EXO - Monster
A soft mattress laid underneath her. It felt like she was sleeping atop of a marshmallow thus, she released a content sigh. It was the best sleep she had in a while. Rolling to her side, her head leaves the pillow, palms sliding across a warm empty space beside her.
Silk, who sleeps on silk?
Her head finds the pillow again and she pressed her face into, filling her nose with a familiar spiced vanilla and lemon scent. In a daze, Rory rubbed sleep from her eyes and stared up a white ceiling. It was low but not low enough for a too tall person.
She lost her breathe and panic settles in as she observed her surrounding. Sound of turbulences, plane windows and the familiar cold chill of being high in the sky.
Rory scrambled to her feet and jumped towards the oval shaped window and threw the covers opened. Clear skies and white clouds stared back at her.
"You're a awake."
Her head snapped to meet the rough and husky voice of Gideon Torres - her husband to be. He was leaning against the door frame in a tailor Hugo Boss suit oozing confidence and masculinity. Rory, unable to find her words, just stared at him, mouth hanging opening.
He shook his head sensing her shock and with two strides attempted to reach for her. But, she jumped away, moving towards the bed until her back hits the headboard. She clutched the white silk blankets to her chest and her bottom lip begins to tremble.
"My love," he sighed, settling on the edge of the bed. "It's alright."
She closed her eyes the moment the back of his fingers grazed her temple down to her cheek. It was him, she realised, recognising the familiar scent. He had attacked her and kidnapped her.
"Where are you taking me?" She asked, hating herself for letting her voice tremble.
"Home," he smiled pushing her hair behind one ear.
He cupped her cheek before dropping slowly down to her neck, feeling every inch of her. She swallowed, blinked then swatted his hand away from her. A glare, anger and hatred, swirled in her iris. He was an immoral man for kidnapping her and taking her from her father. She hated both of them for planning this behind her back.
"Don't be like that." He warned, narrowing his eyes. "I don't like the fight in your eyes so put it before I do."
He stood from the bed, buttoning up the front of his jacket while still narrowing his hooded dark eyes at her. A chill ran down her spine forcing her to look away. He was too intimidating, so big and scary like the monsters she used to believe lived under her bed.

Monsters are meant to be confronted, her mother's words ringing her ear from the night she had ran into her room as a child, frantically thinking there was a monster in her room. Holding her hand tightly, her mother had lead her back to her room and they checked very crook and cranny to find these monsters.
There were none, it was just a fragment of her imagination. Still, a lesson needed to be taught about monsters. Because they exist in plain sight, among the living, and not under some little girl's bed.
Gideon and her father, they were both monsters for planning this. Kidnapping and human trafficking were crimes punishable by law. It made her wonder what else they have done. What kind of businesses were they doing?
"You're cruel and horrible." She told truthfully, making him stop in his track.
Gideon turned to face her. Hooded dark eyes turned into a chilling glare, so much fury and malice. She should be scared just from that pointed look but she wasn't and kept going, calling him things that had some truth to it. He watched her foul mouth with hands on his hips.
"Kidnapping and human trafficking is wrong!" She bellowed, hands balling into a fist.
She was on her knees in a pair of cream cotton bed shorts and a tank top, one strap falling down one shoulder. She looked stunning, he thought, so simple and lovely.
But he didn't let her outside appearance blind him from her blunt attitude towards him. She slammed her fist against the mattress like a child throwing a tantrum, green eyes staring daggers into his forehead. For a moment, he thought about letting it slide since she looked too cute for him to hurt but, her next words erupted a fire in him.
"You and my father can go and fuck yourself!" She screamed, "I'll never marry a criminal like you, you piece of-"
He gripped her chin roughly, stopping her from finishing her sentence. She let out a painfully cry, her hands tugging at his wrist, silently begging him to release her. Fear was evident in her eyes. She was so brave before screaming profanities at him but now she was still, frozen with terror.
Gideon pushed her trembling body down onto the bed. He used his body to hold her into the bed and she gasped at the weight of him. He was crushing her ribcage and her lungs, making it impossible to breathe.
"I don't want to hear such words leaving your pretty little mouth again." He warned, his lips brushing against her ear. "The next time you speak those words, I'll fuck it right out of you whenever and wherever."
She gulped and quickly closed her eyes. There was madness dancing in his eyes telling her his words weren't buffs. They were threatens he will carry out.

