"Alright, anymore suitcases?" Marco asks obviously tired.
I shake my head in a 'no' motion.
I grabbed my carryon and began pushing my suitcase to the front door.
It felt good to be back in California, although I would most definitely miss Seattle.
I felt the weight of my suitcase leave my hands as a familiar scent made its way to my nose.
"You seem awfully tired," he said now pushing my suitcase for me.
"I am tired. Thank you anyway," I say.
"The flight wasn't even that long," he comments.
"I'm aware of that but still, I'm just tired," I shrug.
"I thought you liked Seattle," he says.
"I do!" I answer enthusiastically.
"Then why do you seem so glad to leave?" He questions.
I shrug my shoulders.
I really didn't have an answer to that, I didn't even realize how content I was leaving Seattle.
I reach the door to Sophia and I's townhouse and I began unlocking the door.
The familiar scent of air freshener attacks my nose and I instantly feel at home.
I pull my suitcase to the couch and instantly lay down and sigh.
"Feels good to be home," I sigh.
"You're telling me," Leo mocks my actions.
"I've missed my bed," Sophia Alice smiles.
"This is all lovely but can you guys help bring the bags in so we can go home?" Marco asks.
He seems to be in a hurry.
"What's the hurry?" I ask sitting up.
Felix smirks and stares at Marco.
"Enlighten us, Marco. What is the hurry?" He teases.
Marco's cheeks start to turn a bright shade of pink and he looks down.
My hands cover my mouth in shock.
"Oh my God Marco! Do you have a girlfriend?" I ask.
"Not a girlfriend. Although they have been hanging out a lot," Felix smiles.
"Oh," my shoulders flatten in disappointment.
I should've known that Marco and Felix still weren't mature enough to finally settle down with someone.
"So besides Sophia, nobody in this house is in a relationship. That's interesting to say the least," Leo comments.
From the corner of my eye I can see Marco tense a bit.
Sophia Alice and Chris's relationship was still something that Marco didn't really approve of.
He obviously had to get over it but despite still remaining close with Sophia, his relationship with Chris, let's say, altered.
Not to the point where they're uncomfortable around each other, but to the point where Chris is identified more as Sophia's boyfriend instead of Marco's best friend.
If it wasn't for Chris's familiarity with our family for years, I think Sophia wouldn't be dating Chris.
"We could get significant others if we wanted to. We just don't want to," Felix says.
I nod my head sarcastically.
Sure Felix. Sure.
"Enough talk about my nonexistent love life, we gotta run. We've got quite the drive back to the house," Marco says.
I stand up to embrace Marco who happened to be the one closest to me.
"I'll see you soon," He says embracing me back.
I go to hug Felix next after he hugs Sophia Alice.
As the boys open the front door to leave the house, they suddenly stop as another figure stands in the doorway.
"Chris," Felix greets him with a handshake.
Marco and Chris greet each other with a "bro hug" and asks him if he's coming with them to the family house.
Chris shakes his head in a 'no' motion.
"I'm actually here to see your sister," He says.

Felix gags and Marco whispers a "gross" under his breath.
Chris chuckles lightly as the boys say their goodbyes once again and head out the door.
As soon as Chris steps through the door, him and Sophia Alice can't keep their lips off of each other.
Leo and I look to each other and begin gagging instantly.
I grab his hand and drag him into my room, it was obvious that Chris and Sophia Alice had no intentions of stopping.
Once we're in, I shut the door and let out a breath of air.
"That was disgusting," I chuckle.
"You don't have to tell me twice," he still looks traumatized.
I sigh as I take a seat on the chair connected to the vanity.
Leo takes a seat on the edge of my bed.
"Your room is pretty nice," he attempts to make conversation.
"Thank you. I like to keep it simple. Not too much. Room wise at least,"I say.
He plays with the throw cover on my bed as I browse through my phone.
A 'ding' sound from Leo's phone makes me turn my attention towards him.
