"You look handsome grumpy, are you ready? I'm ready but I'm just a little bit nervous. Who wouldn't? Your dad's taking us out on a date." I fixed the gray bow tie he had on and made sure the cap was secured on his head.

Taking a deep breath, I stood up."Well, do you think I look okay?" I asked Grumpy, turning to look at the mirror.

I wore a fitting grey knitted turtleneck dress that reached mid thigh, pairing it with a black knee length boots, and belt to accentuate my frame.

My hair was in bun but there were loose strands that I curled. I remembered Tyrone telling me that he likes my freckles so I didn't put any foundation and left it bare. I did apply concealer though, mascara, and a lipgloss.

The talk between Jai and Peggy went well. Jai was just on his way to our house when we arrived, Neo was gagging on the car while we watched the two of them talk and hug it out on their front porch.

When we got back, Tyrone and I did a movie marathon like I promised. Before he went home, he asked me if he could take grumpy and I on a date and I obviously said yes.

A smile settled on my lips when my gaze fell on the flowers that were placed on my night stand, remembering our conversation.

"Why these?"

Tyrone smiled, brushing his fingers against the petals."It's because you gave me hope when I had none and the sunflower represent my adoration with you Zoe."

The door bell rang and I blew a breath before taking a hold of my black purse, carrying Grumpy in my arms and walking out of the room.

Neo was already standing in front of the door, Peggy next to him. I rolled my eyes when I saw Neo trying to act tough on him.

"You better take her home before 12 am young man or else there-" Neo let out a yelp from the force of my pinch.

"Don't worry dad, I'll be home before then." I sarcastically said, rolling my eyes at him.

Neo puffed his chest and was about to retort when Peggy elbowed him hard."Don't mind this wannabe dad, you guys enjoy your night." Peggy smiled, pushing me towards Tyrone.

"Thank you, I'll have her home by then sir." Tyrone smiled, playing all at Neo's act.

I tried not to facepalm before the door shut close."Neo's an idiot." I told him, making sure that Grumpy was comfortable in my hold.

Tyrone smiled, shaking his head."Nah, he's just being a good twin brother." He said, placing a hand on my back and leading us to his car.

"You look beautiful radish. Gray suits you." He compliments, turning to grumpy."And you look handsome little man." He poked his noise, earning a small bark from him.

"You looked handsome as well." I replied, letting him open the car door for me.

He looked edible with his white button up shirt that hugged his biceps and torso nicely, the color contrasting nicely on his tanned skin, his chocolate orbs twinkling with a beautiful smile on his face.

"Thank you beautiful." He replied, closing the car door.

I placed Grumpy on my lap, placing my purse at the side before pulling the seatbelt on. The heater was on and I breathed out a sigh of relief.

"So, where are we going?" I asked him, trying to guess at the direction he was driving.

Tyrone grinned."We're gonna eat dinner at one of the pet-friendly restaurants that I know and the rest will be revealed later." He answered, taking a hold of my hand and lacing it together.

I beamed."Well, I'm looking forward in stuffing my stomach with food. Right Grumpy?" He wagged his tail, making me smile.

The sight that greeted me made me gulp, it seems that Tyrone forgot to mention that we'll be dining in a pet-friendly restaurant that consists of rich people.

They wore high-end brands of dresses and suits, females drank from their cup in poise stance and a pinky held high. Rich laughter from the men can be heard as they dine with beauties.

Heck even their dogs entered the list of one of the most expensive dogs and cats. There were Afghan hounds, Chowchow, Löwchen, Bengal cats, Persian cats.

They had gold collars and wore fancy clothes, all sat poised in their chairs, even ate like humans! I tried not to gawk and tightened my hold on Tyrone's hand.

Grumpy wasn't wagging his tail and held a poker face while I carried him in my arms. I could feel the judging stares from the females, although some of the men stared at me as they drank their wine.

We were led to a fancy table, Tyrone pulling the seat for me before placing Grumpy on a high chair next to me and took his seat.

I ignored the women next to our table who gave us snobbish looks and petted their ChowChow and Löwchen.

The waiter gave us our menu and I gave him a polite smile, accepting it. He then bid his goodbye saying he'll be back within five minutes to get our order.

"You didn't tell me it's gonna be a fancy restaurant." I said lowly, covering my face with the menu sideways.

Tyrone looked up from his menu, a frown nestling on his handsome features."Why? Is something wrong?" He asks, glancing around us briefly.

