Chapter 44- Save The Good Memories For Later... (Day 6)

The Triton Kings were taking a little adventure of their own. We all were just exploring and after Hayden told us that there was some secret building that hasn't been in use for years, Abigale instantly agreed that we go check it out.

"How much longer?" Natalya asked as she clung to Bryon. He laughed and wrapped his arm tighter around her.

"Not much longer Talya," Bryon said smiling at her. Everyone stopped and turned to look at them.

"Talya?" Hayden asked him with a smile tugging at his lips.

"Why is everyone looking at me like that?" Bryon asked.

"We've been trying to get a nickname for her from forever," Jenna stated.

"Well you guys can go get your own. That name was original and all me, so back off," Bryon barked playfully.

"Well, what nickname should we use then? I kind of didn't like Nat," Abigale said.

"Well you're not the one who was actually called that. I told James I didn't like it, but he spread it all over the place and before you know it, everyone now knew my nickname was Nat," Natalya said.

"Well, how about....hmmm...how about," Bryon tried to think, "how about Lia...oh wait, Tia. Yeah, that's perfect for you guys," he continued and my breath hitched at my throat. Tia? Tears flooded my eyes and I looked away from them.

"Zara, what's wrong?" Hayden asked and he was immediately by my side. I couldn't...I couldn't take it right now. I just backed away from him and started running.

Tia, I miss her so much. How could he have killed her? She was barely one year old!

My feet came to a stop when I looked wide-eyed at the beautiful building came to view. Even though a few weeds had grown on the walls, it made it stand out even more. There was a pathway going up so I eagerly followed it, trying to see more.

"Zara!" I heard the others shout out, but I was too focussed on the building. You could tell it was ancient because of the type of material used to build it. Although the door was gone, along with most of the windows I couldn't help but feel...amazed with it. I walked in and tried to avoid any object on the ground.

"Zara, what the hell?" Hayden said as he came behind me. He wrapped his arm around me pulling me back.

"No, don't, I'm fine," I told him in a small voice. He sighed and reluctantly let me go.

"Guys, she's in here!" he informed the others. One by one they all came in looking around. I walked into a room and saw a huge piano sitting there. It was completely covered in dust.

"Hayden, wasn't this the music room?" Bryon asked him.

"Yeah, it was but no one had an interest in music for years so they stopped cleaning it," Hayden explained.

"Well, it looks like it hasn't been cleaned for years," Natalya commented as she wiped her finger on the edge of the piano then looked at the dust on the tip.

"Maybe we can fix it up," I suggested. All eyes turned to look at me.

"Babe, this place needs a little more than fixing up," Hayden told me.

"Well, let's rebuild this entire place. Shouldn't be that hard," I commented with a shrug. They all seemed to be in deep thought as I trailed my hands along the strings of the guitar along the walls. They were hung up beautifully, probably as a style or decoration. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd like to see this place happen again.

An hour later...

It took us mostly an hour to get back to the campsite because of Bryon and Hayden. They were both unsure about the directions to which way we came from. When we finally got in and Aunt Becky asked why we were so tired, we explained the situation but all she did was shrug and said we could have taken the shorter way going through the pathway. Now, everyone turned to glare at Bryon.

"Well, how should I have known," he protested, "get over it you big babies."

Other than that, everything was fine. We had played some board games (complying with Aunt Becky's request because we were going to modern for a camping trip) and had a really awesome time.

In the evening...

"Hey Zara," Hayden called out. I looked up from the game I was playing on his phone and looked at him, "the guys are gonna have a camp-out. Wanna come?"

"Yeah sure," I told him then put on my sweater.

"Lilly, I swear to God these are the best marshmallows and smores I've ever tasted!" James said to his mate who blushed at the compliment.

"It's nothing really..." then she trailed off as she went red with all the attention on her. I chuckled and took a bite into mine.

"I told you she had the best of 'em in town," I said with an accent. Everyone laughed and continued to say thanks to her for the moment.

"You know what I just remembered?" Alexander asked looking particularly at Hayden and me.

"What's that?" Bryon asked him.

"The way how Hayden treated Zara when he first met her," he said. Now all the attention had drifted towards me and him.

"How did he treat her?" Lucas suddenly became interested and I rolled my eyes at his behaviour. Overprotective much...

"He treated her like crap," James responded.

"James," Hayden growled, "I did no such thing!"

"Uhh...yeah you did Hayden," Conner then spoke, "remember your exact orders were to take her away to the basement."

"Those weren't my orders, they were Natalya's," Hayden stated. They all looked at Nat for approval and all she did was shrug.

