《Snatched》Chapter 22

Todoroki's team stood infront of you, ready to launch themselves forwards at any moment.
Tokoyami widened his stance. "I didn't think this confrontation would happen untill later in the conteset. He seems to have it out for you Midoriya."
Izuku also prepared himself for an attack, "The game is only halfway over, we can't stop now!"
You said nothing. You had nothing to say. It was all you could do to keep a level head.
"Now Iida, forward." Comaded Todoroki.
"Right." Responded Iida blasting his team towards you with his engines.
So they're using the same approach as us, but unstead of floating they're on roller blades.
All of the teams around you came running forward at full speed and you noticed Denki perpare to use his quirk.
"That's not very plus ultra of you Denki!"
Denki's electrisity shocked all of the teams exept for them, you closed your eyes preparing to also get electrocuted but the pain never came.
"Dark Shadow!" Tokoyami exlaimed as the dark bird shielded your team yet again.
Todoroki used his ice to freeze all of the other students in place and create a wall to corner you.
Dark Shadow tried to attack but was stopped by Momo's shield.
Your group skidded to a hault, you were literally backed into a corner. Tokoyami said something about Dark Shadow being timid in light but you were trying to come up with a plan.
No time to think, move!
"Just don't let them come near us and stay on their left side!"
"Got it!"
You managed to stay away from the other team for a full five minutes. Staying on the left made sure that Todoroki wasn't able to use his ice quirk or he'd hit Iida.
Halfway through that time, Iida noticed that you were using his quirk, he must not have realized before. Beause of that his confidence faltered and that made it a lot easier to evade them.
The entire time, you were fuled by white hot rage.
A few weeks ago you would probably be reduced down to tears from what was happening with Todoroki and how you were using other people to help you do well, but you had discovered a new coping mechanism, which you had learned from Katsuki.
Turn all of the pain into anger.
Your team stood a fair distance away from the others, there was just about 60 seconds left.
You picked up on something that Iida was saying, your eyes widened and in a split second their team was on the other side of you, holding Izuku's headband.
You all froze in disbelief, staring blankly at the team who had just stolen ten million points from you.
The crowd broke out into cheers and you held back a scream.
"Y/n are you okay?"
You glared menacingly at Todoroki who stared blankly back at you "I'm going to try something..."
"What do you mean! We can't take any more risks!"
"Izuku we don't know who has the other headbands! This is our only option!"
"...Okay."
You directed your gaze at Iida who immediately realized what you were doing. "Y/n don't! You'll get hurt!"
You didn't care, all you wanted to do was show that little fucker who was better.
You pulled at Iida's quirk until you had enough, and tried to copy his actions from before, directing all of your energy into your legs and suddenly you shot forward.

The pain started immediatly.
You cried out in agony, it felt like your legs were on fire.
You bit your hand to muffle your shouts, drawning blood.
It had worked though, you were right beside Todoroki in a flash, but he did something you could have never predicted.
The boy you new before would have never used his flames. You were able to catch a glimps of Todoroki's face before you passed. He looked just as shocked as you were.
Izuku used his quirk to put out the flames and grab a headband, but because you were going so fast his aim faltered and he couldn't get the top one.
"Time's up!" Present Mic announced.
Izuku face was shadowed, he thought he had grabbed the wrong headband but you knew they wouldn't have put it on the top.
"What's this!?" Present Mic yelled "Team Midoriya seemed to have taken the ten million point headband back from team Todoroki!"
The audience erupted into cheers.
You finaly ran out of energy and stoped right before you went out of bounds, immediately collapsing and hugging your legs to your chest.
"Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck."
Your team gathered around you worriedly.
"Are you okay Y/n!"
"What happened!"
You couldn't answer, the burning in your legs was too much for you to handle. It was not a good idea to pull a stunt like that with no training.
Suddenly a familiar voice was able to get to you through your haze of pain.
"Drop the quirk!"
Oh yeah
You let go of Iida's quirk and the pain immediately went away, leaving you with only exhaustion, sore muscles and a bite mark in your hand.
You uncurled from you ball and shakily stood up with the help of Izuku and Tokoyami.
You refused to look at the person who had been able to get to you.
Fuck you Todoroki.
You hadn't noticed, but the crowd had gone silent so you waved your hand in the air to signal that you were fine.
Once again they all clapped and cheered.
"Now to announce our top teams who will be moving on to the next round! If first place team Midori- Y/n!"
Finally.
"In second place team Todoroki."
They still got second...
Present Mic continued "In third, team Bakugo! In fourth place, team Shinso! Now let's take an hour lunch break!"
Everyone sated clearing out of the stadium to get food.
"Thanks guys but I can walk on my own you know." You smiled at the two boys supporting your weight.
They both took a step back and you regained your balance only wobbling for a second. Your team was pretty ecstatic about winning but you had something to do before you celebrated.
You walked over to Iida as fast as you could, your legs were really sore which slowed you down.
Iida was standing behind Todoroki but you weren't going to let him get in your way again.
You brushed past your former best friend not even glancing his way and he did the same.
For a moment, you felt disappointed. Some part of you must have hoped he would stop ignoring you, but you convinced yourself you didn't care.
"Tenya I am so sorry. I shouldn't have taken your quirk without asking and I should have listened to you, I deeply apologise."

