Chapter 53- One Month Without Her
Drake's POV
I carried an unconscious Zara in my arms towards the abandoned house. The dark red and white house looked broken down but, for the occasion, it will have to do. The windows weren't in the best condition but curtains (or what I assumed were curtains) were placed there to prevent anyone on the outside to look in. From the angle where I was, I could see half of an old car, sitting there rusting because of now proper treatment. He couldn't have picked a better place? The steps creaked as I stepped on them. All the lights were off inside so it wasn't so obvious that we were here.
"Drake?"
My jaw tightened when I heard his voice. He was the only reason I was doing this, "Yeah, it's me. I brought Zara." I heard some shuffling behind me as I set her down gently on the sofa.
"Mission accomplished, well done bro," he said with a grin on his face. I looked anywhere but at him. He sickened me. I had no choice but to follow him, "all I need to do now is to phone Carlos and Kyle." He walked out of the room mumbling happily to himself. When he came back out of his little "office" he looked over at me.
"We should probably throw her down in the basement until they get here," he stated.
"What?" I asked surprised, "no, you can't throw her down there."
"Oh, yes I can. What's the matter with you? You never cared before. What changed?"
"She's not the person who you said she was. You're the bastard here," I said and his eyes flashed for a second.
"Don't mess with me, Drake. You don't want to insult me,"
"Why not, huh? I have no idea why you want her anyway,"
"Because she is mine! I will not allow that...that...cowardly Alpha to have her!" he growled.
"She's not yours, she's Hayden's," I stated and he growled louder and pushed me harshly against the wall.
"She is mine! She was mine from the beginning and she's mine now!"

Zara's POV
Why do I always have to get up in pain? Can't I just wake up one day and be free from all the stresses of life? I groaned while I tried to sit up properly. My eyes quickly adjusted to the surrounding I was in. The room was dark, but I could see a small broken window at the corner just under the staircase. Looking through the bars of my "cell" I saw nothing more than darkness itself. I think I was in a basement but honestly I have no idea why I'm in a cage.
There was a sound. The creaking of the staircase and soon I saw boots coming down. When he descended from the stairs all I could do was stair blankly at him.
"Do you want some water?" he asked. I stared at him in shock.
"You're asking, after you kidnapped me and knocked me out...not leaving out the fact that I'm now trapped in a cage, if I want something to drink?" I questioned Drake. He sighed and looked away from me running his hand through his hair.
"I didn't...I didn't mean to kidnap you. I had no other choice,"
"You had no other choice?!" I shouted at him, "I can't believe you right now."
"Zara, you know me--"
"No apparently, I don't," I said as I crossed my arms around my chest.
"Zara, please. Just let me explain,"
"By all means do! Fine some crappy excuse as to why you kidnapped me and brought me here LOCKING ME UP IN A CAGE!!!"
"Zara, I shouldn't have---"
"Well look who's finally awake," a voice said that brought chills to my spine said. That voice has haunted me for the past three years.
Zaviah.

Hayden's POV
I was in pain. I hated what I did, hell I can't believe I did it in the first place. My friends hated me, My pack hated me. Even I hated myself right now. I would get out of bed but there's no point. I wanted to see her face, to hear her laugh, to touch her, to kiss her...but I couldn't do that and it was a painful thought.

The pack still treated her like Luna, purposely avoiding Miley. It was like the roles switched with the respect they give to her. I sighed when I heard the room door open.
"Hey baby," Miley's irritating voice came to my ears as she walked in. She isn't even suppose to be in this room.
"How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me that?" I rhetorically asked her. She looked at me as if in shock.
"Aren't mates supposed to call each other romantically like that?"
"One problem b!tch, you aren't my mate so leave me the f*ck alone," I growled at her, "you're the reason why I'm in this stupid mess in the f*cking first place."
"You got the better girl, Hayden. She couldn't even lead the pack so what's the big deal," she said and that statement alone got me shooting out of the bed, my palm against her throat.
"Try to insult her again, and I won't hesitate to rip you apart," I snarled at her then stormed out of the room.
I walked down the stairs trying to calm down when I heard James and Conner talking.
"I haven't seen her since the nights after she woke up," Conner said.
"Probably she went to Lucas' pack house. I mean, I'm sure she wouldn't have wanted to stay here with Miley being here," James responded.
"I think we still should call, you know, just to check if she's there,"
"If who is there?" I came in and asked. They both looked up probably shocked to see me out of the room.
"Uh...what?"
"Who were you guys talking about just now?"
"Umm...Zara, we can't seem to find her...for weeks now she hasn't been in,"
"What?!" I exclaimed, "and I wasn't informed? Where is she?"
"We were just going to call Lucas' pack and ask if she's staying there," Conner said then walked out looking for a phone.
"I'll go help him look," James said and without another word, he left the room. I sighed and closed my eyes. I grabbed my phone out my pocket and called Bryon.
"Yes Mr. Pierce," he answered, his voice as cold as ice.
"Has Zara been staying there with you guys?" I asked him ignoring his tone of voice.
"No she hasn't," he stated, "why would you even care? You have Miley anyways. Zara and her feelings wouldn't matter to you right" I made no comment as I hung up on him. I didn't want that to be rubbed in my face right now.
Where the hell could she be? I tried to think of all the people she might have went to...
A) Bryon and Natalya, but she isn't there.
B) My brother. He was kind of out of the question since he's all the way in England. She wouldn't have gone that far.
C) Lucas, which I doubt. I don't know I just have this feeling that she isn't over there. That would be too easy.
or
D) That same guy that she met the first night we fought. What was his name...Derek...Dane...Drake...DRAKE!
'Conner, did you get a hold of Lucas?' I mentally asked him through our pack link..
'No, I didn't,' Conner stated, 'I'm still trying Alpha.'
Would she really run away with him? Jealousy shot through my veins at the thought of it. She wouldn't do that to me...she couldn't.
Of course she can, you idiot! You turned away from her and rejected her, my wolf shouted angrily at me.
I didn't reject her, I said to him.
Actions speak louder than words. When you decided to mate with another woman, she could have seen that as a sign of rejection. Yes, we still have some sort of connection to her but the 'mating' with Miley is messing up the patterns, my wolf said.
At least we have a connection to her, I lamely said making him growl angrily in my head.
You're not getting the point! There shouldn't have been a problem in the mating in the first place. We promised we would wait for her and look at what you did!
I won't ever betray her like that again. All I want is one more chance.
Just one.
