Guys My Age - Hey Violet

He was being weird.

That was the conclusion she came too after observing him for hours in his office. A book in hand. Perching on velvet sofa overlooking the courtyard. She was completely ignoring the words in front of her and used it as a cover up to glimpse at him. Trying to decipher him was like completing an impossible puzzle.

Last night, she thought he'd take her the way he liked, raw, hard and fast. She didn't expect for him to take his hands out of her pants and rolled to the other side of the bed. And, putting a decent amount of distance between them.

"Why are you staring at me?" He suddenly asked, never taking his eyes off the documents he was scanning.

"I'm not." She denied too quickly for it to be believable.

"That book is in Spanish, you don't know Spanish." He pointed, cocking an eyebrow. "I don't see how it would interest you, besides I can feel your eyeballs burning into my skull."

She pursed her lips and returned to her book, pretending to understand what the words meant. In her peripheral vision, she spotted Gideon slanting his eyes at her, chuckling lowly. Frowning, she closed her book.

She had a lot of questions, especially about his strange behaviour and her lack of punishment.

Biting her lip, she finally spoke up, "Are you still mad at me?"

"Why would I be mad at you?" He said, straightening up his document.

"You know why so, stopping pretending you aren't." She snapped. She crossed her arms over her chest, averting her gaze to the floor. He was still too intimidating for her to look at directly. "If you're going to do what you did last time just do it now, I don't want to wait."

He stood and stalked to her. Her pulsed race and the air around her became to thick to swallow. Regret seized her body and she mentally scolded herself for even bringing it up. She should've just been pleased he didn't tried anything.

She flinched as he got closer but he never grabbed her. Instead, he exited the room and slammed the door shut behind him. Once the barriers between them were up and sturdy, Rory sighed in relief. She was an idiotic to even bring it up, particularly the tone she used on him.

From her view, she spotted Gideon cross the courtyard and exited the house. His face was twisted in anger. She fucked up; without a doubt he was far more angry at her than he was a moment ago.

The inevitable awaited her but how long was it going to take for him to explode.

~*~

Rory wandered the mansion for the rest of the day. Most of the rooms were locked except for an old nook library, a few empty bedrooms and Gideon's office. Most of the furniture was covered by a white sheet and thick layers of dust.

It was clear the mansion wasn't in use. So, why did Gideon choose to stay here? He had a private suite in his own hotel.

Bored, Rory headed downstairs and the moment, she reached the foyer, the front door opened.

Gideon stepped through the door and threw his keys into a fruit bowl like he had done it so many times before. His jaw tightened and he picked the keys back up, shoving them into his jacket.

From that action alone, the mansion was worth more than she initially thought.

"Are you hungry?" He asked, spotting her standing at the bottom of the staircase.

He observed her again with that longing look in his his eyes. Gideon made no move to approach her. He headed for the old, rustic kitchen instead where Rory followed behind him cautiously. Taking slow steps unsure if she really wanted to be near him.

Immediately, he began working in the working while she watched, perched on a stool, near the kitchen island. It was a pretty kitchen, she noted, drinking in the pastel green cabinets and grey marble countertops. It was homely.

"Where did you go?" She courageously asked him when he set her plate in front of her.

"For a drive." He answered, taking a seat beside her.

Rory picked up her cutlery and dug into her rice, smiling as her tastebuds approved of Gideon's cooking.

"Was it work?"

"No, it was just to clear my head." He told her truthfully.

His therapist advised him to try different - useless - techniques to resolve his anger issues. Counting to 10, breathing and visualising peace techniques. They were all pointless and ineffective; and made him angrier.

Thus, he hopped into a German sports car and sped down the empty roads over 120mph. That was what brought him calm and peace; the adrenaline and the danger of it all. He was fucked up and it wasn't really something he could change.

"Are you still mad at me then?" She asked quietly.

"No, I'm not." He admitted.

Gideon hadn't been mad at her for awhile. Perhaps, a week ago he wanted to teach her a lesson or two hence, why he put some distance between them in order to spare her from his wrath. Rory, he found, was too precious to him. He loved her so much it was becoming unbearable; eating and swallowing him whole.

And, it cut him like a sharp blade that she didn't love him back as equally.

She nodded, smiling as she took another bite of her food. He couldn't suppressed the smile tugging at his lips. Just seeing her happy, even a little, pulled at his heart strings.

"I'm trying to be better for you." He confessed.

Her spoon paused midair and she met his intense gaze. Rory placed her spoon down and cocked her head to the side, confused.

"I'm sorry, Rory." He blurted, reaching for her hand and caressing the tan lines where her ring sat. He had them in his pocket and intended to place them back where they belong. "I'm sorry for everything I've done to you."

