A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.

"Please, Haley. You need to stop this." (F/n)'s free hand tightened around the counter while Haley remained in the doorway. "We can still work out our plan. Please, I only want to kill the creature."

"Stop it, just stop saying please. I'm not going to listen to your begging. You're its partner. Admit to it already." Haley stepped closer, but the older teen remained where she was.

"I'm not its partner! I was forced to give him shelter so that he wouldn't kill my parents! I already lost my best friend, Haley; I couldn't and can't afford to lose anyone else close to me. You have no idea what h*ll I've been going through." Haley walked forward more. The knife would be at her throat in a few more steps. "I already feel guilty about Laura's death. H*ll, I even feel guilty about that jerk Brent's death, or at least my mind seems to anyway.

"And, this mark on my hand," she released her grip on the counter and pointed to the stitches, "he bit me without my permission. I haven't been feeding him willingly. So, stop accusing me of being his partner! I never will be!"

Haley stood still and didn't lower the knife. "Then, why haven't you killed him?"

"What?" (f/n) asked in disbelief. "Are you kidding me?!" The rage didn't die in the younger teen's gaze, but (f/n) couldn't hold back. Haley's question was simply too ridiculous. "I can't just walk up to him and stab a knife in his back, Haley. You know that! He has taken out countless armed forces on his own. He's highly aware of his surroundings, and he heals at an alarming rate. That's why I needed the sedatives! That's why I still need your help! Ple ... Understand this!"

"I understand that he's powerful and a menace." She relaxed her hold on the knife, and she let out a sigh. "I had understood your plan, and I had given you my trust. But, you still betrayed me. You had known about Dean's death before I had. You've been with the creature longer than this morning. Why can't you just tell me where Dean is? I deserve that much, but you're too scared to tell me because all of your secrets will come out into the open. You keep forgetting that I already know them."

"Just put down the knife, Haley. We can still work this out."

A bitter chuckle left the younger teen. "No, we can't. If you live, the creature won't be weakened. More will only die, but you're the one who should die." Another chuckle left her. "None of us should've been happy about you escaping those tunnels. No one should've listened to you when you told everyone about the creature's weakness. By you escaping the tunnels, you've brought the creature out with you and sent this entire town into a nightmare.

"If you cared for Laura so much, you should've died down there with her. All five of you should've died, and this town would still be safe. Dean would still be safe, but you just had to live. If you had died, your parents would've never been involved either." Haley raised the knife again.

Tears started to form in the corners of (f/n)'s eyes, and she shouted, "It's not wrong to want to live, Haley! Do I regret leaving Laura's body behind? Yes, I do. I hated having to see her in such a state, but I had known that I still had a chance to live. I had warned her about going into the tunnels, but I still had gone in after her because she was my friend. I had done all that I could for her, and I couldn't save her. I can save my parents now, though, and I'm not going to let you ruin that! I've sacrificed too much already."

"Oh, you sacr ..."

"Now, you shut up! You act all high and mighty, but you would've done the same for Dean. Had you made it out of those tunnels and the creature had delivered the same threat to you, you would've done the same. You know that! Now, put down the knife already and help me get rid of the problem!"

"You're wrong. I would've grabbed Dean and left town. I would've ... What does it matter?" Her eyes narrowed. "I don't need to tell you. I don't need to convince you of anything. You shouldn't have left the tunnels. You shouldn't have involved me in your plan."

"Haley ..." (F/n) darted to her left and dodged the oncoming knife. She swung the razor at Haley's back, but the younger's arm swept up and slammed against the elder's inner wrist. The knife barely missed the elder's face, and the razor went flying.

Not having time to pick it up, (f/n) darted from the room and back down the hallway. Haley was right on her tail. (F/n) raced down the stairs, but the younger sat on the railing and slid down. The younger landed at the bottom of the steps, and the elder stopped. Swiftly, the elder turned and bolted right back up the stairs.

