AMELIA'S POV
I gasped as the name left Regina's lips. All the jumbled up pieces were now fitting in all the right places.
Mr. Knight.
Alarick Knight.
I can't believe it's him. I know, sometimes life is so complicated and then there are coincidences, which happen now and then but this is not just a coincidence. Its a miracle. I can't believe that I am sitting with him. The man, I wanted to see so desperately. Exculding the fact that he's a little creepy, he's always invigorated me. The things I've heard about him and everything else. No doubt, he can be a role model. Of course, he is such a successful man at this young age. Goals man, goals.
They say, first impression makes the the last one and our first impression on each other, when we met a few days ago, wasn't very convincing but that would matter of I believed in what people say. I have a zero belief in 'first impression makes the last one'. I think people have a lot in them. First meeting can just potray the upper few characters of their personality. You can't judge a person just by meeting them once. It can be true that the girl who puked in front of the class on her first day had some really bad sushi in the supper and that made her puke, not because she was a nervous wreck. The man who didn't reply back to your greetings was because he didn't listen, not because he's rude.
"It's all good." The deep voice startled me, bringing me out of my small world of confusion.
I can't believe, he is the same man who used to watch me through the window and once waved me back, when I waved at him. Its just that my mind is not able to imagine his face on that man. He had an entirely different demeanor in my mind.

My eyes suddenly landed on him and I studied his features as he smiled genuinely at Regina. He must've sensed the tension as he glanced at me, and out of nowhere, I was shivering under his gaze. He furrowed his brows at me and looked away shaking his head. I don't know what's happening to me?! I'm not this type of a girl, I am not shy. I am a slut.
Whore.
My heart sank on my thoughts and I felt my sight blurring. I quickly looked down before anyone could notice. I looked up again and saw Alarick still staring at me.
"Uh...Excuse me, Regina where's bathroom?" I asked Regina awkwardly as I stood up.
"It's upstairs. The room beside the study."
"Okay, I'll be right back." I said as I left the dining room.
I quickly ascended the stairs and reached the room, which Regina told me to use. I felt a tad bit comfortable after closing the door behind me. Taking deep rough breaths, I looked around the massive room. The grey walls with brown furniture looked all new. The wooden floors creaked under my dusty shoes as I made my way to the bathroom door.
After doing my business, I walked out. Looking in the foot length mirror fixed along the wall, I straightened my sundress. Suddenly, I was feeling so concious about my appearance. I neared the mirror and wiped the gloss smudge on the corner of my mouth. I patted my unruly hair to make them look a little less frizzy. I can't believe I am having a bad hair day, right now. Why today?!
I patted my hair a little more which didn't help at all. I looked around for some gel but the room was empty. I let out a frustrated sigh and left the room.

As I kept walking towards the staircase, I felt presence behind me. I remembered all the horror movies I've been watching for a few weeks. Chuckling a bit, I tried to make an alarmed face as if I was in a movie. I took a few more steps and stopped again.
But before I could sense what was happening, I was pushed into the wall with an angry Alarick holding my wrists beside me.
Now, that doesn't happen in horror movies. No wait, it does. That creepy guy always comes for you.
"What are you doing?!" I squealed.
"You remember me, don't you?" He asked as he closed the distance so our chest was touching.
He wasn't glaring nor he looked angry. He was just studying my face, looking for something.
"Let me go!" I struggled in his grip.
"Why were you crying?" he asked firmly. I couldn't fathom the proximity in which we were standing in someone else's house.
"It's none of your business!" I seethed.
His grip on my wrists tightened.
"Watch your tone!"
"I will use whatever the tone I like! You're no one to order me around!" I jerked my hands out of his grip and shoved him away from me easily as he wasn't applying much force now.
CONTROL FREAK.
I turned to leave but I felt his hand on my shoulder.
I sighed and faced him to remove his hand from my shoulder.
"Keep your hands off me!"
I glared at him but his next words caught me off guard.
"Only for now, angel eyes. But you can't keep my hands off of you especially when I have already laid my eyes on you." He smirked as he walked past me brushing his shoulder with mine leaving me all stunned and speechless.
I smacked my head.
Who's he?!
I can't really remember who he is. The fact I am dreading is, if he turns out to be one of the men belonging to my past. That could be true. He's a billionaire, I was a money digger. But I don't think billionaires come after the money diggers. Aren't they supposed to get rid of them? So that's not the reason. He is definitely someone else.
I straightened up and quickly walked back to the dining room.
"What took you so long?" Regina asked.
"Um I kind of got lost." I said as I noticed that Madeline was done eating, " I-I think, I should probably leave now."
"Is everything okay?"
Giving a glance towards Alarick, I continued, "Yeah, I just have some errands to run. Regina, I'll see you soon."
"Um Okay. Come here." I could feel the awkwardness in the air because of my sudden plan of leaving.
I walked towards her and giving her a tight hug, I walked out of the mansion with Madeleine on my side.
"When are we going to meet her again?" Madeleine asked tugging at my dress.
"Whenever you want to."
"Really?"
I nodded and she squealed loudly which caused me to giggle. I was happy that at least she doesn't hate her. But the only thing itching at the back of my head is who's
Alarick?
