AMELIA'S P.O.V
My head was in a mess. I couldn't comprehend what was happening around me. It seems like my life is a constant ticking bomb and would explode any minute.
My head was just revolving around Alarick and myself. I never thought where this life could bring us to. We were on the verge of falling from a cliff, right into a pit of darkness. One wrong step and poof.
But this time, I wanted to be selfish. I wanted to forget about this world, just this once and do something for us. Us. Alarick was a mystery to me. He was a closed book whereas I was an open book. He had taken interest in me and had me torn apart just to read me. But whenever I took a step towards his life, he took two steps back. He shows so much affection that it sometimes overwhelms me. If you bombard a person who had been beaten and used all their life with such a great amount of care, how can they be normal?
But that wouldn't stop me from reaching out to him. I have to lure him into my world and teach him what real life is. What does it feel like to love and to be loved. I need to show him the way he showed me life is not all nightmares and pain. Life is beautiful.
I must apologize for what I did back then. Maybe he is still furious that I lost him his deal. But the way he treats me as if I am the only woman in this world, I am far off thinking about him planning some revenge on me. He has gained 10 times better what he had back then, nonetheless.
I walked around the hall. People were leaving now. Only few were left. The lights had dimmed and it was much darker. We were staying at the same hotel for the night as we had flight back to New York in the morning.
My right eye twitched as I tapped my foot on the hard wood floor. My granny used to say when your right eye twitches, it means something good is going to happen and if left eye twitches then something bad would happen. It was just superstitious for me. I never believed in it. But whenever my eyes twitches, this thought always comes to my mind.
"Ciao, bella." I flinched and turned around. Alarick was standing in front of me. I brought my hand over my chest.
"You scared me there." I chuckled awkwardly.
"Sorry." He said scratching the back of his head.
Ciao?
"Hey, wait." I stood up placing my hands on my hips, a brow arched, "You just spoke Italian, didn't you?"

He grinned flashing those bright set of pearls.
"But you are Russian, no?" I was so confused, "What the hell! What are you? Italian? Russian? Or Chinese?! Well you don't look like Chinese. They're cute-"
"My mother was an Italian but my father was Russian so I can speak both languages."
"So you're....er...Rutalian?"
A loud chuckle escaped his mouth. The deep intoxicating chuckle. Hitting right to my core. He is so...sexy.
"I know, Rose." A smirk played on his lips.
"What?"
"You just said I am sexy, now didn't you." He inched closer.
Shit.
"Uh...I think you misheard. I said...you're sassy...sassy not sexy. Yeah sas-"
I was cut off by him grabbing my waist and pulling me towards him. I was going to protest but when his lips landed on mine, all of my protests went out of the window. My arms went around his neck and I leaned into him, deepening the kiss. His mouth worked wonder. He entered my mouth, swirling his tongue around my mouth exploring the places which no one had ever thought of. His hands tighten on my waist and he pulled away, panting hard.
"I needed this." He said, his eyes darkening by the moment. A mischievous smile crept on my lips.
"I need more." With that I pressed my lips on his again. He smiled between the kiss and returned it.
I was so drowned in the sea of emotions that I didn't felt the presence behind me. Someone cleared their throat and the sudden voice made me pull back and push Alarick a little.
I turned around and my eyes widen a little when I saw the least expected person in front of us.
"Phoebe." Alarick stiffened behind me and I felt his hand snaking around my waist. He stood behind me pulling me back towards his chest
"Alarick." She breathed out, her voice strained. Her blonde locks were freely dangling down along her waist. Her ocean blue eyes sparkled even in the dimmed lights. Her face was free of any marks. The beautiful red gown hugged her at all the right places not making her belly look vulgar in anyway. She was pretty. No doubt.
"What are you doing here?" His tone came out harsh. My eyes were trained right on Phoebe. She is the one.
"I...You didn't come to see me. I was a bit late but when I arrived, ceremony was almost over. I was looking for you." She said. My eyes travelled down at her belly. It seems like she is a month or two away from being a mother. Instantly a smile crept on my lips but I quickly hid it when I remembered who she was. Phoebe Richard. The woman who bailed my father out. Now is not the time to admire pregnant women.

