《Infectious Intent (M. Yandere x F. Reader)》The Harshest Emergency

A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.

Carrying her in his arms, Nick rushed through the hospital doors with (f/n). "She needs treatment now! She's almost dead!" he called, which alerted the nurses in the area. The fact that he been carrying a woman with a bloody leg had already drawn attention on its own. Nick didn't care if other people stared; she needed help.

Nurses rushed over with a gurney, and Nick placed her down. As they took her off to the emergency room, he followed closely behind. At a certain point, a few nurses stopped him and indicated for him to take a seat. He didn't oblige them and stood standing. His hands combed through his hair roughly as he was pestered with various questions about what had happened. He was tempted to yell at them, but he refrained and remained quiet until he was calm.

Settling down, he looked over to the two nurses. All he had to say was two words. "The creature." Immediately, a deadly silence swept over the hallway. The nurses glanced at each other. It didn't matter that Nick hadn't called the creature a murderer, killer, etc. They knew what he meant.

"Then, you ..." The nurse pointed a little before they glanced back to the emergency room. "And her ... But how?"

"I don't know, and I don't care. It doesn't matter. Just make sure she lives. Both of us have through enough sh*t already. She doesn't need to die after all of this."

The second nurse coughed awkwardly. Clearly, they wanted to know more about the escape, but they were forcing their questions aside. "Does she have any family here in town?"

"Yes, her parents are here. They run the funeral home ... Carnation Hills." The second nurse nodded and headed off to the front desk to have the call be placed. Nick finally took a seat and covered his face with his hands. Still, he couldn't take a break. He didn't know if (f/n) would make it. His eyes met the orbs of the first nurse, and they awkwardly walked off.

This didn't bother him as he wanted to be alone; he didn't wish to be questioned on the tunnels. He had experienced enough of that place, and he didn't need to relive the memories. Hopefully, (f/n) would live and make a swift recovery by tomorrow. Then, he could get out of town and head back to his apartment in the next town over. Realistically, he would have to move from there eventually if he didn't want the press at his doorstep every morning. Brent would've been better suited for that.

He leaned over as tears started to form. The deadly chase had ended, and the death of his three friends was beginning to weigh in on him. Money for information on the creature would be rewarded to him, and he would gain fame in the paranormal world, but his friends were gone. It would be easy to find people willing to join him for a new team, but it wouldn't be the same.

What was even worse was that he couldn't even bury his friends. Their bodies were left to rot in those d*mnable tunnels. Tara's wasn't, but he wouldn't be surprised if the creature had moved it by now. She had been so close to escaping with them. Now, he only had the image of her being stabbed on repeat in his head, and the snow reminded him of crimson.

Soft footfalls hit his ears. Immediately, he shot up out of his seat and glanced up. A nurse, frightened, took a couple of steps back from him. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." She calmed down some and held out a clipboard. "Since you brought her in, I'll need you to fill out some information."

His gaze passed onto the object. The nurse was only following her job, but he had no desire to do anything. He simply wanted to sit and not be bothered. Reluctantly, he took it as she passed him a pen. She took a hesitant step forward. "Please don't ask me anything about the creature. I'm not in the mood." He looked up to her momentarily. "I just lost three friends, and I don't know if she's going to die."

Stepping back, she intertwined her hands in front of her. "Sorry." Her gaze switched to the floor. "Would you like anything to drink?" Nick finished the paperwork and handed it back to her. She took it in her hands and moved away from him again.

"No, it's fine. Thank you." She nodded and headed off. He leaned back against the chair and rested his head on the wall. The tears wanted to keep coming. Closing his eyes, he allowed sleep to come over him. When he next awoke, he saw the same nurse standing before him.

Her hand instantly withdrew from his right shoulder. "Sorry, Mr. Calamiss." He was about to ask her how she knew his last name until he recalled the clipboard. She took a few nervous steps back. "I came to inform you that Ms. (L/n) is recovering in room 405. Her mother has arrived and would like to meet you."

Practically throwing himself out of the chair, he thanked her and headed off to the elevators. The sleep that remained in his eyes quickly vanished. When he exited the elevator on the fourth floor, he sped off to her room and stopped in front of the door. He saw an older woman in a chair, and her back was turned to him. Her hair, though, was near identical in shade to (f/n)'s but a little darker.

Quietly, he opened the door to her room and closed it behind him. The woman looked back to him before she stood up from her chair. "You must be Nick." Before he could even nod his head, the woman walked over and hugged him. It was awkward, but he steadily hugged back. "Thank you for bringing my daughter to safety. We were so worried when we found her missing from the house." She stepped back from him and smiled before she returned to her chair.

As he pulled up a chair next to her, he looked over at (f/n). She was unconscious, but her breathing had stabilized, and color was beginning to return to her. "I apologize that my friends and I were the cause of your daughter entering the tunnels. We should've listened to her when she warned us not to go in. Now ..."

"I don't need to hear it." She let out a sigh and pushed some loose strands of hair behind her right ear. "You got my daughter to safety, and that's what counts. I'm not going to sit here and yell at you for going into that wretched place. You have your friends to grieve, and I don't want to imagine the horrors that you all went through." Looking over to him, she gave him a comforting smile. "If you want to leave, I understand. My husband should be here shortly, and we can handle things from here. You don't need to worry anymore."

A small smile fell on his lips. "Thank you, but I think that I'm going to stay the night here. I'll leave in the morning." An image of the creature flashed through his mind. "I don't really want to head back out into the night."

Understanding, she glanced back to her daughter. "I take it that the murderer isn't dead, then."

"No, he's ... it's too strong. We barely escaped. I'm sure that you saw the beaten up car on your way in. That's its doing." The woman tightened her hold on the chair's armrests. "And, it's able to heal itself quickly too. It should've had wounds on its arms, but they were gone. Just whatever you do, don't drive down that road by the woods at night. It's probably enraged that (f/n) and I escaped, so I won't be surprised if it attacks anyone who goes down that way."

The mother mumbled something under her breath. "Does it have any weaknesses?"

"Light. It's very sensitive to it. It can adjust to it, though. So if you have to face it for an extended period of time, you have to somehow keep increasing the brightness. I doubt that it'll be able to move around in daytime, though. I just hope that it goes back into the tunnels and stays there. If it comes out ..." Nick didn't want to know the calamity that it might cause. This gave him all the more reason to distance himself from the creature.

Standing up from her chair, she headed towards the door. "I'm going to head down to their cafeteria. Is there anything that you would like?"

"Anything is fine. Thank you." She nodded and headed out of the room. Nick peered over to the windows. Steadily, he stood to his feet and went over to them. His eyes scanned over the parking lot, which wasn't that full. There were lights throughout it, though, and he didn't see anyone suspicious lurking in the shadows. He looked out to the trees in the distance and shivered. Never would he step into a forest again.

Behind him, he heard a moan. Instantly, he turned around and saw that (f/n) was beginning to stir. He returned to his chair and brought it closer to her bedside. When her (e/c) eyes opened, she groaned a bit before she met his gaze. "Nick? ... Did we make it, or ... am I dreaming?"

After a light chuckle escaped his lips, he answered, "You're alive. Your mother is here and getting some food. Your father will be here shortly." She leaned her head back more into the pillow and smiled. Her eyes closed once more. "Is there anything you need, (f/n)?"

"No, I'm fine. If my mom is bringing food, I can wait." She let out a laugh. "I'm just so glad to be done with all of that. We're alive." (F/n) opened her eyes. "That's pretty exciting news." Looking over her surroundings, she frowned briefly. "We should turn on more lights, though." Nick couldn't agree more, and he headed over to the light switch before he flipped it on.