"Not happening!" Haley yelled before she reached out and grabbed (f/n)'s right leg. She tugged, and the elder fell flat onto the steps. The younger marched up the steps, ready to plunge the blade into the elder's back. (F/n), however, wrenched her ankle free and rolled onto her back. Her (e/c) eyes locked onto the fast approaching knife.

Hurriedly, (f/n) wrapped her hands around Haley's wrist. The elder managed to hold the blade back, but Haley's free hand went to retrieve the knife. Swiftly, the elder kicked her left leg out. It impacted the younger's shins, and the younger lost her balance on the stairs. Haley fell back and collided with the ground below while the knife flew out of her hand and landed a little distance away.

(F/n) stood and raced down the stairs towards it. Haley, however, tripped her, and the elder impacted the ground. A groan left the elder's lips while Haley threw herself towards the knife. Her right hand latched around it, and she swung it backwards. That time, it met flesh.

A cry rang throughout the house. (F/n) had been picking herself up only for the knife to swipe across her left shoulder. The elder's hand pressed itself to the wound before she got to her feet and took a couple steps back. It didn't help that her back started to hurt again. Her whole body was simply exhausted from everything.

Standing to her feet too, Haley wasn't pleased. She had been hoping for a more fatal blow. The elder, though, wasn't going to give up. If Haley refused to back down, she would do the same. Again, the younger charged. (F/n) ran to her right and for the kitchen. Haley spun on her heel and was on her tail once more.

Feet sliding across the tile, (f/n) reached for the nearest item. Her hand never touched it, though. Rather, Haley grabbed a hold of her shirt and tugged her back. The knife ascended over the elder's form and aimed for her chest. Once again, (f/n) wrapped her hands around the younger's wrist. She held the knife back, but the younger used her free hand to punch the elder in the midsection.

Breath caught in (f/n)'s throat, and she felt that she might cough up blood. Her grip loosened on Haley's wrist, and the knife rushed forward. Barely, (f/n) dodged the fatal blow, but a scream parted from her. The knife lodged itself in her already wounded shoulder. Haley twisted the blade and dug it in further. Another cry exited (f/n). Tears rolled down her cheeks.

Ripping the knife out, Haley pushed (f/n) forward. The elder collapsed to her knees and supported herself up on her hands. She turned around in time, however, and the knife missed her head by a few inches. (F/n) pulled on Haley's arm and tugged her to the ground. Haley slid into the cupboards, but she recovered quickly and kept (f/n) on the ground with her.

Close enough, Haley plunged the blade forward and into (f/n)'s other shoulder. Shouting, (f/n) gripped Haley's wrist and forced the blade out. More blood stained her, but she banged her head against Haley's. It hurt them both, but it stalled the younger for long enough. (F/n) reached for the knife, but Haley leaned forward and bit the elder's arm.

Yelling, (f/n) tried to get Haley off, but the younger wouldn't budge. Instead, she raised the knife again and jabbed it into the elder's left thigh. Crimson decorated almost her whole body, but (f/n) refused to lose the fight. The elder formed a fist and punched Haley in the midsection. Finally, Haley released the knife and her arm; however, Haley shoved herself against (f/n).

They slid across the tile. Haley reached for the knife, but (f/n) pushed the younger off of her. The elder managed to get to her feet even with her protesting thigh. Her hands retrieved the frying pan. When the younger turned to face the elder, the elder swung the pan. It collided with the younger's head. Again, Haley dropped the knife.

Falling forward, Haley landed face first on the tile. No blood escaped her head, but she was out. (F/n) dropped the pan before she collapsed to her knees. She caught her breath, but she was losing too much blood. When she attempted to pick herself back up, she fell down again. Her body argued against any movement, and she was beginning to feel dizzy.

Her head leaned to the side and hit one of the cabinets. (F/n)'s eyes steadily closed, but her ears picked up soft footfalls on the stairs. They neared the kitchen, and she saw a blurry image of bare, deathly pale feet.