"We are going back together right? Back to New York?" She asked fiddling with her fingers.
Alarick nodded and I scowled. She's coming with us?
"You're Phoebe Richard, aren't you?" I asked placing my hand on Alarick's. He looked at me confused. I hadn't told him about Phoebe bailing my father out. He was already hiding something from me and I just wanted him to open up. But this girl. She looks so innocent. She is faking it. Yes fake little bìtch.
"Yes." Her voice came out confident. For a moment, I saw arrogance and hatred on that face but it was quickly masked by her innocence. Oh this is one fake nut.
"You bailed my father out, didn't you?" I was fuming with anger. All I saw was red. The girl who freed my father to make my life a living hell again, was standing right in front of me. I couldn't help my words, "Do you owe him something or you are just one of his whores?" I snapped and instantly I was pulled back by Alarick. His grip tightened on my waist and he turned to face me.
"What the hell is going on?" He was irritated.
"She is the one. She bailed Owen out. She is reponsible for all this shit. I'll kill her." I was going to snap her neck but before I could take a step forward, I was hauled back into a hard chest.
"Alarick! Let me go. I need answers!" I snapped but he ignored me.
"Phoebe get back to the hotel. I won't say it twice." He stated staring at me angrily. I returned back the stare. I saw Phoebe walking towards the front door through my peripheral vision but kept my eyes trained on Alarick.
Now there was no one except me and Alarick and he looked as angry as the day I did my artwork on his face in his sleeping state.
"Now. You," he began, "You will not utter a word about this until we get back home." And then he practically started dragging me outside the hall.
"Alarick, Stop. Why are you so angry? I did what I should've done. I needed answers which only she knows!" I tried to reason for God knows what reason but he didn't listen.
By that time we had reached his car.
"Why don't you talk about it?" I asked ignoring there was driver inside the car.
He opened the door for me, giving me a deathly glare which I returned back.
"I am too pissed off to function." I could see his nostrils flaring.
"Are you pissed off at me? Huh?" I asked placing my hand on the opened door for steadying myself.
"No."
"Phoebe?" I asked but he didn't answer. I was getting annoyed by his sudden mood swings. One moment he's so soft and loving and the other moment his is like this hot volcano.
"If you don't want to talk, then its fine with me. Because this time you're wrong, not me. You're the one who keeps holding things back from me. You never told me about Phoebe living with you. You were never going to. Alarick, whatever is going between us is not playing around and I know that you know it well too. I deserve to know your secrets. To know whatever is going on in that head. Don't you trust me enough? Who's she huh? Why are you so possessive about her? Is she your ex lover?" Tears were pricking the corners of my eyes. My heart skipped a beat, "That...That baby is yours. She's carrying your baby? Alarick how could you?! Please say something!"
His forehead creased in confusion and then back to anger, "You're now loading things Amelia. I never said that. Its not mine and I am not pissed at you or Phoebe. I don't want to talk about this right now. Get in the car."
He reached out but I swatted his arms away, "No, you're lying. You always lie. I am standing right here. I am not going anywhere. You just tell me the truth." I folded arms over my chest waiting for his reply, "Please talk to me."
"Amelia, look at me," he held my chin, his face expressions not changing a bit, "we will talk about this when we get home. Now get in the car because I am already done. Don't aggravate me." He stated closing his eyes in annoyance.
I took in a sharp breath and slipped inside the car moving to the far end.
Alarick followed behind me. We didn't talk the whole ride and as soon as the car stopped, I sprinted out of the car walking straight to my room despite his calls behind me and slammed my door shut releasing a pinch of my anger on the door.
I needed some time for myself. I didn't care what Phoebe was to him. The only thing I cared about was trust. I trusted him. He said the baby's not his. I will never question that again because I trust him more than my life but what about him? Did he trust me? Because our previous talk clearly justified that Alarick didn't trust me enough.
And that hurts as hell.
