《Protected by BTS》Chapter 32: Hypothermia

No pulse. Not breathing.
"Shit."
He quickly got on one side of you and placed his hands in between your chest. Interlocking his fingers, he started to push against your sternum.
"1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30." He counted out loud with each forceful push he did above your heart. After counting and doing his 30 chest compressions, he removed his hands and placed one at the bottom of your chin, tilting your head slightly up.
He hesitated for a microsecond but decided fuck it. Jungkook needed to save you. Instantly he connected his cold lips with yours.
He attempted to push air into your lungs by attempting mouth to mouth resuscitation with two breaths. The small thought at the back of his mind noticed your soft, yet frozen lips. If only he could savor the moment and the feeling, but obviously your life was on the line.
Proceeding his two breaths, he immediately forced his lips off of yours and started to do the chest compressions once again.
"1,2,3,4,5,6-"He stopped counting and removed his hands when he felt a slight jolt from your body. You coughed dryly at first but then regurgitated large amounts of water out of your mouth.
Jungkook quickly laid you on your side, patting your back to help you force all the water out of your lungs. You continuously threw up water to the side. The feeling was not pleasant. Your throat and nostrils burned at the sensation of water instead of oxygen passing through.
Trying to intake large amount of oxygen, your chest heaved and you could finally breathe again before you suddenly collapsed onto the rugged rocks. You didn't care if they scratched your face and were dirty with sea liter. You were just happy to feel oxygen in your lungs again. Your chest rose heavily with harsh intakes of breath as you were laying sideways.
Disoriented, you saw a pair of legs next to your body. Your eyes slowly closed as you tried to make out the figure kneeling above you. Whimpering softly from the cold, you couldn't help but cradle closer to the strange warmth you felt from the figure beside you. Your vision was blurry and soon you saw purple stars dancing in your vision. You passed out before you could see anything more.

Jungkook was shivering as he watched your pale body collapse before him. He smiled, knowing you were alive, and noticed the sharp rocks beneath you. Jungkook immediately pulled you to lay on top of his legs. Your upper body rested on his thighs as he cradled your head with one hand. His thumb trembled over your cheek as he almost cried in joy at your safety.
Noticing the tape around your wrists, Jungkook's fingers trembled as he tried to rip them off. The shiny tape was difficult to remove. But with his raw strength and cold fingertips, he pinched the edges of the adhesive and ripped it away. You were finally free.
Jungkook once againmade sure your heart was beating again and could feel your shallow breathing.
Jungkook relaxed for a moment, resting his forehead on top of yours. He couldn't believe he was able to save you. He was just glad you were in his sight after reading your letter to the rest of the boys.
The moment was interrupted as he heard the crunching of rocks. Someone was near and walking towards you guys. Jungkook panicked.
He was in no condition to fight, especially not with you here. Thoughts of escape routes flashed through his mind. Jungkook knew very well that the low visibility in the night would only make it harder. He tried his hardest to make out any other movement and then he heard another crunch of footsteps on the rocks.
Jungkook cradled you closer, unsure of what to do. If they were going to shoot, maybe at least he could shield you. His body enveloped yours and he was shaking from the cold and helplessness.
"Calm down, Jungkook-ah, it's me." Seokjin had emerged from the darkness.
"Oh, hyung. Thank God." All Jungkook's worries went out the window.
"I found them. They're by the east yard, the one with the spiky rocks." He said through the earpiece while taking extra care with his steps over the jagged rocks. He quickly made his way to you guys.
Jimin and Taehyung has also made their way to you guys and emerged from the darkness. "Jungkook-ah!" Jimin screamed as he and Taehyung raced to run through the rocks.
Seokjin easily reached you both first and wrapped his jacket around Jungkook. "Aish. You kids are going to catch a cold being wet." He scolded and knelt to make sure you were alive.

"Ahh, she's breathing. That's good." Seokjin rubbed his hand on your cheeks. "How are you?" He wrapped the jacket tighter around his dongsaeng. "C-could be better." Jungkook huffed out, exhausted and cold. He was still shivering and the cold was becoming unbearable for him.
Taehyung and Jimin had made their way to you guys. Taehyung immediately took off his jacket, putting it on your unconscious body and asking the same question as Seokjin. "How are they?" He and Jimin knelt beside you both.
Jimin removed you from Jungkook's lap and lifted you up. Seokjin replied as he attempted to hold Jungkook up, "They're freezing. We need to get them out of here. Where's the car?"
"It's over there, come on." Taehyung helped Seokjin carry Jungkook. Each draped an arm over their shoulders as they carefully walked over the rocks. Jungkook wasn't mentally there anymore, trying to focus on staying warm. He allowed his hyungs to drag him to the car. Jimin led the way with you in his arms.
After the perilous walk with you in his arms, Jimin held you even closer, noticing how your body felt like ice. "Guys, I don't think she's doing so good." Seokjin and Taehyung had reached his side. They looked over at your pale figure and agreed.
"I'll bring the car to you guys, I'm almost there." Hoseok said through the earpiece.
"Okay." The boys said simultaneously.
"How's Kook?" Jimin turned to face the other boys. Jungkook was hanging off of the shoulders and reality was fading from him fast. The hypothermia was starting to become severe for the both of you.
"I-I'm j-just cold. G-gwench-chana."
Blinding headlights flooded their vision as the van drove up next to them. The window rolled down and Hoseok was driving with an unconscious Yoongi in the passenger seat.
"Wah! What happened to him?" Seokjin gestured to Yoongi. "And should you be driving with that injury?" He scolded to Hoseok.
"Well Yoongi hyung was hit with a tranquilizer and he can't exactly drive now can he? Namjoon is getting everything taken care of after reinforcements showed up. I'll take the kids to Dr. Choi's."
Seokjin gestured for the 95 line to put you both in the van. "You two go with them." Taehyung opened the van door for Jimin to place you inside and got in himself. He helped Taehyung pull Jungkook in.
"I'll go finish things up with Namjoon. Hoseok, you're in charge. Get them to Dr. Choi's, ppalli!" Seokjin ordered and closed the van door once the 95line was inside.
"Don't have to tell me twice to drive fast hyung." Hoseok smirked and sped off, closing the window in the process. He sped down the abandoned road and spoke without taking his eyes off of the road.
"How are they?"
"Jungkook fell asleep and he stopped shivering. But I don't think that's a good sign." Jimin confesses and bites his lip in worry. "MiSun-ah too. She was asleep when we first found them and she hasn't been shivering at all. They're still soaking wet, should we take off their wet clothes?" Taehyung proposed.
"Oh, that's a good idea. I'll turn up the heater back there too." Hoseok said as he started to blast the heater.
Jimin and Taehyung started to remove both of your layers one by one. They stopped at you and Jungkook's undergarments, not wanting to go beyond that. Luckily, there was one large blanket in the van that they used to bundle the both of you with.
Jimin places both of his hands on your guys' foreheads. "They're still cold as ice. This doesn't look good."
"It's fine, we're here already." Hoseok says happily as the car comes to an abrupt stop. Yoongi's unconscious body in the passenger seat flings forward. "Easy on the brakes there hyung." Tae noticed Yoongi's body hit a thump with the dashboard.
Hoseok hurriedly got out of the car. "Let's just get them inside."

Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned.
