《The Puppy Project》34| A Secret Piece Of Him

Carrot has been MIA for the rest of the week.
All my messages were delivered zone and even my calls were sent to voicemail. I wasn't sure if he was ignoring me or he's just being an absolute asshole and ignoring me.
Jax and Chica knows something but it seems carrot was one step ahead of me from the way they kept their mouth tight lipped whenever I tried to ask.
I couldn't hold that against them though, I respect them from being a good friend to Tyrone and they're just doing what he wished them to do.
I'm so gonna cut off his balls and feed it to grumpy when I see him.
I'm almost tempted to give him a visit at his house but the thought of meeting his dad made me back the frick up at that idea.
Yeah, no way.
After the talk with Aron, he made me promise not to tell Tyrone yet. This obviously had me suspicious until he explained something to me.
"And why the hell not? He has to know this." I said, disagreeing with him.
"Tyrone hates me and everything that I told you would fall to deaf to his ears. He would turn me in the very instant I came close to him." He explained, his voice calm.
"He would believe you because we'll turn your dad to the cops and tell them the truth." I reasoned out, feeling quite frustrated.
Deep down, I knew Aron was right. Tyrone hated him and he would've probably beat the shit out of him first before bringing him to the cops.
Aron shook his head at me."That doesn't work that way Zoe. The cops need evidence before they could get a warrant on him and right now, they have none and my words aren't strong enough to pull it off too." He said, leaning back against the couch.
"Then how the hell are we going to gather evidence? I could bet on my big toe that your dad is covering every evidence that could lead to him right now." I said, resting my hand against my chin.
"We? No, the only one that could pull this off is me. I'm not letting you get involve in this, its too dangerous." Aron replied, his tone serious.
"Are you saying that because I'm a woman?" I snapped, glaring at him.
Aron didn't even seemed faze at my outburst and nodded."Yes and if they catch you, hell wouldn't even be the word to describe what you'll go through."
"How would I know that this isn't a trap for me then? What if this is both your plan?" I shot back, tightening my hold on the pan.
Aron threw me something and I caught it, the pan falling to the floor with a bang. It was my phone and when I flipped it around, the microphone was on and our conversation was being recorded.
I glanced at him with wide eyes."How did y-my phone had a password!" I exclaimed.
Aron rolled his eyes."Six zeros aren't exactly a good password to start off with Zoe. You should change that,"
A scowl sprawled on my lips and he let out a sigh."Give me a week Zoe, I'll gather the evidences and turn myself in and put my dad in jail." He promised, his voice not wavering.
"And if you don't?"

He smiled."Then it means I'm dead and you'll turn that recording to the police."
It's been two days since I last seen Aron and I couldn't help but grow worried. My phone felt heavy with the recording and I had it save in my laptop and USB just in case something goes wrong.
I didn't tell anyone about Aron, not even Eliki and shit, I can't believe I'm saying this when ww aren't even together but the only thing that I could do right now is take a leap of faith with Aron.
This still made me guilty because I'm not being a good friend to Tyrone by doing this but its the only way that we could get Aron's Dad, the true culprit, to pay for his crimes.
Don't worry, I already came up with three alternative ways on making it up to him. One, Apologize to him. Two, Write an apology letter. Three. Annoy the fuck out of him until he accepts my apology.
Hopefully the first one works.
It was last period and today, I had free period which means I could go home early. I was about to turn into a corner when I overheard a conversation.
"Shit man, last night fight was the fucking bomb! You should've seen the way Tyrone pummeled that guy."
Did he mention Tyrone and a fight? I paused before shrugging, he wasn't probably referring to Tyrone Adler.
"The easy cash that flows in just because I betted on is unbelievable man. By the end of this week, I'll be a rich man because of Tyrone Adler."
I stopped dead in my tracks, hold my freaking bag up. THEY WERE INDEED REFERRING TO CARROT! The voices weren't familiar and I knew if I turned that corner then their conversation would cut short.
Like an FBI Agent, I quickly pushed my body against the wall before slowly itching at the edge and listened in.
"Yeah, this time of the month usually brings us easy money. I'll go watch later and it'll be my turn to brag tomorrow you fuckers," My mouth formed into an 'O' at sound of Jett's voice.
Yes, Jett. You know the guy who tried to hook up with me and ended up with me having a bruise on my back and Tyrone wanting to pummel him but I made him promise but it had a loophole and it ended up wi-yeah, you get my point.
What the hell is going on? Tyrone is making them rich? He's really gonna get it when I see him! How could he make them rich and not us, his actual friends?!
"You gonna go after class J? It's an hour drive but worth it though," The first guy said.
I assumed that Jett nodded from the silence that rang in the air for a few seconds and when the warning bell rang, I quickly turned the corner.
They weren't that far from the corner where I was in, Jett was leaning against the locker while the other two stood in front of him.
At the sight of me, the first guy suddenly let out a fake laugh startling the other two."Yeah and then this girl totally tried to hook up with me but I was like no way." He said.
Jett and the other guy seemed to caught, voicing out their replies. I passed by them and I heard the first guy let out a sigh of relief thinking that I haven't heard their actual conversation.

