《Snatched》Chapter 35

"Before you say anything, I've already had to listen to three people lecture me, so keep it short."
Shota sat at your kitchen table, he had driven you home after school and you guessed he was about to scold you about your run in with the Hero Killer.
"I wasn't going to say anything. I trust you have learned from the experience so no need to dwell on it."
"Oh..."
"I just wanted to let you know I got a call from the Chief of Police, he told me to inform you that after careful consideration, they would be reconsidering some of the quirk limitations they have in place. I don't know why he called me, I guess you said something that really made him think."
"I just yelled at him for a bit."
"That does sound like you." he got up and took a box of cereal with him "Make sure you don't slack off in preparation for your exams, taking down the Hero Killer doesn't mean you'll pass the finals."
"I know Shota, and don't steal my cereal."
"This year's training camp is going to be the most intense one we have ever done so you'll want to be there. Also, this is mine now."
He closed your door leaving you stressed and without breakfast.

You were walking down the hallway your face shoved in your textbook when someone shouted your name.
"Y/n!"
You looked up and jumped back, Mirio was standing directly in front of you, bent down so your faces were at the same level.
"Mirio I swear to god you to stop doing that."
"Sorry! I just didn't think I would see you in this part of the building and I got excited!"
"What do you mean this part of the building my class is over there..."
You looked around at your unfamiliar surroundings.
"Where am I?"
"This is the third year's hallway, you really should pay attention to where you're going."
"Yeah that might be a good idea, wait who's that?" you gestured to a boy with navy blue hair hiding behind Mirio.
"Oh silly me, I should introduce you! Y/n meet Tamaki Amajiki, Tamaki meet Y/n L/n she's the girl I was telling you about."
You closed your textbook and smiled brightly at him "It's nice to meet you Tamaki."
You could tell he was shy by the way he hid behind Mirio so you didn't try to shake his hand or get close to him.
"What did you tell him about me Mirio? I'm worried."
"Only good things!"
"Tamaki, did he tell you that a first year apprehended more villains than him."
"No, he didn't." Tamaki mumbled
"Y/nnn don't tell him about that!"
"I don't know why you're upset Mirio at least you didn't lose your clothes."
The last day of your internship Mirio had been walking around helping you out without his hero costume on, and you had asked him to grab some papers for you. He phased through the wall and returned with the papers but without his clothes.
You were scared for life.
"It was one time and I'm sorry!"
"One time too many, I'm still looking for ways to bleach my eyes."
You were surprised to see that Tamaki was smiling just slightly and had inched out from behind Mirio while you were talking.

He is the most precious person I have ever met.
"Mirio! Tamaki! I finally found you- ohh who's this?" a girl with purple hair ran up to you.
"What's your name? Which course are you in? What's your quirk?"
The girl bombarded you with questions faster than you could answer them.
"Hey Neijire, this is Y/n, the girl who interned at my agency."
You waved awkwardly, you couldn't help but notice that Neijire was the complete opposite of Tamaki.
"Oh I've heard a lot about you! You have a quirk that allows you to use other people's quirks right? How does it work? Can you show me now?"
Tamaki sent you an apologetic look while the girl circled you like a shark asking more questions than you could comprehend.
"Help me." you whispered quietly.
Tamaki mumbled so quietly you could barely hear him "Neijire I saw that girl with the pink hair that you wanted to talk to down the hall."
"Oh really! Bye Y/n can't wait to see your quirk later!" and with that she was gone.
"Sorry about her sometimes she can be a bit much." Mirio laughed
"Just a little, thanks for that Tamaki. I should probably get going since class starts soon and I have no idea where I am."
"Your hallway should be down the stairs and to the left." Mirio instructed
How did I walk up stairs without noticing?
"Thanks you two, bye!"
"See you later Y/n!" Mirio beamed
Tamaki waved slightly which was good enough for you.
"Woah Tamaki! You were super extroverted there, you must have really liked her."
"She seemed nice."

"Alright class, that's enough for today, you're free to go to lunch." the bell rang and you immediately took out your notes.
"Hey extra."
You didn't look up "What do you want Katsuki I'm memorizing terms."
"Just know that I will beat you this time."
You took your eyes off your notes so you could mock him properly.
"Oh yeah I forgot, I'm in the lead by two now aren't I, looks like you've got some catching up to do."
"What are you guys talking about?" Kirishima walked up to you before Katsuki could start yelling.
"Kat and I keep track of who does better on exams and I've done better twice in a row now."
"But didn't Bakugo get third on the Midterms?"
"Yep, but I got second, isn't that right Katsuki?"
He just grumbled in reply.
You had gotten the second highest mark on the midterms putting you just below Momo and above Katsuki. You weren't particularly gifted in any subjects, you just had a terrifying uncle threatening that if you didn't do well something bad would happen.
"You both seem to know your stuff, could you guys help me study? Kirishima asked
"Just watch! I'll beat the lessons into your skull!"
"That's a yes from Katsuki, I don't know how good I'll be at tutoring but I can give it a try. We can meet up on the weekend if that works for you guys."
Denki suddenly appeared out of nowhere "Wait Y/n your tutoring someone? Can you help me out too?"
"I also could use some help." Sero popped up beside you
Izuku tapped you on the shoulder "Y/n! Do you want to join our study group?"
"Yes you would be a great addition to our session." Tenya added

