A guy with blond hair and kind of weird blue eyes emerged from the wall wearing a full hero costume.

In your moment of panic you dove across the hallway and were braced against the opposite wall, fists in the air.

"Look at her reflexes Mirio! Isn't she something!" Bubble Girl exclaimed

He smiled brightly and laughed "Sorry about that new intern! Didn't mean to scare you, most people around here are used to me popping out of walls."

After your heart literally jumping out of your chest, it took you a moment to regain your composure.

"No, no it's fine I just... wasn't expecting it."

Wasn't expecting it my ass, that was fucking terrifying.

"I was just about to take her to meet Sir, but I thought she'd like to meet your first." Bubble Girl explained.

The guy walked up to you, holding out his hand "Hi there new intern I'm Mirio Togata my Hero name is Lemillion, I'm doing my work study here!"

You took his hand shakily "It's nice to meet you Mirio, I'm Y/n L/n but I just go by Y/n, can I ask what your quirk is? I'm just curious because it seems like a great quirk for rescue work."

Showing up out of nowhere and walking trough walls would be a great way to take people out of dangerous situations.

"How did you know! My quirk is Permeation, it allows me to become intangible, it lets me pass through any tangible matter, like phasing through walls!" he grinned "If I return to my usual sate while phasing through something, my body gets repelled outward. But the main thing I aim to do is save people, I know I won't be able to save everyone so my goal is to save 1 million people, that's where my hero name, Lemillion comes from!"

"That's an incredible quirk! Do you mind if I try it sometime?"

He stared at you confused but then realization hit him "Oh! I remember! You're that super cool girl from the sports festival who can use other people's quirks! I'm really sorry Y/n, but it would be best if you don't ever try my quirk. Although Permeation can be an amazing ability it's only safe to use if you have the proper training."

"What do you mean?"

"When I use Permeation everything passes through me, including light, sound, and air. Meaning, while my quirk is active, I can't see, hear, or breathe. If you were to try and use it without have any prior experience, it could be really dangerous. Also" he scratched the back of his neck seemingly embarrassed "Whenever I use my quirk, my clothes phase through me too, so if I'm not wearing my hero suit, which is made of my hair, I'll end up completely naked!"

You blinked, not knowing what to do with the information he just gave you.

That sounds horrifying, note to self, never use Mirio's quirk.

"If you guys are done chit chatting I need to take Y/n to meet Sir before we're late."

"Oops! Sorry for keeping you Y/n, I'll see you later!"

With a final wave he phased back through the wall.

That's weird as hell.

"Come on Y/n, his office is right over here."

You stopped in front of what you assumed to be his door and took a deep breath to calm your nerves.

Bubble girl opened the door leading you into Sir Nighteye's office.

Okay, I just have to remember nothing about- ALL MIGHT!

You had to stop your jaw from dropping open.

The entire room was filled with All Might merchandise.

From the posters on the wall to the life size cardboard cutout, the only room you could think of with more merch was Izuku's.

"Good Morning Sir, the new intern Y/n L/n is here."

Your eyes were drawn away from all of the All Might stuff and to a tall man with glasses sitting at a desk at the back of the office.

"Hello Miss L/n, welcome to the Nighteye Agency." he spoke in almost a monotone reminding you of Shoto.

You bowed "It's a pleasure to meet you Sir Nighteye, please call me Y/n."

"Fine, Miss Y/n, please step forward."

You did as you were told and walked up to his desk as he examined you.

"I'll cut strait to the point, here at the Nighteye Agency we do not usually make offers on first years to be interns, however, I saw potential in you. I recognized how you purposely lost the obstacle course to gain an advantage in the second round and how you used every single one of your assets to do well. I believe you have the capability to become great if you are able to harness your abilities."

"Thank y-"

"However, there is one more factor I must consider before I allow you to intern at this agency, I must touch you for your final test to begin."

...

"I'm sorry my good sir but that would be a no from me."

"Excuse me?"

You chucked good manners out the window.

