《Snatched》Chapter 27

You held you phone with one hand and a drink in the other, after you had to leave Rei's room, Shoto had showed you where the vending machines were and then went to talk to the people at the front desk about his mother.
You decided to answer a few more of your messages while you had the time, both Denki and Sero had sent you a cursed picture of yourself from the sports festival. You were in the background of an interview with Midnight, with the two of them T-posing at Shinso from across the stadium.
I was intimidating the competition, and it worked.
You wanted to talk to Shinso, not about anything in particular, but just to get to know him a bit more. You had talked to him properly maybey two times and he seemed nice.
I'll get his contact info tomorrow at school.
You saw Shoto walking towards you so you put away your phone and met up with him. He asked if you wanted him to walk you home but you said you'd be fine on your own. It wasn't close to dark so you decided you could check a few more things off your to do list, there was one more person you needed to talk to.
You also wanted to avoid an awkward walk home with the boy whose mother had been trying to set you up with.
You were walking away when he called out to you.
"Y/n..." you turned around.
"Yeah?"
"Do you love me?"
You almost choked on your drink at the somewhat expected question.
Rei, I swear to god.
"Yeah of course I do, you're my best friend."
He gave you a hint of a smile but you saw the dissatisfaction in his eyes.
"That's a start."
"What? Sho you do realise we are standing beside a busy road and I'm not beside you right?"
"I know." he called out a bit louder.
You could've sworn he smirked at you before he turned and walked away.
Does he think I have super hearing or mind reading or something?
You huffed, bothered at how annoying he was being.
At lest he's back to normal.
***
"Hey Tenya, it's Y/n again, I'm really worried about you, call me back when you can."
You ended what must have been your fifth voice mail to Iida.
It's not like him not to answer...
You had been trying to get a hold of him all day to no avail, you'd even tried asking other people if they'd heard anything from him, but he hadn't been in contact with anybody after the sports festival when his brother was admited to the hospital.
You wanted to make sure he was okay, considering how worried he looked before he left the festival, but that wasn't happening.
You absentmindedly walked up to the house in front of you and knocked on the door.
Maybe his phone isn't charged? No he would never.
Someone opened the door and greeted you but you were lost in thought.
I'm sure he's fine physically, but mentally I'm sure he needs some support.
The person at the door tried to get your attention and ushered you into the house calling out for someone.
Why won't he ask for help, maybe I'll go to his house... but what if he just needs some alone time?

You heard someone coming down the stairs infront of you.
I need to stop worrying about him, I'm sure he's fine... but he's my friend and I'm worried.
"Hey extra what's wrong with you. Got your head up your ass?"
You looked up and saw Katsuki standing in front of you.
"S'up Kat, what are you doing here."
He looked at you like you had two heads. "This is my fucking house."
You looked around "Oh yeah it is, huh, interesting, how did I get here?"
You saw him glance behind you so you turned around to see Mitsuki looking genuinely worried for your well being.
"Honey, you knocked at the door and I let you in, are you alright?"
You stared at her for a moment trying to sort through your head.
"ooooooooh, I remember. Sorry about that, I wasn't paying attention."
"No fucking kidding."
You turned back around to Katsuki. "Excuse you shit head."
You spun around to talk to Mitsuki. "Sorry for coming over without warning, I'm here to talk to your annoying ass child."
"WHAT DID YOU-"
She grinned "It's not a problem sweetheart, you can come by anytime, just try to remember where you are next time."
"Got it."
You turned to Katsuki again getting kind of dizzy from turning around so much "Okay, now that that's sorted out." You cleared your throat. "Hey, how're you doing."
"The fuck do you mean."
"Ugh, why are you making things difficult, c'mon, upstairs we go."
He seemed so genuinely shocked by the scene that just unfolded in front of him, he actually listened to you and lead you to his room.
As you were walking up the stairs you waved to Mitsuki who just winked back at you.
What is it with people's moms today?
"What the fuck do you want?" Katsuki demanded when you walked into his room, glaring intensely at you.
"Woah there partner, calm down, I was just in the neighbourhood and-"
"Don't fucking lie to me." he growled
"Fine, if your going to be like that I'll just get strait to the point, I just came over to check on y-"
Nope, can't say that, my face will be exploded.
You had come over to see Katsuki to make sure he was okay after what must have been a humiliating experiance at the end of the sports festival. You knew he would never admit it, but to be muzzled and given an award you didn't think you deserved and have it all recorded and seen by thousands of people must have been terrible. You were also worried about what potential agencies might think of him, if all they saw was that picture of how hot headed he was.
You continued trying not to seem condescending "I um... are you okay?"
"Of course I am who the hell do you think you're talking to."
"The guy who was tied to a block of cement in front of a bunch of cameras.'
Pain flashed across his eyes but was quickly replaced by outrage.
Oops
"Ah, wait, just, mmm." you held your hands up to stop him before he could scream at you and spoke so fast you could barely keep up with yourself.

