《Protected by BTS》Chapter 34: Taehyung

You woke up to feel someone at your feet. Looking down, you recognized the bedroom and the person changing your sock. Scared, you pull your feet back and jerk to sit upright, wondering how you got here. Disoriented from waking up in a strange place, you felt a sense of panic spread your chest. Freaking out, you started to hyperventilate and your vision blurred as you felt like passing out on the bed once again.
"Hey, hey," Taehyung smiles cutely, "Calm down. You're home. I'm just putting socks from the dryer on your feet." He immediately grabbed your calf once again and put the remaining sock on. But you couldn't hear him.
Your chest pained and tightened as you felt a sensation of fear and panic flood your body once again. You couldn't remember where you were and what happened. Trying to control your breathing, you sat up and cradled your legs to your chest.
Taehyung instantly knew what was happening and rummaged the room for where he had put that bottle Dr. Choi had given you. You started to shake and silently cry.
Luckily, Taehyung had found the bottle and forced you to swallow 2 pills with water. For minutes, you were sobbing into your knees and Taehyung patiently waited but you eventually calmed down.
You rubbed your eyes, feeling your heartbeat returning to normal. "What-what happened? How did I get here?" You asked groggily and pushed your hair back.
Taehyung was relieved and returned to what he was doing earlier. It was as if nothing happened. He started to change the sleeping Jungkook's socks as well. Jungkook was sleeping beside you. "Well what's the last thing you remember?"
"I went to Ansan to find my father. But that ahjussi tricked me." You grimaced and Taehyung froze in his tracks thinking 'her uncle was the one who tricked her. Her uncle is the one that kidnapped her. When are we supposed to tell her?'
You continued, "He tied me up but I was able to run... and I think I fell into the water?" Realization hit you as you flashed back to the water. Your mind flash backed to when you drowned as you saw the surface of the water slowly getting further away from you. It was dark and cold, you don't remember anything after blacking out.
I thought I drowned. I should be dead.
Tae walked up to you, instantly flicking your forehead with his long fingers." Ow! Ow, ow, ow! What was that for?"
"You left to do something stupid without telling us. If we hadn't all gotten home on time and figured out where you were, you probably would be dead." Tae glared and your glare softened.
"I'm sorry ... I-,"
"You don't have to explain yourself to me." He smiled. "I'm just glad everyone's okay."
You nodded. "So what happened after that?"
"Well, Jungkookie jumped in to save you, you idiot. When we found you, you were unconscious and Jungkook was about to pass out himself. You guys were freezing and your body temperatures were really low." He explained and you tensed slightly. Looking over at Jungkook, he was slightly paler than usual. He jumped in for me? You could only feel remorse for him as he saved you from your own actions. You owed him your life. Tae saw your longing gaze and he knew what you were thinking. You were blaming yourself. Wanting you to snap out of it, he flicked your forehead again and the echo of his fingers to your skull ensured you how hard he hit you.

"Ow! Stop that!"
"We were really worried, MiSun. Here." He held out a thermometer for you to put in your mouth and you did. It was silent as you both waited for it to read your temperature. Once it beeped, he took it out. "96 degrees, that's pretty good. Seokjin hyung is cooking soup for dinner so it should help."
"How are the other members?" You asked scared, hoping that none of them got hurt for your sake.
"The members are fine, don't worry. They were shooting tranquilizers at us for some reason and Yoongi hyung was hit." You blamed yourself again. "But it's just a tranquilizer. He woke up and just feels pretty lazy. Jungkook woke up earlier but went back to bed since he was still slightly feverish."
You stayed quiet. You knew the boys cared for you but now they were putting their lives on the line for you. It's not fair.
"I'm sorry. I just wanted to help my dad, I didn't want to get you guys involved. I'm really-," He cut you off. "You can apologize for leaving but don't apologize for your intentions. We all knew what we were getting ourselves into. We all know you wanted to help your dad, he's your family." Taehyung explained to sit down by your side on the large bed.
"But you guys could have been hurt or worse: dead. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if anything happened. I just ... I wanted to help my father."
"MiSun. We'll always be there for you. The boys will always have your back. That's just who we are. We'll never let anything happened to one of our own. So don't apologize for wanting to save your father. If anything, we're just upset that you didn't tell us. You've been keeping a lot of things from us, I know. Starting off with your panic attacks, you just had one when you woke up. I had Dr. Choi prescribe you another bottle because I have no idea where you put your first one.
You chuckled nervously, "Ha... Ha.... funny story."
"I'm serious, MiSun-ah. That's not something to joke about. I just want to help you because I've been there before." He said and you remembered the day you guys went to Dr. Choi's. Taehyung seemed to be angry and he knew you were having panic attacks.
"What have you gone through, oppa? You wouldn't know what the signs of a panic attack are without having one yourself."
He turned away to look at the floor, ready to tell you his story. "Well I heard you had the classic story time with Yoongi hyung. We all kind of have had one with him. And that's the only time you will ever see him talk about feelings." You both laughed before the conversation turned grim.
"I guess my story starts from when I was a boy. I had a happy life with my parents and little sister. But I guess I was too young to notice the realities of life.
My parents weren't happy. They constantly fought and my sister helped distract me from all of that. Things got bad one day and he hit my mom. After that day, their fights became physical. She couldn't take it anymore, so she left. She left my sister and I to my dad and never looked back.