Bring her hand to his lips, he placed a gentle, chaste kiss on them. It's been years since he apologised to anyone. The last time he did was to his sisters for killing their father and the time before that, he couldn't recall. Or, perhaps he never apologised before.

He pulled the rings from his jacket and before he could return them to where they belong, Rory snatched her hand away.

"What games are you playing?" She questioned. The first time they met, Gideon told her he wasn't a kind man and he wasn't going to change for anyone not even her.

His apologised, she didn't believe a single word.

"I'm not playing any games." He huffed.

She observed him, tracing his features with her eyes trying to find a hint that he was lying. There was nothing but he had always been good at hiding his emotions.

"Give me your hand." He ordered, reaching for her wrists.

"No." She stopped him and moved away from the island. "You're sorry, right?" She questioned, testing the waters before she jumped in.

"I said that I was."

"Then let me go." She pleaded. "If you're sorry then just let me be free."

"You are free." He glowered, striding towards her.

Rory took several steps away until her back hit the edge of the countertops. The thick blanket of murder and malice wrapped around him was clear. She felt it radiating off him and seeping into her skin. Gideon wasn't sorry nor was he trying to be a better person.

Because he could never be those things.

"I'm not free." She swallowed. "I've never been free not even when I lived with my father. He kept me in a cage, he was embarrassed of me. I never had any friends or dated a boy I liked. I never went to prom or homecomings." Her eyes welled and she was closed to tears. "I've never been a teenager Gideon."

"You can be one here." He offered, reaching for her. His fingers brushed her forehead and caged her between the countertops and his body. "You can go to college here, make friends but you can't date any boys. You're mine. I'm sure they have an English course you can apply too. If not I'll make them."

Her eyes flickered across his face in disbelief. This man really couldn't hear himself speak.

"That's not how it should be." She shook her head. "That's not how I want it to be."

"Then, tell me what you want."

Again, she gave him another incredulous look. For months, she told him what she wanted. Gideon just chose to ignore her.

They were running around in circles at this point.

"You know what I want." She said. "You can't accept what I want because you don't like it."

"I can't let you go." He stated, cornering her tighter. "I'll never get you go because you're mine. You were mine the moment," he pressed her hand against his chest. "the moment this started beating."

Gideon leaned down, pressing his forehead against hers. Here was peace for him, in her presences. She was his home and he would do anything to keep his home safe.

"I'm trying to be a better man for you, Rory." He traced her features with his lips and pressed a deep kiss to her mouth. "I'll try to give you everything you want."

Rory's body shuddered and a strangled cry escaped her lips. She shook her head causing her curls to bounce around her.

Her cries were exhausted and pained, filled with sadness and defeated.

She hated that he promised to give her everything but her everything only benefited him. They weren't saying eye to eye.

"Mi teroso stop crying." He murmured, planting a soft kiss to her lips, her cheeks and her neck.

"You can never give me what I want." She sniffled. Wiping her tears, Rory smiled sadly. "And you'll never be a good man."

Gideon stilled at her words. No one can love a monster like you. His father's words pulsed through his mind, ringing in his head like an annoying bell and echoed through his ears like a curse. His hold on her tightened to the point she winced.

Ignoring her discomfort, Gideon held his head high and masked his face with his usual intimidating demeanour.

"I am a good man." He said, pridefully. "I've provided you a life of luxury. I pay my staff more than they deserved and I've taken care of my family."

"Giving people more than they deserved isn't a being a good person." She said. "You're just being a decent boss."

Rory pushed at his chest and gasped in surprise to see him budge.

She swallowed away the shock, "You're far from a good person especially with the business you run.

You're a murderer, a killer." Her voice became fierce with each word. "You killed my father, my stepmother and you killed my little brother!"

Tears pour from her eyes as she thought about Henry. He must've been so scared that day.

"I'm a good person." He denied, flashing her a twisted grin. "My hands may be bloody and I'm lost in the darkness of being part of the mafia but I still have a heart that can love." He cupped her face, and murmured, "That's all that should matter. That I love you more than life itself."

He was insane, she thought as she searched his features. His dark eyes were gleaming with pride and his lips grinning crookedly.

"You're impossible!" Rory screamed in frustration.

"I love you, Rory." He declared, pecking her lips. "And you're never escape me so don't try running away again or I'll break your fucking legs and have you pregnant by the time you heal."

At his warning, her body seized up in terror. Her heart dropped in her stomach and she felt the taste of vomit in her mouth. How could he say something like that and above all, after declaring his love for her. He was sick and twisted. He can't be saved.

Sensing her fear and the horror etched on her face, Gideon released her and stormed out the kitchen.