"Don't look at me, she was being a b!tch," she said then her gaze caught mine, "correction, she was being a major b!tch. I don't like it when people insult me."

"Awww, did I burn you that day, Nat?" I cooed and laughed when she scowled at me then folded her arms.

"Then there was Tom and Lloyd," Logan said shaking his head. Hayden growled angrily beside me.

"Who are Tom and Lloyd?" Miles asked.

"The pack's former security, under Keith our head of security," Hayden quickly explained, "when Zara was in the basement, something happened that caused the both of them to beat her senseless."

"What?!" Lucas exclaimed.

"Don't worry about it, I took care of them," Hayden said.

"Then there was that issue where Hayden wouldn't come out of the room that Zara slept in," Conner stated and I looked at Hayden with my eyebrow raised in amusement.

"Oh really?"

"I wanted to make sure that the machines were working just fine and....uhh...yeah," he stuttered and I laughed at him.

"Yeah, sure the machines," James said rolling his eyes.

"And then the point where Hayden and Conner had a fight," Logan said.

"What were you two fighting about?" asked Krissy.

"Just because Zara was paying more attention to me than him---"

"That is so not true Conner!"

"Zara can admit it," Conner turned to look at me.

"Well at that point you were the only one who was treating me with some respect and he stood up for me so," I responded.

"And the mate speaks the truth!" Conner exploded. Hayden laughed and rolled his eyes.

"By the way, Conner how in the world did you know that Zara was my mate?" Hayden then asked.

"Well, it was completely obvious. The way you reacted to her the day when we all captured her, then when James had told you that she was in the basement you completely freaked out,"

"I did?" Hayden asked and a few chuckled escaped in the air.

"Yeah you did. Then while you were on your rampage to search and kill Tom and Lloyd, I had to tell the pack that she was your family friend," Conner continued.

"What other happy memories do we have?" I asked lying comfortably against Hayden's chest.

"Zara, those were far from happy memories," James said, "you call you being beaten to a pump a happy memory?"

"Alright, what's another memory. One that everyone hear can prove for, I'm sure we've all had memories from the past few days," I rephrased.

"Alright, well I can one of the memories is Hayden and Lucas beating the crap out of each other," Zack said.

"I think the statement should have said 'Lucas beating the crap out of Hayden'," Lucas said smirking at Hayden. Hayden gave him a sarcastic laugh but added nothing more.

"So no response, Hayden?" Gavin asked raising his eyebrow.

"Nah, let him live in his fantasy world," Hayden said returning the smirk. Lucas copied his sarcastic laugh and threw it right back at him.

"So you guys are cool then?" Bryon asked.

"Yeah, we are...I guess, for the sake of Zara we can't keep fighting. Lucas made an ass of himself the last time," Hayden replied with a frown. I felt his arm tighten around my waist.

"Yeah, I actually agree with you on that one," Lucas said looking at me with apologetic smile. I nodded at him and returned the smile, "and Zara gave me hell for it too. Telling me off about how I could have hurt her precious mate. Imagine three hours of cursing while your sister is sitting there in a hospital bed."

"All is forgiven, don't worry dear brother," I told him.

"Oh, do you guys remember when Zara used her Alpha Female strength to wake Lucas up?" Abigale asked. Lucas laughed and ran his hand through his hair.

"Yeah, she one stubborn girl," he said.

"Oh, I'm the stubborn one?" I asked him with fake anger. He saw right through it though and laughed along with the rest of them.

"Has everyone heard about the music room?" I asked Hayden silently. He nodded.

"Yeah, Aunt Becky said she agreed on rebuilding it for our future generation," he told me making me turn around and look at him with my eyebrow raised.

"Future generation, huh?"

He smirked at me, "Hell yeah babe. Our kids are gonna be here for summer."

"Who said anything about us having children?" I playfully asked which caused him to slightly groan, "in fact, you not even getting me naked much less---" I continued but Hayden interrupted me with his lips. I giggled against them and pulled back.

"Come on, Zara. I'm a growing male,"

"What's that got to do with anything?" I asked him.

"Growing males have needs," he only said which had me popping up in laughter.

"What's she laughing about?" Bryon asked from my left.

"She thinks the thought of us having children is absurd," Hayden answered, "she's depriving me of my male needs, bro."

"I feel it for you, bro," Bryon said patting Hayden on the back.

"Not like you're getting any in that department," Natalya muttered loud enough for us to hear, which set us both of in a round of laughter.

"Yeah, sure, bruise my ego why don't you?" Bryon said sarcastically. Natalya blew him a kiss and winked at me.

