*NOT EDITED*
"Where are we going today again?" Rohan asks from the bathroom across from my bed.
I sit on my elbows and look inside the bathroom, "Philadelphia. Mom's side. Tomorrow we're going to Bridgeport."
He nods as he continues shaving. He looks over, "Are you going to start getting ready?"
I smirk, "I'm enjoying the view." Said view is Rohan in a towel.
His eyes go back to me. I just smile an innocent smile. Rohan groans before shutting the door.
I laugh as I sit up completely and off the bed, I go to my suitcase. I do have clothes here but I'd bought somethings in Chicago for these dinners.
I grab my sweater dress and change into them just as Rohan steps out of the bathroom, to my dismay in boxers.
As I pass him he catches me by the waist and plants a kiss on my lips that promises more to come.
I walk into the bathroom and quickly put my hair into loose curls and when I walk back out of the bathroom Rohan is changed into slacks and a button down.
I lean against the frame. I whistle.
He looks over, "Are you cat calling me?"
I smirk, "If I am?" I push off the frame. "Are you ready for chaos?" I ask walking over to my knee high boots.
"Chaos?"
I slip on the first boot. "Yeah, 5 kids in one room." Zip it up.
He chuckles, "You should see my family." I hear him mutter.
I slip on the second boot. "How big?" Zip it up.
"Well my mom has 6 siblings."
I looks up in awe. "That's 7 in total."
"Yep. I have 17 cousins in total."
"Holy fuck. I can barely handle 5. Are they all Italian?" I ask going to grab my purse.
"Yeah." He shrugs, "Who knows, I might have more on my dad's side."
Before I could answer Mom yells from downstairs that it's time to go.
The ride to Philadelphia is about an hour so we left at 4 and get there at 5 ish. The first thing my grandma does is hug me tight.
"Oh, Katie, I missed you so much." She emphasises by squeezing.
"I missed you too, Mim."
Mim lets go and then I'm being hugged by my grandpa, Pip.
As Pip let's go I hear a squeal and then I'm being trampled by Clara. "Katie!" She jumps into my arms as I catch her. She hugs my neck.

I look back to Rohan, "Mim, Pip this is my boyfriend, Rohan." I introduce them.
Rohan smiles as he shakes Pip's hand but Mim brings him in for a hug.
But Clara is eyeing him with judgement in her eyes. "Boyfriend? So like you guys love each other?"
I smirk as Clara scrutinizes Rohan. He grins, "What do you think?"
She purses her lips, "Well... Uh. I don't know."
"I'll keep you updated Clara." Rohan says putting his hands in his pocket.
She's back to scrutinizing him, "How do you know I'm Clara?"
He looks as if he's wounded, "Because I feel it here." He pats his chest. He also know the difference because I told him clues. Like how Clara's hair is a tad shade lighter than Ciara's. How Ciara has a birth mark on the corner of her lip that Clara doesn't have.
I bounce Clara, bringing her attention back to me, "Where is Ciara?"
She glowers at Rohan before looking at me. She smiles, "Living room."
I nod and start walking over to the living room with Rohan behind me. I lower Clara to the ground just as I feel another small body attack me. This time I end up tumbling to the ground not so gracefully with Ciara on my stomach.
"Kat!" She shouts hugging my neck even if we're in an awkward position.
"Ciara, girl your crushing me." I say as she gets lifted off me by my Uncle Thomas.
I stand up and smile at my Uncle, "Hey Uncle T." I side hug him before turning to my Aunt Leillani. I hug her. I turn to them, "This is Rohan━"
Clara interrupts me, "Her boyfriend."
Aunt Leillani grabs Clara by the waist and hauls her to her, tickling her. "What did we talk about?"
Clara giggles. "Manners." She says trying to make a straight face. She turns around, looks at Rohan and me, "I'm sorry."
Leillani smiles as she looks up to Rohan, "Hey Rohan, I'm Leillani."
Uncle T lets Ciara on the ground, "I'm Thomas."
Rohan nods and shakes Uncle T's hand. As they shake hands Dad and Pip walk into the living room. "Your a hockey player right? Like Katie?"
Rohan and I sit down on one of the couches in the family room. "Yeah."
Pip nods as he sits in his recliner. "How long have you and Katie been dating?"
He leans more into me subconsciously. "Well about 3 weeks but I've liked her longer than that. It took my friends to make me realise that."