~*~

Sleep didn't come easily the last two nights not when she could imagine her husband breaking her legs. His warning haunted her even in her dreams. She was unable to feel asleep again, thus she tiptoed down the creaky staircase and into the kitchen.

Pouring herself a glass of water, Rory sit in silence in the dimly lit kitchen. The mansion was lonely and too creepy for her liking. She missed everyone at the Medellín estate - María, Juan, Luci and Cielo.

And, Alvaro. She missed him too. She wondered where he was, did he managed to escape to Italy?

She hoped he was because Gideon, without a doubt, would kill him for what he did.

The front scraped open. Rory remained glued to her seat and listened to the sound of several heavy footsteps. The light turned on and she jumped, spilling her glass of water over her shirt.

Gideon stood in the doorway dressed in black combat clothing with bloodied hands. The dark red colour stuck onto his face and trickled down his neck. Who's blood was it?

Sebastian appeared behind him in similar clothing and he pinned her down with an accusing glare.

Suddenly, a feeling déjà vu encased her.

"I have work to do." Gideon glowered, leaving her with his right hand man.

He was covered in blood too though not as much as her husband.

Rory eyes trained on the blood red marks coating his skin. The copper smell filled her nostril and she grimaced in disgust.

"I thought you were going to talk to him." Sebastian huffed. He leaned against the door frame with blood shot eyes and thick dark circles framing them.

Gideon, since Rory's recent escape attempt, piled files of work on him. Security checks on the estate and background check on every personnel coming and going. There was a traitor among them and he was tasked to find them. Sleepless and restless nights were upon him.

Eyes were on everyone including his sisters; Luci and Gabriela - the latter was currently in Morocco in talks with investors. His estranged mother was also put on the radar though, she was harder to find because she doesn't often stay in one place for too long.

"Well?"

Rory looked down at her glass of water, she stammered, "We got into another fight."

"Fuck!" Sebastian groaned, no wonder Gideon changed his mind regarding the attack on the south the last minute. "He's always so fucking impulsive."

"What happened?" Rory asked, her gaze glued onto the blood staining his arms. "Who's blood is it?"

"Some Herrera soldiers." He spat in annoyance.

Not at Rory but the name Herrera. It was the name of a traitor and each syllable uttered felt like hot lava running down his throat.

"The last time you and Gideon came back like thi-"

"Yeah," he cut her off abruptly. That time they raider one of the Herrera's drug lab and it ended up in violent fight.

Fuck, he could use a cigarette right now. Thus, Sebastian excused himself to find a nice corner to smoke in. The next couple of days were going to be rough since more fuel was pour on Gideon's wrath. He was a hard bastard to get along with. If only they haven't been friends for over a decade, Sebastian was sure he'd be out the door by now.

Another sleepless night, alone in an unfamiliar bed. The canopy bed, dark wood and old, was hard. The mattress was old not like the soft foam ones back in Medellín. Another sign that the mansion had been abandoned for years.

Rory turned in the bed. Gideon's side had been abandoned for several days too.

She rolled onto his side and willed her body to switched off to the lingering scent of him. It wasn't strong but that vanilla smell of was definitely him. As the faded fragrance swept into her nostrils, her body grew hot and wetness pooled between her legs.

Slowly, her hands crept down her abdomen and she palmed her pussy under her shorts. Her fingers circled her clit slowly and she cried in irritation moments later as the pleasure never came.

Her body wasn't satisfied with her fingers. It wanted him. He was angry at her and she was too much of a coward to beg him to touch her. Annoyed, Rory rolled back to the side of her bed and tried to sleep.

At some point during the night, her temperature heightened, skyrocketing to the point her breathing between rough and shallow.

Hot and sloppy kisses were peppered on her neck. Fingers buried underneath her shorts and her wetness cling onto her panties. Rory was in dazed, unable to differentiate whether this was real or a dream.

"I've missed you." Gideon's husky voice vibrated against her throat. "Will you let me touch you?"

She nodded before she could think. To her, it was just a dream because Gideon would never ask her.

"Will you let me fuck you too?"

She groggily nodded again. It won't hurt if it was just a fragment of her imagination.

He pulled her clothes off her body, pressing against her back. His erection, long and thick, was waiting desperately to enter her. It had been so long and it was ready, dripping with pre-cum.

Rory was on her side, head rested atop of Gideon's arm. He used it to turn her head and captured her into a long and delicious kiss.

Lifting one of her legs, Gideon nudged her entrance with his tip. She was dripping, so wet and aroused for him. He teased her slowly, earning himself an eager moan. That sound was a sweet melody. All resolved not to touch her flew out the window and he entered her narrow canal with a hard thrust.