"No, excuse ME, I just met you and I'm in an unfamiliar place where I have had two heart attacks and almost fallen down the stairs. May I remind you I have been here for TEN MINUETS!"

Sir Nighteye stood up abruptly, looming over you but you did not back down.

"I will not be allowing creepos with rooms full of merch of All Might to be touching me any time soon." you growled

"You have misunderstood."

"Nope, your brain seems to be full of spiders, you've got garlic in your soul, and I'll have you know I wouldn't touch you with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole."

You spun on your heel and threw the door open planning to get as far away from the man behind you as possible but you stopped when you heard laughing.

You glanced behind you and saw Sir Nighteye chuckling, a strange sight, but seeing him laugh made you feel oddly at ease.

"Quite brilliant Miss Y/n, using a line from a Christmas song caught me off guard but it was the perfect placement of humor in a serious situation. That is exactly what I'm looking for."

"I'm sorry, what?" you stayed in the door frame so you could run at any moment but allowed Sir Nighteye to step closer to you.

"As I said before, you misunderstood me, my quirk is Foresight, it allows me to see another person's future from a third person point of view. In order to activate my power, I must first touch the intended target, and then make eye contact with them. I apologies if my intentions were misconceived."

You studied him quizzically looking for any signs of lying.

"It is my philosophy that without humor, the work would become bleak and unbearable to live in. I strive to find coworkers who are able to see humor in even the grimmest of situations and I find no use in working with someone who cannot. I hoped to slightly look into your future to determine whether you share my value of humor but you have just now shown that you do."

It wasn't even funny though, at all, it was just completely random... he has a strange sense of humor.

Despite your skepticism you made yourself apologize.

"Sorry for jumping to conclusions like that, I've just been surprised too many times today and I didn't need another one. I feel really bad about insulting you and your copious amount of All Might merch." you bowed again.

Astonishingly he took your insults very well and ended up giving you a whole lecture on how much he admired All Might.

He's a real fan boy, Izuku would love him.

"What type of hero work do you wish to do in the future Miss Y/n?"

"Ideally, I will be doing mostly rescue work and citizen evacuation."

He considered your response for a moment "Given your quirk and current strengths you are better suited for combat."

"What?"

"While you are here I will take into consideration what you want to do, but I will ask that you focus more on villain confrontation."

Well that certainly mixes things up.

"You will be working in the field doing patrols and I will send you on any rescue missions that come up. In your current state, you will learn most from doing real hero work, of course, I will send you along with either Bubble Girl or Mirio for safety reasons and Cetipeder if he returns from his mission. Understood?"

"Yes Sir."

"You will start in fifteen minutes, for now, Bubble Girl will take you to your assigned room so you can drop off your luggage."

Before you had a chance to ask any questions Bubble Girl ushered you out into the hall and closed the door.

"Sorry about him Y/n, he doesn't really listen when he has a goal in mind and he's got big plans for you!"

You nodded "Yeah..."

She studied you worriedly "I know you wanted to focus on rescue work, but when you fight villains you save more people then you ever could otherwise. Not to bash rescue heroes, but when you apprehend a villain you are saving all the people they would torment if they were running free. You also get to kick some ass."

"I never really thought of it that way." you smiled at her reassuringly.

You weren't sure how you felt regarding the matter. You had always wanted to save people... since what happened with your parents. But you had yet to decide if you were content with indirectly defending them.

Bubble Girl gave you the key to your room and left you to get settled after telling you to meet Mirio in the lobby wearing you hero costume in ten minuets.

The room was decently big with a bed and a dresser, there also was a private bathroom with a shower which you were thankful for. You grabbed your costume and quickly put it on giving yourself a quick check in the mirror. Before you left the room you texted everyone asking how things were going and then left your phone on the bed.

"Alright Y/n, you get to come patrolling with me!" Mirio beamed at you as you came down the stairs. "Bubble Girl is helping Sir with a mission so it's just us today!"

"Okay, so we just go around looking for any trouble?"

"Yep pretty much! Oh I forgot to ask, what's your hero name?"

"It's Negate... it makes sense in context."

