《Snatched》Chapter 23

You just stood there as the two of them walked away.
Silent tears streamming down your face.
Your emotions were spining you around faster then you could handle.
I make him weak...
That's why he stopped talking to me?
That's why he pushed me away?
That's why he made me cry every night?
Becaue I made him weak?
...
I'll show him weak
***
You met up with Katsuki, Mina, Kirishima, Denki and Sero for the rest of lunch, after you composed yourself.
"You guys were pretty amazing out there!"
"Nah, it was mostly Bakugo doing all the work."
"If it wasnt for you Sero, he would have landed flat on his face more than once."
"WHAT DID YOU-"
"Yeah I guess so."
Mina slung her arm around your shoulder "Speaking of amazing people Y/n, you blew everyone's socks off!"
You didn't want to think about your preformance in the cavalry battle. You completely lost your composure and took a huge risk way too fast that could have cost you the game, so you changed the subject.
"Maybey not socks, but I did lose a shoe does anyone have a spare pair?"
"Oh yeah I saw that!" Denki exlaimed "You nailed Mineta in the nose he's with Recovery Girl right now!"
"My one true mission has been accomplished." you giggled and Kirishima gave you the look.
"Aw no Kiri don't."
"You can't deny it forever Y/n, I agree with Kirishima you look really pretty when you laugh!"
"Denki not you too." you groaned "Katsuki explode their faces please."
"Gladly."
You had ment it as a joke but Katsuki looked like he would without hesitaion.
What is up with him?
Before anyting could get too out of hand, it was time to head back into the stadium so you all grabbed your stuff and Mina lent you an extra pair of shoes from her bag.
"Why are you just carying these around?"
"You never know when there could be an emergency!" She winked
"Oh, Y/n Mina, before we go in I have a message for you!"
"What's up Denki?"
***
"Hell naw."
You stared at yourself in the mirrior wearing the cheerleading costume that, according to Denki, you were supposed to wear.
It was way to revealing for your standards so you quickly changed out of it and stomped down the hallway to give the teachers a peice of your mind.
"I swear to god they can't make us do this. If they tell me I have to, I will call the police! I have rights and I will not stand for them making high school girls into their own fucking littl-"
"Y/n is everything all right?"
Shinso was walking the oposite direction and he looked slightly alarmed by your mumbling.
"Hitoshi, you are a man of culture, what do you think of this!"
You held up the costume in front of you angrily. He looked a bit startled but a slight blush had already worked it's was onto his cheeks.
You gave him a slight glare "There is a right answer Shinso."
"I think it's a violating way for the school to get veiwers?"
You studied him for a moment "Correct! I'm about to go and strangle whoever's idea it was to make all of the girls wear these outfits, coming?"
"I didn't hear anything about that. None of the girls I've seen are wearing them."
...
"That son of a bitch better relish in his last moments on this planet."

"Y/n?"
"Thank you for being the only decent male I've talked to for the last hour Hitoshi."
You ruffled his floofy hair which was a lot softer than you thought it would be.
"Now if you exuse me, I'm going to go and commit a murder."
The vibe you were giving off sent shivers down Shinso's spine as you walked away.
That's kind of hot tho... wait what?
He took a moment to let his face turn back from being pink, before he went to find his class.
***
"It seems like class 1-A is going all out!" Present Mic anounced to the crowd as all eyes were on the girls from your class wearing the revealing cheerleading uniforms.
"Wait where is Y/n?" Mineta asked Denki as he drooled at the sight of the girls.
A dark aura emerged from behind the two boys.
"Right here."
***
You had been apprehended by Kirishima and Sero before you could finish off the purple gremlin and Denki.
"Okay look, if you let me go I won't lunge at them again."
Kiri and Sero held you by your arms to keep you away from the other two boys.
The two offenders stood huddled together as far away from you as possible, they had just narrowly escaped death.
"Promise Y/n?" Kirishima asked skeptically.
"Yessss."
"No crossed fingers this time?"
You sighed and held your hands up to show your fingers weren't crossed.
"Okay..."
They cautiously dropped your arms and you rotated your shoulders. "Thank you."
And then you made a run for it, "Haha sike!"
"Sero!"
You felt tape wrap around your arm as you were pulled back towards your captors once again.
"Y/n come on!"
