《grass whistle ~ poetry》The Sparrow Rant

Oh you sparrow!

Irritating, annoying, vexing,

You and your nest,

Unknown of my human nature,

Human hexing,

Hypocrisy at its best

Are you hard of hearing?

Or only deaf to my words?

Do you realise? I am a human and you're just a bird.

I shoo you from here,

You fly off to there,

Ingraining your claws in MY house,

How you dare!

At your will you soar the skies,

At your will you're back to MY house,

At your will you scatter toothpaste(?)

At your will you invite your spouse!

Obstruct the Window with my mattress?

Shut the door?

Or spread a mat of bird traps all over the floor?

Nothing works!

The door of my house

Is not the door of my heart,

That I can always keep shut,

Many guests I can't keep apart.

The window of my house

Is not the window of my soul,

That I can keep from enlightening,

But the sparrow slips through the hole!

This season again, in MY room,

She'll build her nest,

And give birth to cute chicks

That'll gather me likes on the internet.

I always screamed at her,

I am a human!

Fear me!

And she would be afraid, if she finally decides to hear me!

But immortal is her faith,

No symptoms of being afraid,

Collecting individual blades of grass,

A beautiful nest she made.

Probably the best architect,

An engineer, without a degree,

Your home is full of heart,

Coming from me,

A heart amputee.

It seems to me, in your small nest,

In this small containment,

All the joys of life'd be lent,

All kinds of entertainment!

But this cleanness conscious man,

This socially 'civilised' man,

Of your stinky nest in the corner,

I am not a big fan!

I have a poster of you on my wall,

Of a cute sparrow couple and their baby, but it's best kept to a poster,

So, shift your house maybe?

Sparrow!

Run!

As far,

As fast,

Maybe the big apple,

Maybe big Ben,

Or maybe Belfast!

Everyone is not like me,

My kindness quickly declines,

You'd be welcomed, not dragged off,

Unless you're on United Airlines!