We ended up taking the beatings, especially whenever he got drunk. It was a terrible situation but none of us ever spoke up about it.
I tried to protect my sister whenever I could. I took most of the hits but she still wasn't safe from him. I left her alone with him once on a school fieldtrip." He started to sniffle, "I shouldn't have left her with him. Things got out of hand and he ended up sending my sister to the hospital. He covered it up as my sister falling down the stairs and everyone believed him. She had traumatic brain injuries from when he hit her head too many times and ... and she didn't make it. They classified it as an accidental death instead of a homicide.
When I got back, I attacked my father in anger. I completely lost it and I ended up stabbing him with a piece of glass. He just... he just took everything away from me. My father made my mother run away, killed my sister, and I wanted him dead.
I became a fugitive. I had so many anxiety attacks from the PTSD I experienced. Every time I closed my eyes, I used to see him abusing my mother or sister. Or I see myself killing him, but he taunts me for not being able to save them.
It haunted me for so long. So I know what you're going through. You need to talk to someone about your panic attacks." He brushed the tears away and looked back at you. It was as if he was never crying, he composed himself so quick. "And you need to take your medicine. The boys and Dr. Choi's medicine really helped me get through all the panic attacks I had."
You were speechless. He had thrown so much information at once at you. You teared up, just trying to imagine what he went through.
Beside you, Jungkook was secretly awake, listening to his hyung's story. He had woken up sometime after Tae had calmed you do. He hadn't heard his hyung talk about his father issues or panic attacks in a long time. Taehyung didn't like talking about it, in fact, he almost never talked about it, but he was telling you. Jungkook kept his eyes closed, eavesdropping in on the conversation.
"Oppa," Was all you could manage out before completely bursting into tears. "You guys go through so much. It must've been so hard, I'm sorry." You continued to sob in an ugly way. "The members go through so much, I can't imagine how hard it's been to get where you are today. I'm sorry all of you guys have gone through so much. I wish you all lived happier lives." You poured.
"But we do MiSun-ah." Taehyung lifted your chin and smiled. "Sure, we came from rough pasts. But look at us now. We're happy. I'm happy to have met the boys, I'm happy I met you! Of course I miss my sister and my mom. But I can't do anything but miss them, there's nothing I can change for them. The only thing I can do now is make sure to protect the new family I have. All I can do now is make sure that the members know they have a family here. That's why I told you my story. It's because we're all we've got. And that's more than enough for me." He wiped your tears away with his thumb and you smiled.
"That was cheesy." You shook your head and Taehyung rolled his eyes before flicking you once again. "Ow!"
"It's supposed to be a touching moment, pabo."
"Could you stop flicking me?!" You laughed, "Are all the members sensitive? It seems like all of you guys are cheesy."
"Actually, a lot of us are extremely sensitive guys. Except for I'd say Seokjin hyung Jungkookie and Yoongi hyung. It's a miracle you even got to witness Yoongi talking about his feelings, it's really hard for him to talk to anyone about that. He rarely does that for us and we've known him for years. Honestly, it's probably the last time you'll ever see him be that vulnerable."
"I think so too," you both agreed in laughter.
"I should thank Jungkook oppa when he wakes up. I really would have died without him, I remember drowning before someone pulled me up. I guess it was him."
Jungkook smiled at the word 'oppa.'
"Oppa? He's going to love being called oppa for once. We used to always treat him like a baby but then he started hitting us." Taehyung pretended to act scared in a cute way. "He's a terrible dongsaeng."
Jungkook clenched his fists, wanting to speak up but knew he had to pretend being asleep.
"I'm not calling him oppa to his face. He's too much of a baby." You giggled and Jungkook internally rolled his eyes. "But I do owe him. I should thank him somehow. I should actually thank all the members somehow. Any ideas?"
"Well for one you can follow orders and stop being stupid." And you slapped his arm playfully. "You're a terrible dongsaeng too! Yah! Don't hit your elders!" Tae yelled.
"Focus! How do you think I should thank all the members?" You reverted back to the subject and Taehyung looked upwards in thought, "Okay wait, I actually might have an idea!"

Quirkless?
As a small child my whole perception of the world changed. I was surrounded by liars and fakes. Humans are such a cruel species, if someone doesn't fit they are cast out. People turn a blind eye to cruelty I've faced, people don't care about the quirkless. Except I'm not quirkless. Far from it. All I can say is my treatment in this world made me strong but cold, bitter and apathetic. I was the only human I could trust, I and I alone. Here is the story of how I ended up in my version of hell, UA. Surrounded by, well you know, just about every single person I couldn't get far enough away from. And an overkill quirk just about everyone wanted a piece of. Yeah I was dealt some pretty shitty cards, now you'll see how I play them.Uploads depend on my schedule but I'll try weekly also error will be made cuz I dotn proof read, when I've finished I'll go over it 😅 The story follows Izuku but if there's a change in povs there will be a indication ⚠️ warning swearing and violence⚠️
