Gunshots loud.

Heartbeat fast.

I pull the gun from the holster under my jacket. Nonna pulls out her two guns and stands in front of us, guns pointed out, looking for the person who just killed one of our own.

"Leave one alive, kill the rest," I yell over the gunshots, to my family, to my mafia.

Gabby, Angela and Ella run to their deceased friend whose blood is staining the white carpet. Tears appear in all their faces, but they are smart, they do not cry, they do not make a sound.

Nonna keeps her eyes pealed, making sure no one would try and kill her girls.

Half of the wedding guests escaped while the other half stayed to fight if were paralyzed with fear.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Angela's parents. As I step towards their direction, another gunshot is heard.

I run to them and pull then towards a hidden exit.

"Keep her safe," Angela's mother says before running away.

I grab a lone gun off the ground and run towards the gun fire.

Angela and her friends pull Eliza's lifeless body behind a church pew.

I see my father punch a short man with scars. Next to him Nonna shoots a man in the abdomen.

A slender man appears next to me, towering over me, a gun pointed directly at my heart.

"You know, they always that your wedding is supposed to be the happiest day of your life. Not so much for you Cap Mateo," The ice white haired man says with hand gestures and a masculine yet sarcastic voice.

I open my mouth to give him a response, words do not escape my mouth; blood splatters into it.

The man's body falls to reveal my wife, gun in hand and steam rising from the muzzle.

A deafening scream is heard and a gunshot follows. The two of us quickly turn to see another one of my men bleeding out and on the brink of death.

A women steps into our view, two guns pointed at each of hour heads.

Nonna runs to us, guns in hand.

Two guns go off.

Blood splatters.

Before I realize, a heavy weight pushes us to the ground.

My grandmothers blank blue eyes stare at me.

Warm, dark blood stains my skin and clothes; my grandmother's blood.