"Now," he whispered, leaning his forehead against her. His eyes fluttering close. "We will be landing in Bogotá soon." He opened them again and frown at the tears that had escaped her eyes. He kissed them away gently and slide his free hand underneath her head all the while dotting feathery kisses along her jaw. "Don't cry, my love. Bogotá is just a rest stop. We will only be there for the wedding and then I'll take you home." He said and she cried. "Once we get home, you can do whatever you want like go back to school, have ballet classes and there's horses. You love horses don't you?"
Yeah she loved horses and wanted horse riding lessons as a kid but they couldn't afford it. So she gave up on that dream. But how did he know? How did he know she did ballet too? Had he been stalking her?
She shook her head, tugging at his hand once again to release herself. He was freaking her out. He seemed to know a lot more about her than she did about him. Gideon sighed and let go, watching her curl to the side underneath him as she sobbed. Laying his head against hers, he breathes in her sweet scent. He didn't want her to cry yet he couldn't make her stop by giving her want she wanted.
Gideon had to have her. He had to marry her for her to be truly his.
"Don't cry, baby." He cooed, "Everything will be alright. We will be happy. I'll make you so happy. I'll give you anything you want to make you happy."
"No!" She sobbed, shaking her head. "I won't be happy. I can't be happy with a man who's forcing me to marry him." She turned to look at him with tear stained face. "I won't be happy with a criminal like you."
His jaw tighten and before he knew it, he lifted her up from the bed by the neck. She was gagging, choking for air. Gideon brought her face to his, their lips just mere inches apart - they brushed against each other and the fire in him ignites. He was set ablaze by a effortless touch. The fire warmed his core and for the first time, he was contented.
He was going to let these feelings go so easily.
"Marry me." It wasn't a question, it was a statement - a declaration she had to obey.
She shook her head. Her green eyes burning with defiance. He applauded her efforts since not a lot of people dare to deny him what he wanted. Just like her father, who had given her up so easily.
"Marry me." He said again. "Or else they die."
That scared her. Her eyes widened as if it was going to pop out of its socket.
"Your father, brother, stepmother," He sneered with a smirk. He wanted to see if just the three of them was enough to scare her and it did. She shook her head, pleading for him to leave them alone.
Gideon knew she didn't like her father's family or wasn't very fond of them. She hated her brother, he had heard them arguing once outside before just below her father's office window. He had called her a skank and a freeloader while she threatened to push him into the pool because he didn't know how to swim.
He found it funny, her little buffs she would've never carried it. Her stepmother was never really around her much, she was too engrossed into her high society circle to even care for the two kids. There was no bond there.
Her father, Gideon didn't know if she cared for him or not and vice versa. But, his threats had confirmed it all. There was something there to drive fear into her beside her mother of course - perhaps his biggest weapon against her.
"Please don't hurt anyone." She begged. Rory may have not liked them much but they were still her family. Her father and Henry, her only brother. "Just leave them alone and I'll do as you say."
He smiled, "Good girl." Pressing against against the corner of her lips. He pulled anyway for a second, his eyes lingering on her pretty lips - full and settled in a cute pout. "Fuck." He breathed before crashing his lips against hers.
He couldn't wait.
Gideon, hand his clinging to her neck, pressed his mouth roughly against hers. His teeth nibbled on her bottom lip, tugging at it to force her mouth to open. The moment her lips parted, his tongue darted inside and tangled with hers, fighting for dominance which he clearly won.
Rory stared wide eyed at the ceiling. Her body was still, paralysed by the fact that he had kissed her. She wasn't expecting him to. She had kissed other boys before, boys her age not a grown man. It was different, not curious and innocent but possessive and carnal.
Realising she was not kissing him back, he growled and tugged her hair, pulling it back to expose her neck. Adrenaline rushed in her veins and she fought back, hitting his chest until he let her go. Gideon wiped his hand across his lips and smiled, satisfied.
"Get changed," he demanded, getting up from the bed. "We will be landing in Bogotá soon."
He walked out at the cabin, leaving her neck all to way up to her lips aching and bruised.

Shadow in the North
What if a work of fiction wasn't fiction at all? What if we only thought it was fiction because it was written down, and we were separated from it by the page? She likes the idea of waking up in the middle of her favourite book with the handsome, brooding Mr Thornton glaring at people in his mill yard, but she doesn't worry about the foul air of dirty, smoky Milton, because it's not real, and it was written over 160 years ago.But then she takes a trip to Oxford, and gets waylaid along the way, finding herself greeted at a smoky train station, by a man called Mr Hale, who claims to be her godfather. When Isabel meets Margaret and first sees Mr Thornton, she's determined to help the course of love run a little more smoothly for the two stubborn lovers. But Gaskell hadn't accounted for a second young lady in the Crampton house, and whilst Isabel tries to adapt to a life where women have no independence or equality, Milton must adapt to her. The question is, will Mr Thornton adapt to her, or Margaret, first?