Before Pip can answer Clara pipes up, "Why'd it take your friends to realize that you like Katie?"
He turns his attention to her, "Because I was....not very smart." He says instead of swearing.
Apparently this appeases Clara because she nods and smiles faintly. As you can see Clara is blunt child, worse than I was. I'd developed a filter but before, god I was almost as bad as her. But her bluntness can be funny.
Leilani turns to me, "Oh yeah, you know how we're getting Clara and Ciara baptised early?" I nod. "Well it's happening on the 22 of December, do you think you can make it?"
I immediately nod, "Yeah, for sure." Me and Logan are Clara's godparents and Leilani's brother and sister in law are Ciara's.
Speaking of which I hear more voices from the kitchen that are getting closer.
The first one through the door is Samuel. He smiles as he walks over to Pip first to hug him. Grandpa's boy. The next to walk through the door is Logan with Vivienne on his hip. Her whole face lights up as she sees Clara and Ciara.
Logan lowers her to the ground. She runs to Clara and Ciara. I laugh as they are off to the living room with their toys.
I stand and walk towards Logan. Out of all my cousins, me and Logan are closest in age which means were closer than ever. He spent most of his childhood at my house or the other way around. When I wasn't playing hockey.
I embrace Logan tightly, "Hey Lo," I say as I step back. God damn he's tall. Guess that's a necessity when your a basketball player.
He smiles, "Hey Katie." His gaze goes behind me where Rohan is now standing.
I step out of the way, "This is Rohan, my boyfriend."
Logan sizes him up before reaching out his hand, "Hey. Logan."
Rohan shakes his hand.
Then I feel someone hugging my side. I look over and see Samuel looking up to me, I smile down at him or rather not that down, he's almost at my chest. "Hey Sam."
He smiles, "Hey Katie."
I haven't seen my extended family since summer so I tighten the hug for another second before letting go.
"How's school going?"
He pushes his glasses back up his nose, "Good. I just got a 96 on a math quiz."
I roll my eyes playfully, "Obviously, your smarter than me." He laughs.
And then for the next hour we talk in the family room. At one point Clara, Ciara and Vivienne walk in the room and grab mine, Rohan, Lo and Sam and bring us to the living room.
Ciara makes me and Sam play 'house' while Clara is asking Rohan questions like 'why is your hair brown' or 'why's your name spelt with a H'. I smother a laugh as her question get more blunt and funny.
Lo has been dragged back in the family room or rather kitchen by Mim. He has table setting duty.
All of a sudden I hear a squeal. I look over and see Clara over Rohan's shoulder as he spins in place. She's laughing like crazy.
Rohan pauses spinning to shift her so she sitting on his shoulders then he resumes spinning. As I observe them I realize he's really good with kids but then I almost smack myself.
Of course he's good with kids, he has 17 cousins!
But I can't help the warmth that fills my heart and the smile from spreading on my lips. I know what that warmth is but I don't have the courage to tell him. What if he doesn't feel the same?
I'm drawn out of my zone when Mim yells that dinner is ready.
Rohan doesn't even put Clara down until were in the dinning room. Me and Rohan sit beside each other with Lo on my left and Ro on my right. I smile, Ro and Lo.
Just as I'm about to take a bite of mashed potatoes Uncle Joey says something to me that has my heart stilling.
"So I hear you have contract offers but haven't accepted?" He says from across the table.
I swallow my bite of potatoes. But as I'm about to say something dad interrupts me, "Oh I didn't tell you? She accepted Boston Prides offer."
Just as the words leave dad's mouth I feel Rohan still from beside me. I can feel his gaze on my face as my family congratulates me. I laughs awkwardly, "How'd you know dad?" I ask while avoiding Rohan's gaze.
Dad take a sip of his water, "An old teammate of mine."
I nod.
I accidentally catch Rohan's gaze but quickly look back down at my plate. What I saw in his eyes was confusion and a little bit of anger.
And my heart breaks at what else I saw. Hurt.

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
It is about a London lawyer named Gabriel John Utterson who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll, and the evil Edward Hyde. The novella's impact is such that it has become a part of the language, with the very phrase "Jekyll and Hyde" coming to mean a person who is vastly different in moral character from one situation to the next.------------I do not own or did not write this story. It is a copy of Original Book that I have uploded to help spread the book to wider audiences. Hope you enjoy.

Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.
