Chapter 46- Introduction Party

Zara's POV

We were about half an hour away from the house and I was looking out the window sadly. I would really miss all the familiar faced that I met. The memories made. The time that passed so quickly.

"I think Zara is having one of those times," James joked. I rolled my eyes and ignored him but I felt Hayden's gaze on me.

"You ok?" he asked me once again. I smiled at him and nodded.

"Yes, I'm fine, I promise," I told him. We pulled up to the field and saw Bryon and Gavin's car pull up after us. Gavin had followed us as well, as per Karen's orders. I think Hayden was apart of that decision as well, because he wanted his sister here with him, while she was this far in her pregnancy. She was two months but because of her wolf gene, she looked like four months. Normally, it takes four months for a woman to have a child in our cycle. I have no idea why Hayden would want his pregnant sister there anyway, not that she wasn't fun or anything but I'll bet she is going to miserable as hell for the rest of the two months.

Keith came over to us from the security area, still in crutches and I looked away guiltily knowing that I was the one who did that to him.

"Alpha," he greeted Hayden then looked at me respectfully, "Luna." That surprised me and I looked at him shocked as ever, not understanding why he was being so...respectful.

"Have there been any problems?" Hayden asked him. His tone was serious and I have to admit, it did sound really sexy.

"Not in particular but we have some things to discuss," Keith stated. Hayden nodded and told him that they would talk in the office when they get to the pack house.

"Uhh...Hayden, what are you gonna do about her?" Bryon asked as he looked over at Kandice. I turned to them confused.

"What's wrong with her?"

"She's wanted in more than one country, that's what Michael told us when we first found her. She was to be brought back to some Alpha named Brent of the Westwinds Pack."

"Wait, Westwinds?" Karen asked, "That pack is close to Alexander's...all the way in England."

"What? No that---"

"Believe me, I know Brent and I also know that when Alexander first went there, they instantly became best friends. Give Alex a call and find out," Karen said.

When we got to the pack house and settled in, Hayden walked straight to his office to make a call to Alexander. He found out that Karen was right, Brent was in England. When he got in contact with Brent, he was told that Brent didn't have a clue who Kandice was or Michael. So Michael was lying to us then. His next move was to question Kandice and find out why the hell ‘Michael’ was chasing her.

Hayden's POV

I asked Keith to look out for anything strange around the area while I went to my office to question Kandice, both Zara and Kandice's mate- Sean- accompanied me in the room.

"Alright Kandice, we finally know that you aren't wanted as Michael told us, so I want you to explain a few things to us," I started and watched her as she nodded, her gaze on the ground. I gestured for them to sit down and I made Zara sit in my chair and rolled my eyes when she put her feet up on my desk.

"What do you want to know first, Alpha?" Kandice asked looking at me.

"Why were you running in the first place?" I asked her.

"There was a problem in my...former pack. It wasn't much of a pack but ever since Alpha Carlos took over, things were going downhill---"

"Wait, Alpha Carlos?"

"Yes, that's the leader of the pack I was in," she clarified. Oh great! More complications, I thought as I tried to contact James in my mind.

Yeah Alpha? He asked me once I got a hold of him.

James, what's the name of that Alpha that had Lilly? I asked him.

Alpha Carlos, why do you ask? He asked back curiously. I sighed internally.

You and Lilly better get in my office right now, Kandice knows about Carlos.

"What's wrong?" Sean asked.

"There seems to be a similarity---" I was about to explain but the door burst open. James and Lilly entered the room.

"Yes, Alpha?" Lilly asked me.

"There seems to be a connection in both of your past stories. Alpha Carlos," I said to her. Her eyes widened then she looked down at Kandice.

"You were escaping?" Lilly asked her and Kandice gave her a nod.

"Should I continue?" Kandice asked looking towards me. I nodded and sat on the edge of the desk, looking at her intently, "right, well ever since he took over the pack, things went downhill. All our rules and regulations were changed to suit his favour and we had no option but to follow him. He used the males out on the field and ordered them to stay out there and keep their guard for anything. They were like policemen...security guards; while the women were left at home under his control and the children were placed in the separate pack home. There were too pack houses, one for adults and the Alpha and the other was like a prison for the children. Alpha Carlos would take his own time, not taking care of the pack, but using his Alpha power and authority to rape the women--"

"This story is only making me hate this bastard even more," James growled.

"Yeah, well you didn't have to live through it," Kandice answered softly, "to answer your question Alpha, I was running because Alpha Carlos had sent Michael out to bring me back to have me killed. It was against his law to leave our land. I was to be sentence to death and killed by his bare hands."