"Cool!"

The two of you left the building and Mirio began leading you around, pointing out anything of interest. You were astonished by how he was always positive and smiling, it was like you were standing next to the sun.

"Lemillion, how often do you run into villains when you're on patrol?"

"Every time! There hasn't been a day when I don't see anyone in need of saving! I was thinking, when we run into a villain today, I'm going to let you handle them."

"Are you serious? I've only ever had to fight villains once, I'll probably end up hurting someone."

"That's what I'm here for! I'll handle crowd control and keep people out of the way, and you can do your thing, that way I can get to know your fighting style for future missions!"

"Okay... but we won't see one until later right?"

"Nope! Look over there! That guy is robbing a store!"

"Why are you so excited!"

You whipped your head to where Mirio was pointing and saw a regular looking man running out of a store holding a black bag.

"Go gettem Y/n!"

You wasted no time in catching up to the robber cutting him off before he could run too far.

"Hello sir, it's seems as though you have broken the law so could you maybe stop?"

He glared at you "Like hell I will."

You suddenly felt like all of your muscles had stopped working.

The thief chuckled at your frozen state and started running again.

"So that's your quirk? Cool, just a second."

It took you no effort to grab his quirk and snatch 100% of it freeing you completely.

"Lemillion is everyone cleared?!" you called out

"Yep you're all good!"

"Okay phase two."

You activated his quirk watching as he froze in place, dropping the bag of money, you walked up to him and picked it up.

"I told you to stop, you should really reconsider your life choices, villainy is not a great profession, consider maybe becoming a florist."

"Wow Negate! That was awesome that took you no time at all!"

You saw Mirio running towards you and you smiled holding up the bag of stolen money.

"I'll return this, can you deal with this guy for me? His quirk is the ability to freeze people in place so he's not going anywhere until I say so."

"Got it, you're already like a pro!"

You sent one last glace to the guy you had apprehended, he didn't look sorry for his actions, he looked sorry he got caught.

You found the store that had been robbed and looked for the owner, she was hiding behind the counter curled up in a ball.

You spoke softly as to not scare her more "Hi Miss, I'm the hero Negate, don't worry, everything's been taken care of, you don't have to hide anymore.'

She looked up at you with teary eyes "But the money..."

"I've got it right here Miss." you held up the bag you'd retrieved from the robber.

In a flash the woman jumped up and hugged you tightly "Thank you so much! I need that money to keep my store open and I thought I had lost it all! You saved me and my store, thank you Negate!"

You felt a warm sensation in your chest as you embraced the shop owner.

I could get used to this.

The police arrived shortly after, and took the robber into custody. You waved to the shop owner as you and Mirio left, while she cried happy tears.

"Damn, that was fun!" you pumped your fist in the air.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it, there's going to be a lot more of that if you become a pro but I noticed something... your quirk is very reliant on being in a good situation."

You knew exactly what he meant, if that thug had a more destructive quirk or one that was difficult to use, or even if he hadn't showed you what it was right at the beginning, you would have been screwed.

"The best thing for me is having a partner whose quirk I know or working with a team, otherwise using random people's quirks gets dangerous really quickly."

He scratched the back of his neck "I guess I'm not a great person to be patrolling with then."

"What no! You're awesome and reliable and positive and I would love to work with you again!"

"You're too nice Y/n, but thanks."

The two of you ran into a few more low level villains, which Mirio let you handle, and then you walked back to the agency in the dark.

"Well I'm pretty tired, how are you feeling Y/n?"

Mirio turned around to find you lying face down on the floor. "Uuugggghhhhh."

About half way through your patrol you told Mirio about the fatigue part of your quirk and that it was getting better but you still had a ways to go before it was completely gone.

"Oh so this is what you were talking about, come on let's get you to your room." he helped you up and supported your weight as you half walked half stubbled to your door. "You did some great work out there Y/n, want to come patrolling with me tomorrow too?"

You gave him a shaky thumbs up, to which he just laughed and ruffled your hair, before leaving you to get some rest.