"You know what, on second thought maybe this wasn't such a good idea... the person you should ask for study help is Momo." you quickly directed their attention to your friend "She did get first place on the Midterms."
"I guess but I really wanted to hang out with you outside of school Y/n..." Denki mumbled
Everyone stiffened and turned to look at him with verifying expressions, most notably, Katsuki looked like he was ready to commit a murder.
"Crap! Did I say that out loud?"
"Yes... but don't worry about it we can hang out if you want."
"What, really?"
"Yeah, after the exams we should all get together and do something before we go to camp."
Sero suddenly started laughing "Press F to pay respects."
A chorus of "F's" came from around the classroom.
"What the hell..."
After refusing to explain to you what they were talking about, everyone went to the cafeteria for lunch. You sat with Shoto and Izuku's group because they were the only ones not being weird.
"I'm kind of scared about the practical part of the test" Izuku said "I have no idea what it's going to be."
"It's hard to believe they'd give us anything too crazy." Tenya assured him
"The written exam questions will come from what we study in class, so I should be able to manage somehow, but seriously, what'll we have to do for the practical exam?"
You thought back to all of the intense training and work you had to do over the semester "Considering it's UA we're talking about, we'll probably have to sell our souls just to pass."
"All we know is that 'It'll be a comprehensive test of everything from first semester.' That's all Mr. Aizawa would tell us." Hagakure sighed.
"Everything we did so far so, combat training and rescue training, and then basic training." Ochaco speculated.
Izuku put his hand to his chin "We can't just study we'll have to stay in great physical shape aswel- augh!"
A rogue elbow suddenly whacked him in the back of the head.
"Oh sorry, your head's so big that it's hard to miss." the boy sarcastically apologized
You recognized him as Monama from class 1-B with the copying quirk similar to your own.
"Hey that really hur-"
"I heard you guys stumbled across the Hero Killer, just like in the sports festival class 1-A isn't happy unless they're the center of attention, but that attention isn't because people think you're good heroes right, it's just that you keep getting into so much trouble."
Oh god he's so fucking annoying.
"Here's food for thought, someday the rest of us might get caught up in your mess and then we'll all become un willing victims as well. What kind of horrible villains will you bring down upon us wha-"
"Sorry person I just met but I urge you to shut your goddamn face" You interrupted him "I think you might be in the wrong school, UA is for aspiring heroes not aspiring villains. Stop being a jerk and kindly go away."
"Who do you think you're talking to you-"
A girl with orange hair karate chopped him in the head making him pass out on the floor.
"Momoma that's not funny! You heard what happened to Iida!" She scolded him and then turned to you "I'm sorry for him, I'm pretty sure there is a hole where his heart should be."
"No kidding, what was your name again?"
"Oh sorry for not introducing myself, I'm Kendo from class 1-B. Also I was kind of listening, I know you're all worried about what's going to be on the big final practical, I heard it's going to be combat against robots like in the entrance exam."
"Wait really? How do you know that?" Izuku asked
"One of my friends who's a few grades up filled me in, I know cheating, but oh well."
I should have asked Mirio, wow, I'm kind of an idiot.
You went back to class and filled everyone in on the new information about the practical part of the exams.
Mina and Denki started celebrating because they could use their quirks to take down robots easily.
"You know, I don't think it'll be robots this year, it just seems too easy."
"Come on Y/n, your thinking too hard about it, we'll definitely pass now." Denki cheered
"It shouldn't matter if it's robots or actual people, why are you morons so excited." Katsuki said
"Hey who are you calling morons!"
"SHUT UP! You need to learn how to control your quirks!"
He turned to Izuku "Hey Deku." he snarled "I don't know what's going on with your power but I saw the way you're using it now, and I want you to know... it's seriously pissing me off."
"Oh, he must be talking about how Deku was moving like Bakugo the other day." Ochaco whispered to you.
When you were doing the training race, Izuku was using his quirk along with Katuski's moves to propel himself, that was certainly something that Katsuki would find infuriating.
"I don't need another half-assed win like at the sports festival. At the upcoming finals, we'll get individual scores, so we'll see who's better, whether you like it or not I'll show you how much better I am! And Todoroki I'll kill you too!"
"Whoa there Katsuki, let's not make any death threats today."
"Don't you dare think I'm not going to obliterate you too Y/n!"
"That's not very nice."
"FUCK OFF!"
He stormed out of the classroom leaving your class in silence.
"But class starts in five minutes... where is he going."
***
You spent the weekend studying and training. Occasionally someone would ask you to study with them or train but you declined, you needed to focus on cramming as much as possible.
You found a new, potentially unsafe, way to train your quirk, you would stand at your window and wait for someone to walk past your apartment, then you would see if you could steal their quirk and how long you could hold it for before they got too far away.
You never activated the quirk because the first time you tried it, you turned your toaster into a top hat. To be fair, it was a nice top hat and you looked great in it, but now you had no toaster.
Before you knew it, it was time for the written exams. You finished each one easily and then spent the rest of the time checking your answers over and over making sure they were right.
"Alright put your pencils down, the last person in each row bring the answer sheets to me." Aizawa instructed
You looked up from your paper, your hand aching from writing so much "Wait... we're done, it's done... I can completely forget all of this information now!"
Shota glared at you.
"Or... I can remember this valuable information that I will definitely be using later in my life."
He rolled his eyes "Everyone get changed and meet me in the Center Plaza for your practical exam."
