《Protected by BTS》Chapter 41: Awkward Tensions

"You guys ended pretty earlier today, is everything okay?" Jimin asked as he started to fill the tub with ice.
"There's definitely something wrong, don't lie. You seem upset and Jungkook didn't come up with you. Did you guys get into an argument?" Seokjin had intuitively perceived. You huffed before getting in the tub. You got in the tub with your sports bra and baggy shorts you borrowed from one of the boys — you weren't sure since the boys' laundry was always just thrown together.
"Well?" Jimin asked since you hadn't responded and took a seat on your bathroom floor.
You blinked a few times, trying to get your thoughts together. You were also freezing and trying to calm down from the ice soothing your sore muscles. You winced slightly from moving and Seokjin saw the amount of new bruises you had. "Wah, he's really going hard on you, isn't he?"
Jimin took note of Seokjin's comment and also saw the amount of bruises littered on your body. A realization hit him. "Oh, I think I know what this is about."
"You d-do?" Your lip quivered as another chill ran throughout your body. Seokjin looked to Jimin in confusion, "You do?" Jimin nodded, "Mhm. And I'm sorry." You clenched you're jaw, waiting for him to continue.
"It's hard to explain but it happened to me too, MiSun." He explained, getting more comfortable in his potion on the floor. Seokjin also sat down and you both patiently waited for Jimin to continue.
"When I was still new to the gang, I wasn't exactly the person I was today. I'll spare you the details of me being in the hospital since it's a long story. But anyways, when I was locked up in the hospital with Hobi, all I wanted to do was escape.
I had no means, no motivation, no trust and no real friends until I met Bangtan. When they broke me out of there, I was so consumed with the thought of being strong. I wished I was stronger so I could've done something about my situation before meeting the members.
One of the people who knew about this sort of depression was Jungkook. He also was going through his own internal battles so I guess we related. While he was dealing with that, he directed his anger during training.
And I'm definitely not saying he's using you as his personal punching bag, please don't get the wrong idea. But when Jungkook used to go hard on me while training, he claimed it was to make me stronger. He used to go so hard on me when he was teaching me how to fight." Jimin took a second to chuckle slightly, "A terrible dongsaeng, I'm telling you," He sighed. "And I just took it because I knew he had good intentions."

You shook your head, angry at Jimin's explanation. "What are you trying to tell me?" You rolled your eyes and spoke with attitude, "You're saying, he's beating me up, not even trying to pull his punches on an amateur, because he's looking out for me? He's basically beating me up and calling it training.
I understand he wants me to get stronger and sometimes he's going to have to be rough. But something is up with him lately, I can't figure it out. And today ... today he was just being unnecessarily harsh."
They both noticed the venom in your voice and Jimin was at a loss for words.
"MiSun-ah, I'm sure Jungkook has his reasons. I think I finally understand what this is about, but I can't vouch for him. I'm not saying he's not an ass for doing this to you. But Jungkook is honestly one of the most pure hearted people I know. He's not just taking out his anger on you, I know him to be better than that." Seokjin explained. "I'm not trying to cover for him. I'm just saying, there's got to be another reason." He stood up and pulled Jimin with him, "We should leave you alone now. I promise I'll give Jungkook a piece of my mind for hurting you so bad during training. Come on Jiminie."
"Goodnight, MiSun-ah. Sleep well." Jimin nodded to you and you just waved them off before they left you.
Seokjin and Jimin went to Jungkook's room, ready to scold their maknae. They got to his room and Jimin knocked on his door. When they didn't hear an answer, they walked in.
What they saw, somewhat shocked them.
Jungkook was at the foot of his bed, elbows resting on his knees, and his head hung low. Small sniffles were heard as Jungkook grabbed another tissue from the box next to him.
"Jungkook-ah?" Seokjin went to sit next to him and Jimin sat in front of the bed, trying to meet eye to eye with him.
"Why are you crying?" Jimin wanted to hug and comfort his maknae but it was such a rare sight to see him cry. He almost never cried. Jungkook hiccuped from crying and wouldn't stop brushing his nose, trying to calm his breathing. "
"Come on Kook, what's up?" Seokjin rubbed Jungkook's shoulder. After a long pause and more crying, Jungkook composed himself. "Don't comfort me. I deserve this." He covered his eyes and the bags beneath them but Jimin noticed.

"Why are the under of your eyes like that? Have you been sleeping?" Jimin made his dongsaeng look at him. Jungkook gave up trying and looked at his hyung.
"You haven't been sleeping." Jimin noted and Seokjin slapped his back. "Yah! What's wrong with you? Why aren't you sleeping? Why are you hurting MiSun-ah?"
Jungkook didn't want to talk about it. He pushed his hyungs away and stood up. "I'm going to workout again."
Seokjin and Jimin tried to console him but they didn't want to fight him. If he wanted to be alone, he has the right to. He would come to them if he needed them. For now, he should just settle it out in his mind by himself. "Let him go. He usually burns off steam that way anyway." Seokjin held Jimin back.
"Those two better resolve this soon." Jimin said before storming out, upset that someone in the house was fighting and Seokjin agreed.
~~~
You woke up, reveling once again in the feeling of finally having your own room. For the past few days, you had been training with Jungkook, but after last night, you definitely were not going to continue. Or at least, you weren't going to go today. You needed a break from that jerk.
Wanting breakfast, you groaned out of bed, still extremely sore, and started to get ready for the day. After brushing your teeth and changing. you headed to the kitchen to see Jungkook hunched over the counter, eating his own breakfast. You tensed and wished you hadn't left your room.
He noticed your presence as well and wanted to disappear. Pretending like you didn't exist, he continued chewing his food. You decided to be the bigger person and speak first, "Do you mind if we don't train today?" You asked nonchalantly as you started to prepare your own breakfast.
"Oh... yeah. Of course. I guess I have other work to do for Bangtan. We can take the day off." He replied very awkwardly. The atmosphere was embarrassing and you just wished you stayed in your room.
Sitting down on the farthest seat away from him, you couldn't hold your whimper of pain as your entire body aches sitting down. Your muscles felt like giving out on you. You pretend like it hadn't bothered you, but Jungkook could definitely see through you. He bit his lip, upset that he had hurt you so much and the both of you continued to munch on your food. Agonizing minutes went by and it was excruciating. The only sound that pierced the air was the chewing of your guys' food.
Trying to engage in conversation, he spoke first, "All the guys went out today."
"Oh, really? Will they be back by dinner?" You queried, even though you knew the members always made it home for dinner after the party.
"Yeah. Yoongi hyung said he'll cook something."
"Oh, cool."
"Yeah..."
Awkward silence ensued.
Finally, Jungkook had hurriedly finished his food, wanting to get out of your presence. "I'll get going first. Have a good day, Misun." He said formally and you just waved as you barely spared him a glance.
You sighed a breath of relief as you ran to your room when he was out of sight. Why do I do this to myself? You scolded yourself for being in that awkward situation.
You jumped in bed, bored as hell. There's nothing you can do for your father without those people contacting you, and training was the only real thing you could do that was productive. After a few contemplating minutes and lazy wallowing on your bed, you had decided.
You got changed in your workout clothes and decided to head to the gym. Jungkook said he was going to do work for Bangtan and working out seemed better without him. You could still train, you were just not having a great time with Jungkook, obviously.
You headed down to the gym, and thought that maybe you can get your head straight with Jungkook if you imagined his face as the punching bag. When the elevator doors opened, you had planned just to do that, until you saw the familiar bunny slumped and unconscious against the wall next to the punching bag.
"Jungkook?!"