"Just let me get one punch in!" you pleaded.
"That doesn't sound very heroic of you."
You groaned and freed yourself from Sero's tape.
"Ugh fine."
Every year the last portion of the sports festival was some type of tournament and this year was no different. Everyone got called up to draw lots to see who they would be up against.
"All right let's get started!" Midnight announced waving the lot box in the air.
"Um excuse me." Ojiro raised his hand"I'm withdrawing. It just wouldn't be right for me to go on. I barely remember anything from the cavalry battle until the very end of it, I think it was that guy's quirk."
Ojiro explained that he couldn't possibly advance to the next round if he didn't earn his place when everyone else worked so hard. He refused to give up his pride. Another student withdrew for the same reason.
Wait, who was Ojiro on a team with again?
Two other students filled in their, spots a guy named Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu and a girl with plant hair.
A board appeared in the air showing who was up against who.
Looks like I'm up against Iida first.
You studied the bracket and realised if you and Todoroki both won all of your matches you would go up against each other in the third round.
Lucky me.
In order for you to face Todoroki he would have to beat either Izuku or Shinso, you felt bad for hoping they would lose, but you really wanted to crush your former best friend.
There were a bunch of side games before the tournament was supposed to start, so you took that opportunity to regain your stamina. You found your class' seating area, without getting lost this time, and flopped down onto the seats closing your eyes and immediately falling asleep.

...
Y/n...Y/n! Y/n wake up."
You groggily opened your eyes and saw Ochaco standing in front of you shaking your arm gently.
"How long was I out?" you yawned stretching your arms.
"Not a very long time, the first match is just starting."
You looked over the railing and saw Izuku and Hitoshi standing at opposite ends of the arena.
Their match was over faster then you could have imagined. Shinso had some type of mind control quirk which Ojiro tried to warn Izuku about, but your green haired friend got controlled anyway. The whole thing almost ended with Izuku walking out of the arena but he some how managed to stop himself by breaking his finger. It was all down hill from there, and the match ended with Izuku being the winner.
"That was crazy!" Mina exclaimed as Shinso walked towards the exit under where you were sitting "I would hate to be mind controlled that almost seems like the quirk of a villain!"
"No. Nothing is a quirk of a villain, it's what you do with it that counts and Shinso is going places, I can tell."
The purple haired boy looked up at you and you made eye contact.
Did he hear me?
Then he flashed you a hint of a smile.
Guess so.
In the state you were in, you couldn't care less about seeming like a villain. All that was on your mind was fighting a certain multi colored hair boy, and nothing was going to get in your way.
After a few minuets Izuku joined your class in the audience.
"Deku you did good!"
"Truly admirable."
"I'm so proud of you Izu!"
You, Iida and Ochaco complimented him and invited him to come and sit with you to watch the next match.
"Who's next?" he asked sitting down beside you.
"Sero and Tokoroki."
The two boys faced each other and the moment that Present Mic said 'go' Sero wrapped Todoroki in tape and tried to throw him out of bounds.
Before Todoroki could be moved even a few feet he sent a giant blast of ice at Sero shaking the entire arena.
He enveloped his opponent as well as half of the stadium in ice.
Fuck you Todoroki
You didn't even wait to hear the announcement of Sero's loss, you got up and made your way to the waiting room.
Izuku stared at Todoroki. He had to admit that the boy terrified him but in that moment he couldn't help but think that Todoroki looked sad. Sad and angry.
Izuku had noticed how the other boy's behavior had changed ever since he stopped talking to you. You had changed too, you seemed melancholy and more recently, behind your eyes he could always see anger. He worried for you, which is why earlier he had asked Todoroki why he stopped talking to you.
As much as he hated to admit it, you seemed happier when the multi colored boy was still your friend, and he just wanted you to be happy.
The second you were alone in the hallway you let out a screech.
"I'M GOING TO LOSE MY FUCKING MARBLES!"
You smacked your head firmly against the wall. Everything that Todoroki did infuriated you.
Deep down you knew that the reason you were getting so worked up was because you felt guilty that you couldn't support him, and devastated that the reason he shut you out was because you made him feel weak, but you were just turning all of those emotions into anger.
You hit your head again not even flinching at the pain.
"Y/n."
...
Nope I can't deal with this right now.
