《Infectious Intent (M. Yandere x F. Reader)》The Greatest Appetite

A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.
Puffs of white fluff rose into the air as her attempt at a mad dash failed miserably. With a face full of snow, she steadily managed to push herself up onto her knees, but that maneuver wasn't fast enough. The wrought iron gate opened, and the creature had full access to her. She didn't look back, though; she was tempted. (F/n) got back onto her feet and reached for the nearest tree, but she had lost the rock due to the fall.
Her hands grabbed the lowest branch, and she lifted herself up. The sound of the air being ripped through was right beneath her, and her (e/c) eyes caught sight of sharp nails flying past. Not waiting around to see if it could climb, she went higher. Only when she was several branches up did she peer back down.
It seemed as though her heart stopped when she met the gaze of the creature. When she heard it beat again, it was pumping itself on the fuel of fear. The cold around her felt sharper as though it had penetrated her skin and mixed with her bloodstream. Eyes so pale that one could barely distinguish the faint amount of blue pigment in their irises stared back at her. Even their pupil was an extremely pale grey. They appeared like they would turn into wisps of smoke and wrap her in the claws of death's embrace.
Needing to look away, she found herself looking to the creature's left hand. Long and thick nails draped down from their fingers. Flecks of red painted them and traveled some distance up their long arm. Their other arm was just as lengthy, but their hand lacked the murderous blades. They finally turned around, much to her relief, and headed back inside of the tunnels. Before they disappeared back into the darkness, they peered over their right shoulder and displayed a row of human teeth. Crimson decorated a few of them. That smile only increased her horror tenfold. In that one look, the creature had made it quite clear that she would be killed by its hands.
The creature vanished back into the terrifying tunnels, but the gate remained open. Laura was still in there, but she could get back out now. (F/n) was incredibly eager to get down from the tree and make a run back for her car. She could wait for Laura there, but her friend could be cornered and need assistance. Then again, Laura had run off without really saying anything. Yes, she had to get away from the creature, and now the gate was back open, but she wondered if Laura would leave her behind like that again. She cared for her friend, but she wished to live as well. Her own survival instinct was beginning to kick in.

Deciding to not enter that place, she resolved that she would wait by the tree she was in. If she went in, the creature might lock her in as well. She would be handing herself over on a silver platter to that thing. She lowered herself down from the tree but kept close to the trunk. There was no need to go a step closer.
Hands trembling and cold, she placed them under her armpits. Her breath fanned out into the air, and, for a second, she thought that the tunnels might be warmer. The idea instantly evaporated, though, from the fear still coursing through her veins. She reminded herself that her car had heat.
As she was about to lean her head against the trunk of the tree, her attention snapped back to the tunnels. There, in the doorway, stood the creature again. Its long nails tapped against the doorway. Its right index finger indicated for her to come inside. She reached for the tree to climb it again, but the creature didn't walk this time.
In a mad sprint, it came dashing for her. With no time to raise herself up, she hurled herself to her left. She rolled into the snow, but she had dodged the attack. Its attempts at her life, however, probably wouldn't be in short supply. (F/n) used a nearby tree for support to get back onto her feet more swiftly. Unfortunately, speed wasn't on her side that evening.
A hand clamped around her right wrist and roughly lifted her up. Their sharpened nails were in clear sight and a few inches from her. They raised themselves higher, and all of her fright bottled itself up into one deafening scream. In her panicked state, she took whatever defense mechanism came to mind first. Knee aiming forward, she hit his groin. Freed, he dropped her to the snow, and she crawled away as she tried to get back on her feet. Successful of doing so, she ran in the direction that she was facing. To her utter dismay, that led her to the tunnels. Already, the creature was close on her heels. Once again, she wouldn't have time to climb a tree. She could run around the building, but with how wide it was and how fast the creature was gaining on her, she doubted that she would make it far.
With soaring trepidation, she raced into the dreaded tunnels. She spun on her heel and grabbed the gate. Her hands clung to the handle for dear life as the creature practically collided with it. The bars were too close together for him to reach through, but his strength was another question. He grabbed the handle on the other side and tugged.