I mentally snickered, you got it all wrong buddy but its a B+ for an effort though. I caught Jett's eyes when I passed by and I knew right then what I was going to do.
"How the hell did you get into my car?" Jett turned to me, his eyes widening when he saw me sitting like a bad bitch on his passenger seat.
I smirked, looking up from my phone."Hm, I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you." I joked.
"Oooh! I always wanted to say that!" I added, letting out a small giggle.
Jett looked at me with a deadpanned look."Why exactly are you here in my car Zoe?"
I shrugged."Oh you know, I just saw your car and I was like dang I need to experience riding that and then now, I'm going to where you're going! Yey!" I exclaimed, raising my hands up in excitement.
That part was kinda true because when I first saw his car; it was indeed sick, it was a ford mustang that had matte grey color and like you know, girls love hot cars and I wasn't an exception to that.
Jett sighed, leaned back in his seat."You overheard our conversation." He stated, turning to look at me.
"I can neither confirm nor deny." I replied, tying my hair in a messy bun. I couldn't help but grow annoyed at my baby hairs.
We all have that one strand of hair that's just as stubborn as we are and wouldn't damn cooperate no matter what hair products we use.
Yep but almost all of my hair is like that and the struggle is one hundred times worse.
"Well shit. Tyrone's gonna kill us all," He muttered, pressing the key into the ignition.
The car let out a soft purr, Jett looked problematic and I couldn't help but bite the inside of my cheek.
I turned my body slight in his way, the seatbelt digging on my chest at the action."Tell me everything you know Jett." I demanded before I paused."Please." I added, my manners getting the best of me.
What did he mean that Tyrone fights? A thought settled into my mind and I felt my stomach twist at the possibility of it.
Jett glanced at me, backing away from the parking lot and driving out of school. A few beats of silence settled on us and I couldn't help but fidget.
"Tyrone hasn't told you anything," He stated.
"We wouldn't be having this conversation, now would we Jett?" I rolled my eyes, staring at the window instead.
The fact that he's ignoring me reminded me of how it felt the first time around, was I annoying him? Did I do something wrong?
And here I thought I was actually having progress with him and then he pulls this kind of shit.
"Alright, I'll tell you. Damn cherry, don't get your panties in a twist." Jett mused out, humor lit in his tone.
I glared at him."Do not bring my underwear into this Jett or I'll smack you hard."
"Oh kinky, your hair definitely suits you cherry." Jett winked at me, my cheeks heating up.
I slapped him on the arm and let out a surprised scream when the car suddenly swerved hard.
"Jett! We could've gotten killed." I exclaimed, his boisterous laughter filling the car.
"Calm down Cherry, I was just trying to lighten up the mood." He chuckled, one of his hand switching gears.
I placed a hand on my erratic heart."Yeah, my whole world almost went white you son of a bridge." I breathed out.
"Now that those dark clouds are out of you head, let's start the Tyrone talk cherry?" He offered, glancing at me briefly.
A smile slipped into my lips."Let's." I replied, making him grin.
"Last week was the start of the rimborsi," Jett said, eyeing the car that drove past us.
My brows knitted in confusion."Ribs what?"
"Rimborsi cherry." He repeated slowly."Its means redemption in english."
I nodded slowly."And how is this connected to Tyrone?" I asked, staring at him.
"A fight for redemption cherry, this rimborsi is what it stands for. It's a week full of underground fighting between fighters from across different towns." He explained, my heart dropping at what he said.
A fight for redemption. You should've seen Tyrone pummeled that guy last night. A week of underground fighting. By the end of this week, I'm gonna be a rich man.
I let out a small gasp, my eyes widening."You mean, Tyrone is one of those fighters participating i-in that rimborsi?" I asked, the words stammering out.
Jett nodded."He is and a hella good one at that. He's been the undefeated champion for three years in a row and four, if he wins this time." He said, stopping at a red light.
From the direction of where we were driving, I knew we were going next town and it seems that its where these fights are held.
I gulped, suddenly feeling nervous. I'm gonna watch his fight and see how he fights. This is a secret piece of him that he didn't want me to know.
"You mean to tell me that all those faint bruises we've been seeing is because he street fights?" I wondered out, my head not seeming be able to wrap around it.
"Yes, only the guys in school know about this but kept tight lipped about it. Tyrone made it clear that he didn't want anyone from school talking about it." Jett nodded, pushing some of his back.
In the last three years, there were months where Tyrone would go to school with faint bruises, nasty black eyes, and even busted knuckles.
The teachers turned blind eye to it and didn't comment on it. I looked down, somehow feeling overwhelmed of the information I just found out.
"Are you okay cherry?" Jett threw me a concerned look, noticing my sudden silence.
"I'm absolutely okay Jett! Super okay! I mean why wouldn't I be? It's not like I just found out that Tyrone's an illegal fighter and I'm gonna see him 'pummel' some guy and I don't know if I have enough money to bet on him. You bet on these fights right? How much are you going to bet?" I rambled, taking a deep breath after.
"I'm sensing a mental breakdown cherry," Jett said, throwing me a weary glance.
I bit my lip."I think we need to do a pit stop Jett."
"Yeah, I think we should cherry."
