Hozier - Take Me To Church

Rory sat in silence. Gideon marched pass her and she craned her head to find him stalking murderously to the men who held her hostage. She gulped, realising he was going to kill them liked he promised.

Her gaze then fell onto the trail of blood he had left behind. He was still bleeding out and refused to receive any medical attention. Rory was his first priority - he ensured she was the first to receive the care she needed.

A gun shot rang out, causing her to scream.

Gideon had shot one of the remaining men and he fell backwards, lifeless.

"Which one of you was the one who beat my wife?" He roared, boiling over with anger.

"It was him!" One of the accused, pointing to one of his comrade.

"He took the pictures!"

Gideon grabbed the soldier who had hit her, pulling him up by the neck. Raising his fist, he flung it across his face and a crack resonated in the warehouse. His jaw dislocated and cheek shattering into pieces.

Rory covered her ears, drowning out the pained cries of the soldier.

He continued hitting the man until he no longer made a single noise. Until his eyes swelled, ears and nose gushing blood, his mouth busted with a couple teeth missing. Gideon let his body fall to the concrete, fished out his gun and putting several bullets into his stomach.

"He's killing them." She cried, tears pouring down her cheek at the inhumane treatment of the men.

They had treated her badly but, they didn't deserve death. They should've called the police and get these men arrested.

"This is our world." Tobias sighed. "Men like them get what they deserve for coming after us."

She didn't want to believe his words but it was laid out right in front of her.

Each remaining men drop one by one dying a painful death. They were beaten, at the hands of her husband, to the point their faces were unrecognisable and shot to death.

The moment the last one breathed for the last time, Gideon sauntered over. Blood on his knuckles and scattered on his face. He was bathed in blood, his own and theirs. An image that will haunt her for the rest of her life.

He knelt before her, resting his face against her neck, blood dripping from his wounds.

He hurled over, falling flat against the ground.

"What is his condition, Doctor?" Sebastian questioned.

They were at the hospital.

The moment Gideon collapsed, the group drove him straight to the nearest emergency room. While they stitched him back up and checked his vitals, a nurse had came to Rory's aid and dressed her wounds. Now, they were waiting to hear about her husband.

"He's stable." The doctor reassured. "His wounds caused him to bleed out hence he could no longer function."

The doctor led the way to his room, Rory following closely behind them - Sebastian and Tobias, who claimed he needed to stay since it was partially his mess.

As expected, he had a private room with its sitting area and a shower room. Gideon laid on the bed, propped up by a pillow while the nurses checked on his vitals. He eyed the people entering his room but mostly focused on his wife.

"Rory." He called over. He only wanted to be close to her.

She remained by the door too afraid to move any closer especially after seeing what he was capable of.

"Come here." He called again, "Don't make me leave this bed to come and get you."

Swallowing, she obeyed, walking hesitantly to him. The moment Rory was in arms reached, he wound his arms around her waist pulling her close to the bed as possible. Her proximity settled any aches and pains that ran through his body. She was his medicine.

Instead of planting a kiss to her lips, he gently placed one on her collarbone, causing her to take slow and rugged breaths.

The doctor informed them that he needed to stay the night much to his dismay.

"What do you intend to do with Emir Yilmaz?" Sebastian queried, after the doctor and nurses take their leave.

"FedEx their heads to him." He ordered, "make sure he gets the message that he is next if he dare to pull another stunt like this."

"Sí."

Sebastian left the room, making a few phone calls. It was just Rory and Tobias now.

"Thanks for you help." Gideon nodded, "I am in your debt."

"And I ensure to collect it." Tobias chuckled, lowly. "Since you're not dead. I will take my leave."

Rory watched Tobias' retreating back. Her anxiety flared the moment they were alone. She didn't want to be touched by him, a man who had beat several men to death. She glanced at him, he had his eyes closed, head rested against a pillow while he soothed her waist with his thumb.

There was no remorse in his face, only contentment.

She was thankful, however, for him coming to rescue her.

"Save your thanks." He murmured, as if sensing her thoughts. "You are my wife. It is my duty to ensure your safety."

She remained silent once again, standing there while he continued to draw circles on her waist.

All she wanted now was a nice shower - to freshen up and wipe herself of her nasty smell. It wasn't until she glanced outside to the see the sun setting once again thay she realised, she had been in the same outfit in the last 32 hours.

Moreover, she wanted to stay as far away from him as possible. What if she was next? What if he killed her next?

"I want to go back to the villa." She whispered.

"One of the men will take you then." Gideon opened his eyes and longingly looked at her lips. How long will it take for it all to heal?

"Go." He ordered before he could steal kisses from her.

Rory bolted out the room, asking one of the security stationed outside to take her back to the villa.

She slide into the backseat and rested her head against the cold window. Finally, she felt at ease, her body relaxing for the first time. No Gideon within reach nor anyone wanted to hurt her because they were dead. He killed them like he promised.

A hour or so later, the driver pulled into the villa. She walked inside, exhausted as she switched on all the lights. It was comforting to have the villa illuminated, chasing away all the monsters hiding in the shadows. If only they were actually in the shadows.

She passed Gideon's office and paused at the ajar door. Slowly, Rory pushed the door opened and switched the lights on.

It was never opened even back at the estate, his office was always locked when it wasn't in use. She glanced around looking at the mess. Someone must have came in searching for something and forgot the lock it behind them. Rory was aware that the only other person, besides Gideon, who had access was Sebastian.

He must have came here in a rush.

She peeked at the drawers and briefcases then her eyes fell on passports laying to the side. Her trembled as she picked them up. One was her judging by its dark blue colour. It looked brand new, no doubt recently issued and it was when she saw her name - RORY TORRES, not Rory Whitmore.

All of a sudden her mind began racing, screaming at her to take it and ran.

Gideon was at the hospital, strapped to some machines a hour from the villa. She could make it to the airport and out of the country before the doctor signed his discharge paper.

She took a shaky, contemplating her options.

The doctor intended for him to stay for 48 hours but even mere minutes away from her was agony. There was no way he was going to stay that long from her. Rory was his wife - his world damn universe. The only reason his heart beat was for her and she was the only who calmed and fulfilled his urges.

She didn't visit him the first 24 hours he was there which pissed off but, she was hurt too so he let it slide. Until, Sebastian walked in with paled face.

"She's gone." He said. "Booked herself a flight out the country."

Those words turned his mind blank and stopped the beating of his heart. He turned cold, his face twisting in a furious scowl.

He had saved her, appeared to her like a knight in shinning armour. If it was any other woman he'd just let them rot to death. He won't have saved them, risked his own life for them.

No, he only did it for her and she backstabbed him by running away.

"How?" He asked calmly.

"It was my mistake." Sebastian admitted. "I must have not locked the office door when I went to grab my equipment, lo siento." He explained further, "Her passport is gone and she took some money from your bag, just enough to get herself a ticket and some food, perhaps."

"Do you know where she is headed?"

"A flight back to the states." He answered, "thankfully, we are able to still track her. She has yet to remove her wedding band."

Gideon closed his eyes in an attempt to calm his rage but he was only angrier, boiling over at her betrayal. In sickness and in health - she abandon their wedding vows while be remained true to his.

She was evil, she was heartless.

She was the true monster, not him. He seen the hate in her eyes, the disgusted look she only bore for him. He lived with it in hopes that, one day, she'd look at him differently like the way he wanted.

He was going to hurt her for hurting him.