"Son of a b!tch," Sean growled.

"He took over your land?" Lilly asked her.

"Yes, he did. Our pack was weak and our previous Alpha had just passed away so we were suppose to be sent to different packs, but then he claimed to have been sent by the council to take up the role as Alpha," Kandice answered, "there was about forty people the most in our pack so it wasn't so bad, most of them were women and children so we didn't stand a chance."

"So who is Michael? Did he have a title there as well or..." I asked but trailed off.

"He was Alpha Carlos' beta. I'm not sure if he played the part of both beta and third in command but..."

"That's impossible, you can't have the same man being both beta and third in command," I protested. There was no way that one man could handle so much responsibility.

"Well, as I said before, Alpha Carlos changed the rules and regulations of the pack."

The Next Day...

I woke up with Zara tangled in me and her head on my chest. A smile instantly found its way on my face and I trailed my fingers up her arm to her neck. My fingers caressed her cheek and I leaned down to kiss her forehead. I looked over at the night stand and noticed my phone where Zara last had it. She was playing a game while I was talking to Keith and I swear she is so addicted. Probably I should get her a phone, so I could have mine back.

I heard a groan beside me and I looked down to see Zara's eyes fluttering open.

"Morning beautiful," I greeted her. She looked up at me and smiled.

"Morning," she said.

"So that's all I get after I say 'morning beautiful'?" I teased, "I expected something more...you know, something like handsome, sexy---"

"Alright," she said laughing as her lips covered mine. I smiled against them and wrapped my arm around her waist.

"So you ready for school?" I pulled back and asked which made her groan.

"Can't I stay here?" she whined. I laughed at this and looked at her.

"Now why would I want you here when I'll be at school?"

"You're just jealous that I could be here, while you have to go to that hell hole," she mumbled in my chest.

"Well we aren't going this week, since school starts on Thursday which is a pretty stupid idea. They should have just started on Monday," I said, "Also I need to finalise your brother's pack in the school as well."

"My brother's pack?" confusion was seen clearly in her blue eyes.

"Yeah, well since they are near here, the council insists that they go to school and especially when they have been rogues in the past, they'll have to go to school,"

"Well, are you going to tell them that?"

"They're all downstairs right now, they didn't leave yet so I can just tell them today,"

"Good luck with that," Zara said shaking her head.

"What I meant to say was, we were going to tell them," I said smirking slightly. She rolled her eyes at me and sighed.

"I doubt my brother would want to go back to school,"

"No teenager wants to go back to school," I commented.

"Exactly! So why am I going?" she asked and it was my turn to roll my eyes.

"Oh and we also need to introduce you and Lilly to the pack," I said changing the subject, "along with Lucas' pack."

"Oh, alright I guess, when do you want to do that?"

"We could do it Friday night or Saturday, either one," I answered with a shrug. It didn't really matter. I'm really happy that she agreed to meet the pack though.

"Okay," she said with a smile, "how many are in the pack?"

"About 400 the most," I said and her eyes went wide.

"400 people? How am I going to meet 400 people Hayden," I could see the worry in her eyes, "what if they don't like me? What if---"

"Zara, relax ok. I'll be beside you most of the time okay, and they will like you, no matter what," I assured her. She sighed not convinced and placed her head in the crook of my neck, inhaling slightly. I rubbed her back affectionately and kissed her cheek.

"It'll be fine, I promise,"

Friday night...

Zara's POV

Today was the introduction dinner and social and I was nervous as hell. What if they didn't like me? What if they thought I was going to be a bad Luna? What if they---

"Zara, quit over thinking," Natalya said as she entered the room. She was dressed in a trendy black satin cocktail dress. She looked really good, plus her hair was straightened and put to the back. I was dressed in a pink cocktail dress with satin straps going around my neck to my waist, doing an 'X' across the front.

"I can't help but over think things, Natalya," I said with a frown.

"They'll like you ok, you're a great person," Nat said seriously. I smiled at her.

"Even though I stole Hayden from you?" I tried to joke around, remembering the first time we met and became friends. She laughed.

"Yeah, guess I'll just have to settle with Bryon," she said with a dramatic sigh.

"Settle for me? Babe, you got the best," Bryon inputted as he entered the room. He smiled when we both laughed, "You look really nice by the way Zara."

"Thanks," I said giving him a warm smile.

"Now get the hell out of this room and go welcome your pack," Bryon ordered. I rolled my eyes but went downstairs none the less. Everyone froze when I entered the kitchen. To think I can't even come in the kitchen for a glass of water...

"Zara," Hayden called out and came to wrap his arms around me, "this is my aunt, Maggie."

