Chapter 52- Taken Away
Zara's POV
Everywhere in my body was in pain. I opened my eyes trying to bear it, but it wouldn't go away. There was white all over the room...with a touch of grey. The pain subsided for about ten seconds, and then the only pain I felt was in my chest. My heart felt like it was literally being ripped from my chest...again. I groaned softly, lifting my hand and placing it there.
"Hey guys, she's awake," a faint voice said. I lifted my head to see who it was but a moan of pain escaped my lips.
"Hey, take it easy there sis," Lucas said. My eyes focussed on him and I saw a smile tugging at his lips, "thank God you're awake."
"Can you help me sit up?" I asked him. He chuckled.
"Wow, the fearless Zara Ferrari is asking for help willingly?"
I rolled my eyes at him, "Whatever just help me up." He smiled at me and came to my side. The door opened behind him and I looked up and saw Conner and James standing there.
"Luna!" James shouted with a grin on his face. I shook my head at him with a smile on my face.
"Miss me?"
"Damn right, you've been out for three days straight,"
Three days?
"Oh gosh, really? Must have been really quiet without me then," I stated.
"Well, other than the fight two days ago,"
"What fight?" my eyes shot up to look at Conner.
"Yeah, Lucas and lover boy decided to have a fight. Luckily Bryon and Natalya could get Hayden to stop before he hurt Lucas,"
Lucas scoffed, "he wouldn't have hurt me. I just didn't want to seem violent in front of Maddison." The guys snickered.
"Yeah, okay," James said while laughing. Once again, the door opened but this time it was the pack doctor that stepped in.
"Hey Zara," Karen said.
"I thought you would have moved in the Gavin," I said confused to her.

"Nah, not yet. Soon though, when everything here is settled," she said then came up to me and did and did a few checks.
"All seems fine right now. You just have to stay in bed for the day. Hopefully, your wolf will heal the injury on your head,"
"Injury on my head?" my arm immediately shot up to the left side of my head.
"Yeah, nothing to worry about,"
"My chest still pains though," I told her. I vaguely saw her glance at Lucas and James then back at me.
"Sis, why don't you get some rest," Lucas suggested. I raised my eyebrow at him suspiciously.
"Lucas..."
"Why don't we all let her rest, huh?" Karen said as well leading everyone to the door.
"Stop!" I shouted at them. They stopped and turned around but avoided my gaze, "what aren't you all telling me?"
"Zara, we are telling you everything," Karen said but her tone of voice was just off.
"Guys...” I said warningly.
"Uhh...why don't you tell her Conner," James suggested taking a step back. Conner glared at him then smiled weakly at me.
"I think it would be best if your brother told you," Conner then suggested.
"Seriously?" Lucas asked Conner then shook his head and mumbled, "Bunch of big babies."
"What are you not telling me?"
"You said you are still having chest pains right?" Lucas asked and I nodded, "well, the reason for that is...Hayden...he...he mated...with Miley."
................................................................................................
Two days later...
I couldn't sleep. This is how it has been ever since I woke up. I always tossed and turned at night and most morning I would have to put on make up to make it less obvious that I've been up all night. I groaned as I twisted my body again, and then looked at the clock. Two twenty-six?! Come on.
I sighed deeply then placed my feet on the ground. Walking down the stairs, I saw a light in the kitchen. Who the hell is up this late? I walked in the kitchen, and now I was wishing I didn't. Miley was sitting there with a white mug wrapped in her palm.