The boy you were addressing studied you for a moment and then sighed adjusting his glasses. "I admit you took me by surprise and I did warn you about recipro burst, but you did what you had to to succeed and I respect that."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Thank you Tenya! You're amazing!" you tackled him into a hug which he willingly returned.
You could feel eyes on the back of your head and you knew exactly who's they were.
Fuck you Todoroki.
***
Well, if I'm being honest I am completely lost.
You had gone off on your own to try and find Recovery Girl so she could give you a bandage for your hand but you weren't paying attention and now you had no idea where you were.
"Hello!?" you yelled hoping someone would hear you, but got no response.
You assumed that you were near the outside of the stadium from the sounds beyond the wall, but you had no idea how to get anywhere without breaking through a wall.
"Is anybody out there!? Can anybody hear me!?"
You chuckled to yourself at your Titanic reference, but there was in fact nobody out there and nobody could hear you.
Well I suppose I live here now. That corner would make a lovely kitchen and that door would be great for a living room not to mention that wall as a...
"A door!"
You tried the door handle and luckily it was unlocked and you could see that it was an exit, but there were people right standing further along having a very quiet conversation.
You were standing in the dark so they couldn't see you but you could see them.
Izuku and Todoroki.
You almost turned around and slammed the door but you couldn't. You inched closer so you could hear what they were saying.
I'm doing this to make sure Izuku doesn't get into trouble... yeah.
Todoroki spoke first "I was overwhelmed, and it made me break the promise I made to myself a long time ago."
He's talking about when he used his fire side on Izuku.
"In that moment nobody else felt the sheer amount of power you were giving off. It reminded me of someting, of experiencing All Might use his quirk."
Even from your hiding place in the dark you could see how scared Izuku looked. "Uh yeah.. Is that all." he said shakily.
"I'm saying... the power coming from you felt the same as All Might's."
Oh no
"Midoriya, tell me... are you really All Might's secret love child or something?"
...
You bit you lip hard to keep yourself from exploding with laughter.
How could he possibly come to that conclusion!?
You doubled over to stop yourself from giving away your hiding spot with your fit of giggles.
Shoto always comes up with the stupidest-
You caught yourself.
I'm glad Todoroki didn't find out the truth about Izuku and All Might.
"Well are you?" Todoroki asked oblivious to the strangeness of what he just asked.
Izuku flailed his arms around "No! No way! That's not it at all! But I guess even if I was, I would totally say I wasn't so you probably won't belive me no matter what I do. Anyway, I promise you've got the wrong idea and... why would you even think that about me?"
"That's not it at all is interesting wording, it suggests there is something between you two that you're not supposed to talk about."
Oh damn the tea is hot!
When Izuku didn't say anything he continued "My father is the hero Endeavor, you must have heard of him, which means you're aware he is the number two hero. So, if you're connected to the number one hero All Might in some way, that would mean I have even more reason to beat you."
You were fixed in place. You'd always been a part of the things that went on in the Todoroki family because their house was your second home. You knew how difficult it was for Todoroki to talk about and be around Endeavor. You didn't know what had been going on for the past few weeks but Todoroki's only support system, you, was gone which, means only bad things were going to happen.
"My old man is ambitious, he aims for the top. He used his power to make a name for himself as a hero but he was never able to best All Might, so the symbol of peace is living proof of his failure. He's still at it though, trying to take down All Might one way or another."
Izuku cut in, "I'm not really sure what you're getting at. What are you trying to tell me Todoroki?"
"Have you ever heard of quirk marriages? They became a problem the first few generations after super powers became widespread. There were those who sought out potential mates solely with the intention of creating powerful children. Many people were forced into relationships, they were simply viewed as old fashion arranged marriages but clearly it was unethical."
You cringed at his words. Your parents, after all, were forced into a quirk marriage. Your Mom was able to nullify someone's quirk like her brother Shota, and your Dad had the ability to temporarily steal someone's quirk. Unlike other quirk marriages your parents were happy. They loved each other and they only had to try once to get the perfect child. That's why your families were so close, you were the only two families in Japan who still wanted to continue on with quirk mariages. The next generation was supposed to be you and Shoto but after your parents died, that idea was cast aside.
Todoroki now spoke with venom in his voice. "My father bought my mothers relatives to get his hands on her quirk and now he's raising me to surpass All Might. It's so annoying! I refuse to be a tool for that scum bag."
I-
"In every memory of my mother I only see her crying. I remember she called my left side unbearable before she poured boiling water on my face."
You felt your heart clench painfully in your chest.
"The reason I picked a fight with you was to show my old man what I'm capable of doing without having to rely on his dammed fire quirk. You see, I'm going to show him that I reject his power and I can take first place without using it."
Todoroki turned to walked away, but Izuku called out to him. "Wait, Todoroki, you asked me a question before... its only fair if I get one in return." Todoroki stopped "Why did you leave Y/n?"
Your breath caught in your throat.
He was silent for a moment before he answered.
"Because she makes me weak."

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