"Luna," she greeted with a smile and then everyone else looked at me and bowed.

"You guys don't have to do that," I said softly making Hayden chuckle behind me.

"Maggie will be preparing dinner for the entire pack tonight. Are you going to make that fine apple pie of yours?" Hayden asked her.

"You know me too well," Maggie answered with a wink. Hayden whispered in my ear.

"Maggie makes the best apple pie ever," he stated, "you look absolutely beautiful."

"Thanks," I said smiling as I turned around to look at him, "you don't look so bad yourself."

"I know," he smirked. Cocky bastard...

"Hayden, everyone's seated and ready. Let's get this show on the road so I can eat," Karen came in and said. I laughed and Hayden carried me outside, walking hand in hand. I gasped when I saw everything. They were all seated and there was now a huge stage at the front. Hayden dragged me up the stairs and I could feel every eye on me.

"Good night all. I'd like to say thank you all for coming on such short notice. This event is mainly to introduce a few new persons to the pack and our land, along with our Luna," applauses and cheers went of as Hayden said that, "Ladies and gentlemen, I'd love to introduce my mate, our Luna, Zara Ferrari," another set of applauses came up and I blushed as Hayden gestured to the microphone.

"Uhh...I didn't quite prepare a speech or anything, but I'd like to say hi to everyone and that I will try to be the best Luna that anyone has ever seen," I got some cheers so I knew I was doing okay, "and I will stand by Hayden, our Alpha as long as I live." I looked over at Hayden as they applauded and noticed he was smiling. He mouthed to me 'that was good' and I smiled in relief.

"Alright, other than or Luna, we have a new Beta. James has found his mate as well. James, Lilly," he called out to them. They got up and waved to the crowd then sat down. The pack really looked happy and content.

"Lastly, we have a new pack among us, the Midnight Shadows. They will be sharing...well owning the eastern part of our land, but it will be considered theirs so no one is allowed over there without permission from Lucas, the Alpha of the Midnight Shadows or myself. I gave them that land because I noticed that most of the pack members weren't living there," he stated.

"And because it was your smallest piece of land," I mumbled but because I was so close to Hayden, and the microphone, my voice was amplified. The pack laughed and I looked down blushing. Hayden laughed beside me and gave me a peck on my blushing cheek.

"Well, Zara remember we weren't exactly on speaking terms," Hayden said to me then continued, "right, well that is all I can think of for now. Everyone have a great evening and enjoy the food." I head Bryon shout out a 'thank you' making everyone else laugh.

"Now all you have to do is go mingle with some members and that's it," Hayden said beside me. I groaned slightly but nodded and leaned up to kiss him.

"After this, can I borrow your phone?" I asked him. I really wanted to try playing After Earth. The game was similar to Temple Run but it was much cooler.

"Zara, I think you need to get your own phone," he said amused. I laughed and looked at him and noticed that he wasn't joking.

"Hayden, you don't have to--"

"Yeah I do, you need to have your own phone so I can have mine back," he said then kissed my lips once again, "don't worry about it, ok. Now go mingle,"

Jonah's POV

Jenna and I were sitting on the sofa inside waiting for the food. We were discussing her birthday and what we could do.

"You sure you don't want to go somewhere, Jenna?" James asked her. She shook her head giving him a 'no'.

"I'd rather just stay in and get some sleep," she said.

"It's not everyday you're gonna be eighteen, you know," James said to her.

"Yes, I'll be eighteen for the rest of that year until I turn nineteen," she retorted and I chuckled.

"That's not what I meant," James mumbled, "we could go--"

"James, she's trying to give you a hint. She's not gonna go out with you because she's going out with Jonah," Lilly said. He frowned at this and I laughed at him.

"So he get's to take you out and I can't?"

"James, he's my mate, you're my brother," Jenna told him with an amused smile on her lips.

"So?" James asked and Jenna and Lilly shared a look before laughing, "Fine. Where are you two going anyway?"

"Just a dinner," I said before Jenna responded. He didn't need to know about the hotel part. Hell, she wasn't supposed to know about that part yet.

"Just a dinner, eh?" James asked curiously making me roll my eyes.

"You said you'd leave us alone, so quit it,"

"It's not her birthday yet, I could still make you disappear," James said with a shrug. Jenna scolded him and he smiled innocently.

"Just don't get her pregnant, I wouldn't want her to look like that," he joked pointing towards Karen who was messily eating a hot dog. She stopped and looked towards us, giving us that look.

"Don't judge me, I'm pregnant," she said before digging into her hot dog once again while looking at the TV.

"She won't get pregnant, don't worry,"