"Not like our kids are gonna---"

"Our kids?" Alexander came in and again we had everyone's attention.

"I think a place like this is really fit for our kids, for the summer," Lizzie stated.

"So, when that time comes, are you saying you want them to fly out just for a camp?" Alexander asked her.

"Well, it would be a little costly, but it's worth it," she replied and there were murmurs among the Nixon Shadows pack.

"Why don't you guys just build one there?" Zack suggested. Of course he wasn't really being serious by the look on his face, but they were actually considering it.

"Yeah, that would be great!" Krissy exclaimed as she looked towards Alexander and Lizzie.

"We'll talk about it more when we head back home," Alexander said.

"We should all encourage this," Natalya said, "wanting to have our children go to a camp like this."

"Well, by that time I don't think I'll be running it anymore," Aunt Becky stated as she approached the camp fire.

"Well who knows what will happen. Becky. You could have a twin or better yet, a clone," Logan said and I rolled my eyes. Ahh boy...

"A clone, Logan. Really?" Danielle asked.

"Yeah, a clone never ages you know," Logan replied trying to look smart. I think it's best if we just ignore him and his crazy talk.

"Alright, who wants to hear a scary story?" I asked loudly.

"You're gonna tell a scary story?" Lucas asked my chuckling slightly. I frowned at him.

"I could tell a scary story," I retorted. He gestured for me to begin then folded his arms across his chest.

"Alright," I started, "once upon a time---"

"Zara, we said scary story, not fairy tale," Lucas interrupted.

"I haven't reached that part yet," I said to him then continued, "once upon a time, a little boy was digging in his garden when he found a big toe. He tried to pick it up but it wouldn't budge. The mother and father saw it and both agreed to have the toe for dinner. They all had a piece and happily went to bed. Then the boy started hearing groans and noises coming towards him. It sounded like it was coming from outside his window. It groaned, 'where is my big toe?' and the boy was scared shitless. He kept thinking of how it would go away but the groaning got louder and louder. The Creepy Voice enters the house, in search for his big toe and the boy is shaking in terror when it opens the door. He couldn't move as he stared at it. He asked the Creepy Voice, 'W-w-w-what you got such big eyes for,' and the voice answered, 'To look th-o-ough and thro-o-ough!' Then the little boy asked it, 'w-w-w-what you got such big claws for?' and it answered, 'To scra-a-atch up your gra-a-ave!' Thirdly, the little boy asked it, 'W-w-w-what you got such a big mouth for?' and it answered, 'To swallow you who-o-ole!' Then he asked it, 'W-w-w-what you got such sharp teeth for?' and the Creepy Voice growled at him answering, 'TO CHOMP YOUR BONES!',"

"Was that suppose to be scary?" Lucas asked me after all that. I glared at him and flipped him off.

"Like you could do any better," I scoffed. He smirked.

"Challenge accepted," then he begun, "there was always this one girl in an entire neighbourhood that was always dissappearing in the woods so one day a guy who liked her followed her, curious to what she was doing. He lost track of her within seconds and he noticed that it was getting darker but when he tried to go back, there was fog developing and causing him not to see well. Then he stepped in something. Thinking it was water, he bent down and looked at his shoe, only to see blood running through it. He shrieked frightened and turned the opposite way but he found himself staring at a very scary face, smiling at him. The smile was even bigger than Joker's. That boy was never found but it is said that the spirit who killed him still haunts these woods and can be heard when ever a branch crushes; that's his signal to tell you that he's near," Lucas said then as if on cue a deadly howl erupted in the air. I shivered and turned to get up but that same scary face stood in front of me. I screamed and almost tripped over the log but Hayden caught me.

Lucas, Max and Sean from the Midnight Shadows all laughed while the girls just sat there shocked. I can't believe those bastards! I grumbled angrily then sat up and glared at Lucas.

"You're a bastard, you know that?" I growled at him. I looked behind me to see Oshane coming out of the mask. F*cking bastards.

"Oh, come on Zara it was a joke," Lucas tried to apologize.

"Yeah, well Oshane's lucky I didn't punch him in the face," I responded.

"You have to admit, it was funny," Lucas said, "even Alpha boy over here is laughing," he pointed to Hayden.

"It's not funny," I told everyone then pouted.

"No it's not baby, we're all sorry, aren't we?" Hayden said to me kissing my pouting lip.

"This is definitely going down in history; Zara, the fiery and feisty Zara, was scared by just a baby ghost story," Jonah teased. You guys are all asses...