You pretended like you didn't hear the number two hero call out to you and casually sprinted down the hallway.
"Y/n!"
Run bitch runnnnn
You got to your assigned waiting room and quickly closed the door.
You were in no way, shape or form able to deal with Endeavor after everything that had been happening.
There was one more match before yours and you would be fighting the winner if you won your round.
Not if I win when I win.
You were enduring a constant whirlwind of emotions today and you needed an outlet, the best emotional outlet in the world? Fighting.
I refuse to take out my anger on Tenya. He did nothing wrong.
You intended to win your next two matches quickly so that you could take everything out Tokoroki instead.
You were really glad that you had been able to sleep, even if it was just for a few minutes. You weren't feeling as tired as you were before so you knew you could get through everything with no problems.
You heard loud cheers coming from above you, so you figured you were up. Taking one last breath to calm yourself, you made your way to the main arena.
You walked out into the center of the stadium once again overwhelmed by the amount of people in the stands.
Don't get nervous now Y/n, just finish this quickly.
Present Mic excitedly yelled his introductions. "It's the kid with engines in his legs from the hero course, Tenya Iida! He will be going against our audience favorite, the girl who knows no limits, Y/n L/n!"
Audience favorite huh? Good for me.
"Because I respect you Y/n, I will finish this quickly."
"I appreciate it Sonic."
"Ready?! And go!"
Tenya immediately came running towards you using his quirk, so you just ran directly away until you reached the end of the zone that counted as in-bounds.
You turned around and put on an expression of shock, Tenya looked confident as he put his arms out to push you over the line but before he could touch you, you side stepped him, sending his running form straight out of bounds.
Gottem
The audience was silent for a moment before they erupted into applause.
"Over in seconds! That Y/n seems to always have a plan folks!"
You walked over to Iida who looked beyond shocked and offered him a smile.
He bowed in return. "Y/n you truly are amazing and I'm glad I had the opportunity to be in a match against you even for a short while!"
"You did great Tenya! You'll get it next time!"
The two of you walked off in separate directions.
That went a lot better than I thought it would. Thanks Sonic.
***
I swear I've seen this hallway four times already.
You sighed, you had been walking around for a long time and by the sounds of it, had missed two or three matches already.
You hadn't seen anyone except for Endeavor, who you once again, ran away from. All the doors you had come across were locked so you were just trying them all.
"You are locked, and you... are also locked. You my friend just happen to be... locked. You are quite obviously... open... Ochaco?"
Your brown haired friend was sitting at a table in the center of the room with her head down on the table.
"Y/n? What are you doing here?"
You gave her one glance and knew she needed a friend right now. "Umm looking for you! How are you feeling?"
"If I'm being honest... I'm completely terrified."
You sat beside her and rubbed her back. "You're going up against Katsuki right?"
She nodded.
"I would be scared too, but if anyone can face him it's you. Ochaco, never worry about failure. It's going to happen. But that's okay... Take chances and you might just find that what feels like failure isn't failure at all. It's what inspires you to dream even bigger."
"Y/n... that was a Kermit quote."
"Hmm?"
"What you just said was a quote from Kermit the frog."
"Stop calling me out! It was still good advise!"
Just then the door opened reveling Iida and Izuku.
"Hey Uraraka- oh hi Y/n I didn't know you'd be here."
"I'm just giving some great advise."
Ochaco giggled at your comment and the two boys looked confused.
"Umm anyway Uraraka, you've helped me so much over the time I've known you so I thought I could help you too."
Izuku held out his hero analysis book "I've got an idea of how you can use your quirk to beat Kacchan."
Ochaco smiled at him "Thank you so much for doing that but no."
Ohhh plot twist
"You're wonderful Deku, I keep seeing that over and over again. During the cavalry battle, I thought it'd be easier to team up with friends, but now that I think about it, I might've been trying to rely on you and Y/n to help me get through. That's why, when Iida said he'd challenge you, it actually made me feel a little embarrassed. Watching Y/n do her best to lead our team to victory only made me feel worse for myself."
She stood up and walked towards the door.
"So it's fine, really. Everyone's facing the future and trying their hardest. That means we're all rivals, right? That's why... Let's meet in the finals!"
She looked terrified but she was trying to smile through it.
"Yesss queeeeen!"

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
