you

"Wait really? Holly shit I'm after them!"
"Run Y/n!" Izuku exclaimed
"I'm going!" you jumped up and sprinted out of the room
"Good luck!" your friends yelled as you ran to your exam area.
You raced out the building and to the mock city you were supposed to already be at. Momo and Shoto did their exam in the same place so you had a good idea of what it looked like.
Kat is going to kill me.
It was fairly far away so you told Katsuki that you would meet him there fifteen minutes before your match started but that wasn't going to happen.
You finally made it to the entrance with moments to spare.
"I'm...just a second." You took a few deep breaths "I'm here!"
"I can't fucking believe you."
"Jesus, that was close."
Shota scanned the streets from his perch on top of the houses. He knew that you and Bakugo wouldn't try to escape so he stayed in the middle of the mock city and waited for you to show up.
He had put the two of you together because of your conflicting fighting styles. Bakugo was very head on and violent while you were the opposite, he wanted to see how you would overcome that.
Shota had chosen to be your opponent because Bakugo was heavily reliant on his quirk which he could take advantage of and you had a specific weakness he wanted to exploit. You got emotional and made rash decisions when someone you cared about was involved and he was your uncle.
His head whipped to the side when he heard familiar yelling.
That's a dead give away, it would have been best to try and be stealthy but Bakugo can't control his temper.
Shota quietly worked his way over to where he heard the yelling coming from but stopped when he heard what exactly was being said.
"I don't fucking care! I'm doing this alone!"
"I already told you dipshit that's not how this WORKS!"
"WHY ARE YOU SO IDIOTIC! YOU DON'T DESERVE TO PASS!"
"IT'S YOU WHOSE ONLY THOUGHTS ARE ABOUT WINNING! YOU DON'T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A HERO!"
Shota had seen how Bakugo was acting and knew he would end up lashing out, he thought you would be able to handle him but you were just as angry as he was.
"AT LEAST I HAVE THE SKILL TO DO SOMETHING BY MYSELF! ALL YOU DO IS RELY ON OTHER FUCKING PEOPLE!"
Shota was shocked at the things you were saying to each other, he couldn't imagine how painful it would be to hear those things from a friend. He jumped down from his hiding spot to finish the exam quickly before either of you caused any more emotional damage.
"BAKUGO YOU ARE THE WEAKEST PERSON I HAVE EVER MET! YOU WILL NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING OTHER THAN A WASHED UP LITTLE BOY WHO CAN'T CONTROL HIS ANGER!"
"I'LL SHOW YOU ANGRY!"
In a split second a huge explosion shook the entire arena followed by a scream coming from the person it was aimed at.
Shota jumped up, adrenaline coursing through his veins and ran up to Bakugo.
"What the hell did you do!" he yelled at the boy whose face was pale with immediate regret
The teacher frantically looked for his niece and finally found her buried in a pile of ruble.
"Y/n!" he started pulling giant chunks of cement off your unmoving body "Talk to me, can you move!"
He suddenly felt something clamp down on his wrist.
"You know I'm really glad that worked, I would have been pretty upset if it hadn't."
Shota looked down at his wrist, he had been handcuffed.
"That was fun." you got up and brushed yourself off stumbling over to your partner and giving him a high five.
"How did you-"
"We just made use of every advantage we had." you smiled
Fucking hell, I thought I was going to die.
Your plan was simple, make your uncle think you had been seriously injured and then cuff him while he was unguarded.
Katsuki had agreed to your plan after only a little convincing, you thought he would say no but to your surprise he went along with your idea.
You knew Shota would be expecting Katsuki to lash out so you took advantage of that. Your whole 'argument' was completely scripted from things other people had said to both of you. You actually had a blast coming up with it because you learned someone once had called Katsuki a 'raging hedgehog'.
You also knew that your uncle thought you had a weakness when it came to people you cared about but that weakness was something that ran in the family.
The only issue was that Katsuki had to 'explode you' so you had planned for him to just explode a wall and then you would come up behind Shota and cuff him, but you hadn't moved in time... it added to the realism.
Katsuki held you up by the waist, you could tell your leg was broken and you had a lot of bruises.
"That didn't go as planned."
"No shit."
After your teacher took a moment to recover he walked up to you.
"I must admit that was a strategy I would have never expected but it worked. In a real situation with a villain, confusing them or having a planned trick can be a smart move but you have to be sure that is the best approach, in this case it was. I must commend you for your willingness to follow Y/n's lead Bakugo, she's the only one who would come up with something this stupid."
"She fucking guilted me into it."
"Yep!"
"Overall a very risky move and you shouldn't put yourself in danger on purpose, but it was well done."
You and Katsuki thanked him and after you whined for a while Katsuki begrudgingly carried you to see Recovery Girl, who scolded you both for being stupid and doing dangerous things just so you could finish quickly.
She left to tend to the next team but Katsuki stayed with you while you recovered your stamina.
"I wonder how he would have reacted if he knew the whole, 'actually getting blown up thing' wasn't planned."
"He would have lost his shit, why the fuck does he care so much about his idiot students."
"I bet he just didn't want to get blamed for a murder." You both laughed "Next time we work together let's just kick some ass instead."
"No more stupid strategies that don't fucking work."
"I'll have you know that was the most planning I've ever done, I thought about it for a whole ten minutes."
He made a weird scoff laugh sound which made you burst out laughing.
He glared at you but smiled.
Not angry Katsuki was really fun to be around.
I have to say, he looks so handsome when he smiles...
wait...

The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.

I was just like everyone else. At least, I thought so. Everyone grew up in a mansion with servants, trained to be a debutante, had a traveling archeologist for a father, and gave it all up to do whatever the hell they wanted. Right? Well that’s what I did. I was happy. As happy as a single twenty four year old girl can be living in an apartment selling shit online to pay the bills. Not actual shit, that's gross. No, I bought stuff from garage sales, thrift stores, and junk shops, and resold it in my online store. I was pretty good at finding stuff to peddle to my customers. I made rent every month and didn’t have to strip. I’m a bit too chunky to swing around a pole anyway. Life was great! Until two sexy men broke into my apartment and woke me up from the most erotic dream my sexually depraved mind could come up with. One was between my legs, the other was... Oh well, it was a dream and I didn’t even get to finish it. Those bastards! Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”