"Dinner at Xander's tonight," he tells me.
I smile.
I was glad that we were going to be able to go out tonight.
"I'm excited too. That means I get the night off," he smiles.
I roll my eyes and smile.
"Well, you deserve it," I smile.
"I'll drop you and Sophia when you two are ready to go," He says.
I nod my head and stand up.
"I need to find an outfit for tonight," I say opening my closet.
"You're literally going to dinner at your brothers house. You could wear pajamas for all they care," he says.
"I know, I just need to figure out what to wear," I say.
"Just wear jeans and a T-shirt," he suggests.
I nod my head in agreement.
"That was the plan," I say.
________
I stare at the window and furrow my eyebrows in confusion as we turn into a gas station.
"What are we doing here?" I ask.
"What else do you do at a gas station Frankie?" Leo asks.
"Whatever. I'm coming in to get some snacks," I say.
"Don't take too long. We've been traveling all day," Sophia complains.
"Want anything?" Leo asks Chris and Sophia.
They both shake their heads in a 'no' motion and with that we both get out of the car.
We walk into the gas station that is half full.
I could see why, the snack options were top tier.
"Can I trust you to get snacks without getting yourself in some kind of trouble?" Leo asks sarcastically.
I give him a look.
"Of course you can." I say.
He gives me a small smile.
"I'm just paying for the gas and I'll be right back," he says.
I nod my head in understanding and make a B line for the snack isle.
My eyes scan the racks as I search for the snack that would best satisfy me.
Cheetos, Doritos, and Takis were a few of the options in front of me.
I couldn't decide if I wanted chips, candy or a doughnut.
I sighed in frustration.
Why'd I have to be so indecisive.
I reached out for the bag in front of me and scanned the bag.
I shook my head and placed it back on the rack.
I didn't want that.
I crossed my arms over my chest and kept switching my eyes between the two options.

I rolled my eyes and grabbed both of the bags.
Who said I only had to go with one?
I walked through the gas station and stopped when I made my way back to the front.
I squinted my eyes in confusion when I didn't see Leo in the line for gas anymore.
The line had gone and there was nobody waiting in line anymore.
I continued walking briefly peeking down each isle I passed for any sign of Leo, trying to ignore the growing concern that flooded my emotions.
As I passed each isle my concern grew.
Where did he go?
My heart began to beat faster as I approached the end of the gas station with no sign of Leo.
I turned around to go back and check the other half of the gas station when I felt hands grab my body and my cover my mouth.
"Don't say a word," his voice says.
I nod my head as I try to calm my breathing.
As we heard footsteps approaching the corner, Leo pulls my body closer to his in attempts to hide us better.
An older guy wearing all black passes us without a second glance.
"He was watching and following you since we stepped into the gas station," Leo whispered in my ear making the hairs on the back of my next stand up.
He quickly grabs my arm and leads me out of the back door.
Once we're out I finally let out a breath I had no idea I was holding.
I frown once I realized I dropped my chips.
Leo was obviously frustrated as he shook his head.
"Leo.." I began.
He turns around and cuts me off.
"I don't want to hear it Frankie," he says.
"Please don't tell Xander about this," I plead.
He squints his eyes at me.
"Are you serious? Are you seriously asking me not to tell my boss about this?" He asks.
"I don't want them to overreact and put us on lockdown," I explain.
He shrugs his shoulders.
"I'm sorry Frankie but I already made the call as soon as I found out he was following you," he says.
I let out a breath of air.
I couldn't even get mad at him. This was his job.
He sighs and places his hands on my shoulder.
"It's not your fault, Frankie. I'll do everything in my power to make sure you don't suffer because of this," he reassured me.
I nod my head in understanding.
He removes his hand from my shoulders, only to intertwine our hands together.
I smiled due to the feeling of comfort but still felt a sense of dread.
_______________
I was currently sat on the couch as Xander, Tomas, Dylan, and everyone else discussed the situation at the gas station.