"Oh, if it isn't Ms. Used-To-Be," she greeted nastily with a smirk. My face remained blank as she continued to taunt me, "I always told you I would win him over. You were just a replacement to me, he never really cared. Then again, who would care about you when you dress like that?" then she laughed as if it were the most hilarious joke in the world.
"I'm really not going to respond to you. Want to know why?" I asked rhetorically, "Because you're not worth it."
"You're one to talk. My mate didn't mate someone else," she said and in one movement, I grabbed her throat and had her pinned against the wall. She smirked at my reaction but her smirk fell when my fingers tightened against her neck.
"Be careful what you say, because the next word against me right now and I'm going to slit your throat with my bare hands," I snarled at her then allowed her to slip from my hold. When she dropped to the ground, her hand immediately went to her bruised neck. I stepped back as I noticed the few people watching me. I walked out of the pack house with tears in my eyes.
I have no idea why I was crying. I shouldn't be crying over something so stupid- someone so stupid. I rushed to the forest then ripped my clothes off me, shifting to my wolf. I had no idea where I was going but I knew I wanted to get out of here.
I shuffled to put on my clothes then walked briskly to Starbucks. Ironically, this is where I came the last time Hayden and I had problems. It seems like the only place I can clear my head. Hayden. My heart twists every time I hear his name. It burns because of what he did.
The bell sounded as I entered and, as before, there were only a few people sitting and having coffee. I walked towards an empty table and rested my head on the table. I was so tired. So tired, but my wolf wouldn't allow sleep. She was too sad and disturbed for sleep. The chair in front of me screeched as my new accompanist joined me.
"What has he done this time?" a familiar voice asked that had my lips tugging upwards. My head shot up to look at him and got up to hug him.
"Wow, you look hideous," he stated as he hugged me back from where he was sitting. I smacked his head while I laughed.
"Thanks for making a girl feel better Drake," I sarcastically said.
"My pleasure, Ferrari," he said with a wink, "so what has Hayden done now?"
I flinched at his name, "Can we not talk about...him?"
"Zara---"
"Just please, please," my voice broke at the end and I found myself looking away from his gaze. This is what he does to me. A silence broke out between us.
"Want to come take a walk with me?"
I smiled slightly, "I'd love that."
Moments later, we were walking side my side towards the forest. We were walking in silence, both of us just thinking. I didn't even know where we were going until Drake pulled me to a stop. I looked up at him prepared for him to say something but he just stared at me.
"Drake?"
He shook his head at me, "Zara...I’m so sorry." I stared at him in confusion.
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm so sorry, but I have to...” he trailed off. Then in one movement, my back was pulled towards his chest and a cloth was placed over my nose and mouth. I tried to struggle out of his hold but it was too late. The wolf bane was already getting into my system. I could feel my eyelids closing as I fell out of consciousness.

Summoner's Journey
[Before you read - the story is officially dead. The reasons behind it are posted in the last chapter.] In a magic world on the verge of an industrial revolution, Ari Ragnarsson must uncover the truth behind his parents' disappearance. They were part of an organization known as the Order, which protects mankind from various threats - both human and supernatural. Now, after Ari's brands finally manifest, he leaves the safety of his village and travels to the continent. Strength is all that matters in this world and he must learn how to control his powers. There, he meets a man from another world, who's being hunted for merely existing. Their fates become intertwined, but not in a way either of them would appreciate. Author's note (contains minor non-story related spoilers about the MC and setting) This is a progression fantasy with LITRPG elements sprinkled on top. The main character is not a spellsword, but a summoner/support mage hybrid. Since he wasn't ambushed by a random god, there's no cheat item/spell and he has to rely on his skills and wits to survive in a world full of monsters. The story tries to show the moment when the old starts to be replaced by the new, with a healthy dose of magic and a little steampunk in the background. Also, it revolves around a party dynamic akin to RPG sessions. No health/mana bars. Numbers are secondary and the LITRPG elements focus more on classes/spells/runes and their evolutions. Tables are sparse at the beginning, but from chapter 7 onwards they appear more often. Still, I won't be copy-pasting the whole character sheet dozens of times per chapter.

Tellus Stirs (Previously Earth AA)
The year is 2030. Earth is dying. War, pandemics, overwhelming pollution, species going extinct, climate change, etc. The so-called human race has brought more harm to their planet due to greed; their increased energy needs were on a path of decadence even with their increased technological advancements. Tactical Nukes were already used in conflicted zones in the fight for resources. The conclusion was a deep and frightening hum unleashed deep within the earth, heard by every living creature, and with it, civilization has ended. Those who survived wished they were slain along with their loved ones as the dead didn't have to endure what came after. Others took the opportunity to gain unimaginable power and prestige as a new age began. Chaos reigned as per the prophecies foretold in the past. Those who did not believe knew the signs were actual; these prophecies were no longer popular folk tales. Such titles, the Breaking, the Rapture, the Malhama, and many others, came at a high cost. After all, every city or densely populated area had been hit with natural disasters that encompassed tsunamis, Earthquakes, Firestorms, Typhoons, and hurricanes. Power, food, infrastructure. All of it was gone and what came after was worse as humans were no longer top of the food chain. Yet the imminent destruction of the 21st century re-opened a veil that had kept the world safe from hidden dangers, or maybe it was the other way around. Time will tell. In our story, the Protagonist rises from the ashes of the apocalypse. A desert child soldier nurtured by tragedy and death looking for an escape to fill the void in his heart. By chance, in his hand, he held a blade with immense possibilities.