Barely, she held it closed. Another tug greeted her, and the creature's fingernails reached for her. If she held onto the gate, she would be stabbed. With little choice, she let go and darted further in. She could hear the gate creaking open more behind her. Her feet carried her farther as she heard the gate being locked again.
Hope of living through the night seemed snuffed out, but she didn't give up. She would keep running until she found a hiding spot or something to help her out of the place. Her sprint left her in a place with an unsettling decision. To her left, there was a staircase leading down, but that was the only option unless she wished to turn back.
Listening for soft footsteps, she didn't hear any. The creature had no reason to hurry, though. She was trapped in his territory; she was easy prey. Still, she wouldn't go back towards him. (F/n) headed down the stairs, her flashlight guiding her steps. Thankfully, the creature hadn't ripped the much needed device from her.
At the bottom, she froze. Right next to her, she heard dripping. It was a little distance off, but it was nearing her; it was impossible that the sound was coming from the creature. The thing had been behind her unless there was another way to this section of the tunnels. Had he killed someone? Was that his blood running down his fingernails?
Relief washed over her, however, when light met her. She pointed her flashlight towards the source and recognized a familiar face. It was one of Laura's teammates. Nearing her, she could see the large gash marks on his left shoulder, which extended down to his upper chest. Nick covered the wounds with his free hand, and he looked incredibly relieved as well. "I'm so happy to see another person down here," he voiced quietly and stepped closer. His eyes squinted some. "You're Laura's friend, right? (F ...)"
"It's (F/n). I got a hold of Laura, but things turned out for the worse upon my arrival. She ran off somewhere. I don't know where." (F/n) didn't even know if Laura was still alive. She hoped that she was, but the creature was a formidable foe. If any of them made out of the tunnels alive, they would be supremely lucky.
"Then, she might still be alive. Good. I thought that I was the last one." He stood right by her now, and he tried to apply more pressure to his wounds. "Did you see where the creature went?"
"No, I was just running. I didn't look back." Her eyes couldn't stay away from staring at the cuts. They required tending; he had probably already lost a lot of blood. "What about the others, Brent and ..." She couldn't remember the other girl's name for a moment. " ... Tara?"
"The creature went after Brent first. It got him at one point, and I haven't seen him since. I kept running. Tara, Laura and I all got separated along the way; the creature made sure of that. I've been looking for some bandages, though, since I haven't been able to figure a way out. That thing stole my lock picking gear."
He made a good point. There was no use in heading to the gate without a known way of getting out. They had to find some things in the tunnels. "Let's see if we can find a kitchen or bathroom. These tunnels were meant to house people in the past. There has to be one of each in here."
"I found two bathrooms already, but they weren't in working condition. Any supplies that would've been in there are long gone. Guessing by the thing's intelligence, it might've moved them to one location that it keeps a close eye on. It wouldn't want us repairing ourselves."
"Well, maybe, he forgot something. It's unlikely, but we don't have many other options. And, I doubt that you want to bleed out." Her eyes examined the wounds again, and blood still dripped to the ground. Nick was appearing more drained by the moment.
"He?" He paused for a moment before seeming to make a connection and pushing his confusion aside. "Right, it might be better than being stabbed by that thing. You didn't see what we saw when we first got here." Disgust and nausea crossed his countenance for a moment. She could only imagine what it must have been. Thankfully, she hadn't seen it; she had been too busy running for her life. "We should get moving, though. That creature could reveal itself at any time." (F/n) posed no disagreement to that suggestion.

Hello ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to my first attempt at writing a novel. I am preparing to participate in the 2017 NaNoWriMo event so enjoy the first chapter as that's here early only to ensure that I have a place to post once the event starts. This means the first novel/book will have a target of 50,000 words. I'm excited to attempt this challenge despite the hurdles I will have to overcome. I do have a demanding full time job so planning time to write and make weekly releases starting in November will be my biggest challenge. Also, please accept my apologies on my cover. I'm not an artist and the only digital tool available at my disposal is the stock microsoft paint. So I did my best to create a decent cover as I did not want to steal the work of another. If there are those interested by the end of November in donating a new fan made cover then I will look into replacing the old cover.
