💙Zoe's P.O.V
"What did the cow say when it got kicked by a dog?" I asked, stiffling the laugh that was threatening to burst out of me.
Eliki gave me a look that could kill.
The wednesday sun shone brightly above us. It was lunch time and we were sitting at our usual spot, under the big oak tree.
The bruise on my back became a disgusting dark shade, contrasting against my pale and freckled back.
It didn't hurt that bad though, so I could bare with it and the use of ice pack really helped reduce its swelling.
I haven't seen him since yesterday until earlier morning. We had free period in homeroom since we were given a task to answer another questionnaire.
"I'm not answering that," Eliki deadpanned, shaking her head.
"Oh come on! It's so funny that you'd laugh! Promise!" I let on, grasping her elbow playfully.
"Z, you'd been saying that for the last fifteen minutes." Eli said, giving me a blank look.
"It's not my fault you don't get it." I grumbled, pouting.
"Really Zoe? Your jokes are so lame even my grandma could do better than you." Eliki said, a playful smile on her lips.
"You did not just go there," I faked gasped, laying a hand on my chest.
Elikie smirked,"Bitch I just did." She snapped her fingers in a Z motion making me pout.
She bursted out laughing, while I just continued to pout and munch on my chocolate bar.
"Why the pout babe?" I look up and was surprised to see Chica and Jax standing with trays of food in their hands.
Eliki ushered them to take a seat, settling down their food in front of them. Chica pushed her short hair back before grinning.
She turned to me,"Now, why were you pouting?" Chica wondered out.
"Oh ship, don't even ask her." Eliki said, a horrified look on her face.
A wide smile grew on my lips. Chica and Jax both look at each other noticing my expression and shrugged.
"What did the cow say when it got kicked by a dog?" I once again asked, my expression probably showing my eagerness for their answer.
"How can the dog even kick the cow when they aren't even the same height?" A male voice piped in, ruining my joke.
I glared at Tyrone's blank face. He stood infront of us, carrying two apples and proceeded to sit next to me.
They all bursted out laughing at the downfall of my joke.
"I wasn't asking you," I bit out, munching angrily.
Tyrone gave me an amused look,"Ask me then," He said, taking a bite from his apple.
I rolled my eyes,"Where were you yesterday? You seemed to disappear after homeroom." I asked, changing the topic.
"Stalking me?" He lightly grinned, his pearly white teeth showing teasingly between his lips.
I gave him a blank stare.
He chuckled at my expression,"That's for you to wonder and for me to keep." He replied instead, clearly not wanting to talk about it.
I shook my head amusedly, continuing to eat my food. I was about to take a sip of my orange juice when I saw his amused expression.

"Don't even go there," I warned, knowing what exactly he was thinking.
At that, he bursted out laughing. I noticed Chica, Eliki, and Jax giving us secretive smiles before continuing on what they were talking about.
"Stop it," I hissed, growing annoyed.
"Orange juice doesn't suit you," He commented, referring to time he dumped his juice on me.
I groaned playfully pushing his shoulders, before moving backward to lean on the tree completely forgeting my bruise and winced when I accidentally pressed unto it with a little force.
The expression on his face wiped off, replaced by a serious look.
"Does it still hurt?" He asked quietly, looking at me.
I glanced at Eliki scared that she might hear. Eliki didn't know about the incident because I knew she'd throw a fit and would surely cause damage despite my pleading.
"It isn't that bad. A few more days and it'll be gone like it wasn't even there." I replied, a warm smile gracing my lips to offer reassurance.
Clearly it didn't working considering how Tyrone's lips set into a thin line. The deadly look back on his face and I rolled my eyes, snapping my fingers infront of him.
"Your promise, remember?" I trailed off, giving him a pointed look.
He looked at me with a thoughtful look, nodding slowly before looking away.
I couldn't help but feel suspicious. I was about to say something when the bell rang ruining my chance to investigate further.
He quickly stood up,"I'll go get Grumpy at Mr. John, you have the questionnaire right?" He asked, his eyes meeting mine.
Mr. John had each partner bring him their dog since he, himself, wanted to make sure that they were indeed taken care off.
"Yes, it's here in my bag." I answered, proceeding to take it out.
He nodded before walking away but not before taking my trash with his and throwing it in the nearest trash bin.
I shouted a 'thank you' at him earning his infamous stares in reply that had me grinning in my position.
"I'll get going guys. Sam and I are also meeting up for TPP. Talk you later ginger!" Eliki bid us goodbye before rushing back inside the school.
Jax stood up, offering a hand to Chica and helped her up. She patted her pants, making sure there was no dirt on it.
"We better get going or else we'd be late. Our Chemisty teacher seriously acts like there is something up her ass." Chica said, rolling her eyes in annoyance.
Jax chuckled softly, shaking his head. They both bid me goodbye before they walked away, talking about something that I didn't quite catch on.
I couldn't help but notice how good they looked together. Chica was saying something and Jax was watching her, a genuine smile on his face and nodded a few times as he listened to what she is saying.
Jax said something to Chica which made her pushed him playfully and the last thing I see was Jax laughing before they entered inside the school premises.
There was definitely something going on between them. I leaned back in the trunk comfortably, eyes closed.
It didn't know how many minutes passed before something heavy and warm was placed on my lap.

Cracking an eyes, Grumpy peered at to me with a bored look. Tyrone holding the end of his leash.