They were all speaking as if I wasn't here.
"I think I know who it was," I speak lowly.
Being dishonest with my brothers was going to get me nowhere.
I had to tell them.
They all shoot their attention towards me.
"Who was it, Frankie?" Xander asks calmly.
"I don't think I know exactly who it was but I'm pretty sure I know who sent him," I said.
Xander gives me a nod to continue.
With that, I take a deep breath and explain everything.
Running into Ben in Seattle, the notes and more.
By the end of it, I could tell my brothers were obviously angry and irritated.
"I can't believe that you kept this from us. After everything , you still kept this from us." Marco says.
"I thought I made it perfectly clear that I wanted nothing to do with him. He hasn't done anything since," I say.
The room is silent.
The three oldest seem to be talking with their eyes.
"Thank you for telling us. That was helpful of you," Leo speaks up.
I nod my head.
At least someone was appreciative.
Xander clears his throat and speaks up.
"Yes, thank you for telling us Frankie. Obviously measures must be taken to ensure that Benjamin has no further communication with you, and I'm sure you're aware of the possible sanctions that come with that?" He asks.
I nod my head in understanding.
This was a terrible downside to situations like these.
My only concern was how calm the boys seemed to be about this whole situation.
Their calmness worried me.
"Leo, thanks for alerting us. Since Frankie's with us now, you can have the rest of the night off," Xander tells him.
Leo nods his head and begins to leave.
"Wait! I'll walk you out," I shoot up.
"Sure." Leo answers.
"Be back soon, Frankie. It's late," Tomas says.
I nod my head in understanding and follow Leo out of the door.
When we're outside I start up the conversation.
"I just wanted to say thank you. You telling my brothers allowed me to come clean to them about Ben and it felt much better to finally get it out," I tell him.
He nods his head.
"I'm proud of you for that. I suspected that you were going to keep it to yourself," he says.
I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.
"Wait you knew about Ben? I ask.
He chuckles.
"Frankie I'm your body guard. I know everything regarding your safety. Plus you have a former body guard of yours who's always looking out for you," he says.
Claude.
I also owed him an apology.
I freaked out on him when all he was trying to do was help me.
"Yeah I have to talk to him too," I say out loud.
"Yeah. I'm sure he's already forgiven you. He was just looking out for you," Leo says.
I nod my head in understanding.
"I guess I should also thank you for getting me out of there. You didn't hesitate and I don't know what I'd do if I had a repeat of that day," I say.
"I don't hesitate when it comes to you Frankie," he says lowly looking into my eyes.
With that it seemed like my breath got caught in my throat.
I couldn't describe to you how he made me feel when he said that.
All I knew was that it made it made me feel reassured and content.
I drifted off in his eyes as I searched for something to say back.
I just couldn't find the words to say.
It seemed like Leo too, had nothing else to say.
That was until I felt his hands on my waist slowly pull me closer to him.
He leans closer, and by looking him in the eye, I see all that I needed to know.
Which is why when I felt his lips on mine, I almost immediately kissed him back.
My hands went to his hair and he pulled me closer if that was possible.
It seemed like neither of us wanted to let the other one go.
"Oh my god." A voice says.
With that, Leo and I pull away from each other immediately.
Leo turns his face to the opposite side either embarrassed or irritated that our moment was cut short.
I turn to see Dylan standing at the door with an unamused yet unfazed expression.
He breaks eye contact with me and looks away.
"Its time to come inside," he simply says.
I couldn't tell by the tone of his voice what he was thinking nor feeling.
I turn back to Leo to see him already looking at me.
"Now, Frankie," Dylan presses.
I whisper a small goodbye to Leo, who is now obviously flustered.
I walk inside the house, and Dylan comes in seconds after.
He gives me a look that I can't quite decipher, and he leaves to go upstairs.
When he's upstairs I let my self let out a small but worried laugh.
I can't believe that just happened.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