I shook my head immediately, placing the menu in front of me."No, it's wonderful! I was just surprised." I honestly told him.

Despite being surrounded with snobbish people, the restaurant was actually beautiful with their white-gold theme and beautiful painting of dogs, cats, and even exotic pets.

"Are you lying?" He asks, his chocolate eyes somehow glowing in the lighting as he stared at me.

I gave him a reassuring smile, placing a hand on his."Seriously, I was just surprised carrot. Everything's fine."

It didn't just settle well with me how we looked like the odd one here and how the women next table were now ogling my fine carrot.

I turned to Grumpy who was resting his face on the table, ignoring the few dogs that glanced at him.

I bit back a smile, if grumpy doesn't let the onlookers faze him then I guess, I should too. We're all human and animals here and in a sense, that makes us equal.

The waiter came back with a notepad this time and asked us our order. I placed the menu down, seeing Tyrone glance at me.

"I'll just have roast beef tenderloin with red wine sauce, make that well done please. Our dog will have a steak and make that medium rare and just water for our drinks." I smiled politely at the waiter, waiting for him to finish writing it.

"I'll have what she's having and give us two glasses of Shirley temple." He handing our menus to waiter, offering him a brief smile.

"Shirley Temple? I peg you as a bourbon type of guy." I snorted, amusement flaring in me.

He flashed me smirk."There's still a part two and I'm driving. I don't want to drink and you become drunk."

"That's mean! I can handle my alcohol tolerance well." I defended, placing a hand on grumpy's and gave him a back rub.

Tyrone fiddled with my fingers, his smirk widening."Yeah, like how you assumed the floor wants to marry Eliki?" He teased, making my cheeks flare.

"That was after a set of tequila shots, gin and tonic, I think we even drank some beer." I grimaced, remembering my hangover the next day.

"Remember how you fainted because you stepped on a broken glass?" He chuckled, raising my knuckles to his lips and pressed a soft kiss on it.

I rolled my eyes, biting the inside of my cheek."I hate the sight of blood, it makes me squeamish." I defended, digging a nail on his finger.

"I know but it was funny how you complimented my ears. That was adorable of you." Tyrone pointed out, making me a throw a glare at his reminiscing.

"Stop it, you're making my cheeks turn red." I grumbled, trying to pull my hand on his but failed.

He laughed softly, the corners of his crinkling at the action."Okay, no more teasing beautiful. How about 10 questions?"

I huffed but a smile settled on my lips nonetheless."Fine but no skipping of questions."

He bob his head."Okay. What's your favorite song?"

"You belong with me by Taylor Swift." I answered."What's your favorite movie?"

"It's probably gonna be World War Z." He placed his chin on his hand, the other one not letting go of my own."Who's your crush?" He cheekily asked.

I let out a small giggle at this, shaking my head at his antics."It's Tyrone Adler but don't tell him that. What about yours?"

A radiant smile graced his lips."It's Zoe Smith but you could totally tell her that." He winked, earning a soft laugh from me.

The rest of the dinner flew by and my nerves completely eased, melting away like it wasn't even there.

I guess when you're with the right person, everything that makes you anxious just disappears and the fact that he's holding my hand gave me a certain reassurance.

It wasn't until Tyrone had to go for the restroom did shit truly went down.

"Look at that sheriff's son hanging with an ugly rat like her." The blonde woman said, no she practically said it loudly so that I would hear it.

Laughter erupted in their table and I ignored them, mot caring about their opinions about. Instead I turned to Grumpy and smile, giving his ears a rub.

He was now sleepily staring at me, clearly enjoying the rub. Grumpy gets really sleepy after he eats and just loves to have this kind of rubs after.

"Look at that ugly dog, the rolls on his face and body are unpleasant to stare at." The woman said loudly once again, the woman murmuring their agreement and laughing.

I felt my temper rise, all civil acts throwing out of the window. I stood up, throwing the cloth on my lap at the plate.

Their expressions turned even more daring as I walked to them, their nose held high and chin raising.

"Excuse me, yes, good evening ladies." I smiled, standing in front of them."I think you should go easy on the wine, its throwing your rational thoughts away and that leaves you all spewing bullshit that are not to be taken lightly."

The blonde woman gasp, standing up."How dare you, we were just stating the truth. You don't deserve to be in our presence and especially with your ugly fat dog." She exclaims, earning some attention.