"I just wanted to tell you that I know that must've sucked ass, but if you're worried about hero agencies don't be, because the ones that you'll want to get into won't care about that and I'm sorry you had to go through that and I'm here for you if you need me and I'm really proud of you so please don't kill me okay bye!"
You had been backing out of the room as you spoke so you darted down the stairs and out the door stopping only briefly to say goodbye to Mitsuki.
You usually would have stayed and taken his yelling and anger easily, but you could tell this was a touchy subject and it would be best if you said what you needed to and then let him process it.
***
You had made it home after doing some quick shopping and were watching Netflix when you heard the door open. The only person who had the audacity to just try and open a door that should bee locked was your uncle so you got up and met him in the kitchen.
His bandages were off so he finally looked like a person and not a mummy.
"Hey Shota."
He just nodded in your direction rummaging around your fridge.
"I just went shopping don't steal my food you human catapilar" you whined
"I payed for it I can eat it."
You gave him the middle finger behind his back and sat down on your table.
"Why are you here, go away." you pouted
"I came by yesterday, but you were sleeping. Speaking of which, the tests came back and the professionals came to the conclusion that the fatigue drawback of your quirk will fade with use."
"What! How!?"
The fatigue part of your quirk was your biggest weakness, passing out after using one person's quirk was not ideal for a pro hero, so if you could get rid of it you would be able to save so many more people.
"A quirk is like a muscle, you can use it and strengthen it. The more you train and perfect it, the easier it is to use. The doctors think that after the USJ attack you had used your quirk enough to be able to build up toleance to the phisical repercussions."
"Yes! This is great!"
"It is." he trned to you with his trademark creepy smile "You can now start doing endurance training with your quirk."
You groaned, but it was a small price to pay for such a huge improvement.
"I also want to talk about your performance at the sports festival."
"I know, I was pretty awesome."
"No, you weren't. The audience thought you were amazing, but anyone with an ounce of experience could see you were being controlled by your emotions. I don't know what happened but if you want to become a pro hero, you cannot let yourself be blinded by anger, villains can and will take advantage of you that way."
You frowned, "I know Shota..."
"But you've improved, good job on that." he complimented you and left your apartment before you could say anything else.
A compliment from Shota? Weird.
You spent the rest of the day texting your friends and watching Netflix, before trying one last time to call Tenya.
You listened intently to the phone ring, hoping this time he would pick up
"You have reached Tenya Iida, I am currently unavailable ple-"
You hung up, not bothering to leave another voice mail.
At least he'll be at school tommorow.
***
"I know you! You're Y/n L/n from the U.A. sports festival!"
"You were amazing out there!"
"Your quirk is incredible!"
Oh no, not again.
Before you knew it a crowd had formed around you. You had been walking to school as you normally do but every person you came across recognised you from TV.
"Thank you all so much for your compliments, but I'm going to be late to school and I really should get going."
It was pouring rain which only made the situation more uncomfortable as you were jostled by strangers. You searched for a way out of the mob, and saw a boy with messy green hair running beside someone wearing a bright green rain coat.
The only person confident and oblivious enough to try and pull that off is...
"Iida!" you called out, but he couldn't hear you from where you were standing.
"Okay everyone thank you so much for supporting me, but imma slide right out of here so be prepared."
You braced yourself and used the slippery ground to launch yourself right through the group of people.
And professional ice skater Y/n makes a come back.
You glanced behind you to see the people all going their separate ways, so you ran to catch up with the two boys.
"Tenya! Izuku!" you called as they walked into the school.
"Hello Y/n, good morning, we didn't see you there." Tenya greeted you as if he hadn't been ignoring your calls.
"Hey Y/n!" Izuku added
You eyed Tenya as you put away your coat.
"Y/n, I apologise for not responding to your calls or messages, I foolishly left my phone at the stadium when I left and only retrieved it this morning."
I can believe that.
You were relieved that he hadn't been purposely ignoring you "Yeah, um, sorry about the amount of calls, I was just really worried."
"There is no need to apologise, I am flattered that you are kind enough to call in the first place."
Izuku had been silent but he finally decided to speak up "Umm Iida..."
"If you are going to ask about my brother, please don't worry, everything will be fine." he smiled brightly.
He then started speed walking to the classroom.
"I believe him as much as I would believe that Katsuki didn't scream for a day." you muttered to Izuku.
"I agree."
You walked into the classroom and everyone was talking about getting recognised from the sports festival.
"Hey Y/n," Kirishima called you over "I'm sure tons of people wanted to talk to you!"
You shuddered remembering being squished by a bunch of strangers "A few too many."
"What do you mean?"
"I kept getting swarmed by people, not my favorite way to start off the day."
The door opened to reveal a tired looking Mr. Aizawa so you sat down at your desk.
The boy beside you leaned over slightly.
"I'll walk you home."
"Thanks Sho."
Mr. Aizawa addressed the class "We have a big class today on hero informatics."
No way already?
"You need code names, it's time to pick your hero identities."