"Grumpy! I missed youuu baby!" I squealed, cuddling him into my arms.
He didn't wag his tail nor look at me with shining eyes. He actually looked annoyed, which I ignored and continued to hug him to my chest.
He's been staying a whole week at Tyrone's this time and had been going back and forth between us.
Tyrone took a seat next to me,"It's only been a few days." He addressed, looking at grumpy.
I rolled my eyes."A few days felt like a month to me. I'm his mom, I'm bound to have separation issues with him."
Tyrone rolled his eyes, taking a seat next to me."He's a boy and he's bound to be a daddy's boy." Tyrone smirked, his eyes glittering with amusement.
"Psh, yeah right. Just because he's a boy doesn't mean you'll be in his favor." I deadpanned, patting grumpy's back.
Tyrone's eyes twinkled gorgeously,"Oh yeah? Want me to prove that out?" He let on, raising a daring brow.
Damn it.
He's making me jealous with that damn thick brows of his.
I grinned challengingly,"Be my guest. See if he'll even move an inch." I pointed to grumpy who was now sleeping peacefully on my lap.
He laid back on the tree, resting his hand behind his head. The muscles tightened deliciously on his arms making me gulped.
"Grumpy, come here boy." He said, closing his eyes.
A few seconds pass and grumpy didn't move. I was about to smile smugly at him when grumpy stood up from my lap, shaking his head before climbing unto Tyrone's lap and once again, continued sleeping.
My left eye twitch.
"I would've said I told you so but that would be cliche as fuck." He smugly smiled, patting his hand unto grumpy's back mockingly.
I felt myself slump on the tree and pouted quietly. My shoulders sagging in defeat meaning Tyrone won this round.
"What's the first question?" Tyrone asked, snatching the questionnaire out of my hand.
Tyrone's brow furrowed, a clear sign that he was focused.
I honestly couldn't help but admire the view. The sunlight kinda gave him a halo effect and even in this angle, Tyrone still manages to look breathtakingly handsome.
I wasn't surprised when he turned to me. I knew he could feel my stare and instead of taking my eyes off him and shyly cower away, I stared bodly at him as he stared back at me.
Honey eyes clashing unto my hazel-gray eyes.
I felt all the noise around me suddenly quiet down. My eyes couldn't focus on anything rather than him and his eyes.
I was snapped out of it when suddenly the sound of peeing was he-what?
We both turned around to see grumpy peeing on my bag that was perched a few inches away from right leg.
I gasped in surprise, "Grumpy! What the hell!" I stood up hastily, trying to shoo him.
Instead of running off like some dogs would do. He stared back at me, a bored expression on his face as he continued to pee . . . on my bag.
"Grumpy!" Tyrone snapped, easily catching his attention and almost immediately, he stopped peeing.
"What did I tell you about peeing on stuff that aren't supposed to be peed on?" He scolded, pointing an accusing finger at Grumpy.
I was expecting to see grumpy look at hin with a bored expression but was surprised once again, to see grumpy flatten his ears and look down guiltily.
I gaped at the both of them. I couldn't stop my mouth from hanging open at the fact that grumpy showed some expression.
I mean, we bonded for two weeks straight and the clue that he was happy to be with me was the way he cuddled to my side at night.
Tyrone glanced at me,"Don't do that. You wouldn't want a fly entering from your mouth right?" Tyrone coyly said, eyes amused.
I shut them closed, my eyes glaring slightly at him. He turned back to grumpy who still looked down guiltily, not once moving from his position.
Tyrone sighed and I could see him softening up the longer he looked at Grumpy.
"Come here," Tyrone said softly, patting his lap.
Grumpy perked up, looking at Tyrone before he looked down once again. He hesitantly made his way to Tyrone with a guilty whimper.
I couldn't help but be awe of the sight. Tyrone looked so cute holding grumpy in his arms.
I took a hold of my bag to check it and thankfully, it wasn't that wet, only on the side.
There weren't any notes there except the questionaire and some essentials like perfume and wipes.
I looked back at Tyrone and grumpy that was perched on his lap. Tyrone's head was bent down, his eyes staring back at grumpy as he scolded him in hush tone.
"Don't do it again okay?" Tyrone said, his eyes full of warning and pointing a forefinger at grumpy.
Grumpy looked up before licking Tyrone's finger. Tyrone lip twisted into a small smile before he petted his head earning a purr from grumpy.
That earned a smile from me. Who knew the blank faced carrot could have a soft spot for puppies?
I wonder if he's just as good with kids?
That would've probably be a sight.
Wouldn't you like to know, my subconscious teasingly said.
Shut up subconscious.
Thankfully it listened.
Tyrone glanced at me briefly before turning back to Grumpy and bending to say something to him.
I raised a brow, wondering what he could possibly say to a dog.
Imagine my surprise when Grumpy made its way back to me, stopping at my side before licking my elbow and looking at me.
I held back the grin that was trying to form on my lips and instead bit my lip. I immediately pulled him to me, scratching his belly which made him relax.
"You're forgiven buddy, just next time pee on your dad's foot instead okay?" I joked, moving my hand to scratch the back of his ears.
I heard a loud 'hey' from Tyrone that made me laugh but what surprised me the most was when I saw the slightest wag of grumpy's tail.
And this time, I didn't stop the grin that formed on my lips.