The rage that entered my system was unexplainable and I find myself taking a hold of her champagne glass and throwing the contents at her face.

"You can insult me but don't you dare insult my dog. He may not be like one of your expensive breed but that does not give you a right to discriminate him for how he looks." I spat, glaring at them.

The woman gasped, pushing her wet hair away."How dare you!" She raised a hand to slap but a hand caught it before it could hit me.

Tyrone stood in between us, his lips in a straight line."You have no right to hit her when all she did was state facts against your false accusations." He coldly said and I knew from the way he clenched his jaw that he was mad.

The woman pulled her hand, muttering about how she'll sue us. The manager came in and Tyrone quickly explained the situation while I walked up to Grumpy, pulling him in my arms.

"I think you should leave." The manager said to us and I couldn't help but gasp at this.

What the fuck is wrong with this people? It's clear that this woman is in the fault. The disappointment that entered in me was so intense that I only felt pity at them.

"Let's go Tyrone, they're not worth it." I commented, glaring at the manager.

Tyrone threw in a some random dollars and walked away, placing his arm around me. I ignored the looks and held my head up high.

By the time we were out, I couldn't help but feel guilty. I ruined date night but I didn't regret it, nobody insults my baby.

I quickly placed a kiss on grumpy's head, feeling him lick me on my hand as if saying 'thank you'.

We quickly got in the car and I waited for him to get inside. When he did, I quickly placed an arm on his hand.

"I'm sorry for ruining date night." I said, making him shook his head.

"What? No you didn't ruin it. I'm proud of you for standing up to people like them." He leaned in and swoop a kiss, a smile forming on my lips.

"You wanna go skinny dipping?" He jokes, making me smack him on the arm.

"You're ruining the serenity of the beach." I grumbled, listening in to the sound of waves.

I dug my feet harder into the sand, loving the way it felt on my skin. The beach was calm and serene tonight, the waves crashing in were gentle.

The water reflected the reflection of the full moon that graced us tonight and I couldn't help but wonder if somewhere along the world, there was a wolf that stood beneath it and howling into the night.

"Do you think werewolves are real?" I found myself asking Tyrone, turning to him.

I expected him to laugh or look at me like I was crazy for bringing that up but instead, he paused seeming to think about.

"I'm not sure, I mean myths have to be true at some point right?" He shrugged, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear.

"I guess you're right, I'm sorry that was a random thing for me to ask." I giggled, glancing at Grumpy who came back panting and was dragging the stick that Tyrone threw back earlier.

Wattpad seriously makes me a little cray cray sometimes.

"Good job Grumpy, now catch!" I threw it back, making him yelp and run up to it.

"No, don't ever be sorry for that radish. You can talk to me anything you want, may it be a random thought or something that bothers you." He said, his chocolate orbs clashing unto my hazel ones.

"If you say so." I smiled then he stood up and offered his hand to me.

"Will you dance with me Zoe Smith?" He asks, a shy smile on his lips.

I took his hand, giggling."But we don't have any song playing." That earned a sneaky smile from him.

"I can work on that." He said, doing a small bow at me like one of those prince.

I held my imaginary dress up and doing a small curtsy. He then placed a kiss on my hands before placing both of it on his shoulders.

I smiled, feeling him loop an arm around my waist enclosing me in his warmth and masculine scent that I love so much.

We started swaying and I couldn't help but rest my head on his chest before I heard it, his heart beating erratically.

Just like mine.

He started humming a song while he swayed and it reminded me of the time when he sang a song to ease my attacks.

We had to stop a few times to throw the stick again for Grumpy, it didn't bother us though and only made us laugh.

I didn't know how long we dance, basking in the embrace of one another but the beautiful lit moon

"Are you ready for the dip radish?" He asks, his chin resting on top of my head as we swayed.

I pulled back slightly, smiling up to him."Ready as I'll ever be carrot."

He grinned before pulling back, taking a hold on one of my hand and twirling me slowly. He then stepped forward and with his strong arms enclosing me, dipped me slowly.

Chocolates eyes clashed unto my hazel-grey ones and I could feel him suck in a sharp breath while I smiled softly.

Tyrone pressed a kiss on my nose before a radiant smile graced his face that made him look even more handsome.

"Will you give me the honor of becoming your boyfriend Zoe Smith? I promise to treasure you with everything in me."
