《Friends With The Mafia Capo》Chapter XLIII

"No, no, that is all wrong. Eliza walks down the isle first," the wedding planner says tapping her pen aggressively against the clipboard.

We run through the wedding routine once again. The bridesmaids and grooms men walk down the middle once again. Grace in every footstep.

Me and Mateo stand at the door of the entrance, waiting for our friends and family to go to their positions at the alter.

Mateo nudges me in the shoulder and whispers under his breathe. "Did you find your wedding dress?"

"Yes, and a little something extra," I wink. "Did you find your tux?"

"Stefano and Jordan helped me pick it out. Gio was there too but he wasn't helping much."

I let out a small laugh and he places a warm hand against my cheek. As he leans in for a kiss, someone clears their throat from behind us.

We quickly pull away and see my father, hands behind his back. "It's your turn to walk up, Mateo."

"Sorry, Mr.Alfanso."

My father pats Mateo's shoulder and nods his head. Mateo walks down the isle with ease and perfection. He standing in front of me, hands interlocked behind his back. The sunlight shines against his face, illuminating it. His perfect face smiles at me.

I pat down my short white, practice dress, making sure no wrinkles are visible. My father raises his elbow for me to grab onto.

"My baby is all grown up."

"How cliché, dad."

As he begins to reply, the piano begins to play. A beautiful song enters my ear and goes to my heart. Finally it feels real that I will be marrying the love of my life. The man that makes me a better women.

We slowly walk up to the alter, passing the few friends and family that chose to join us for the wedding rehearsal.

After an hour turning into three because of Gio, we finally finished and headed home.

"I'm sorry, I did not know that I was not supposed to drink the wine," Giovanni says shutting the front door of the house and locking it.

"Keep going," I say waiting for him to continue listing the reasons why the rehearsal was extended.

"I'm sorry for eating some of the flowers, that was a dare by the way, and I'm sorry for tripping and breaking some of the decorations."

I laugh and give him a hug. "It's fine."

"No strippers, I promise," Giovanni says winking at Mateo.

"See you all later," I say jumping into the limo that Gabby rented for my bachelorette party.

"I definitely got strippers," Gio confirms.

The loud party bus stops in front of our house just as the girl's limo drives away. Angela opens her window and waves bye and yells for us to have fun.

Gio covers my eyes and leads me to the doors, Stefano, Mark, and Jordan right behind us.

"Oh shit," mark says while my eyes are still covered by Giovanni's hands.

I tear Giovanni's hand from my face and stare at the old women in mini skirts in front of us. They wear 6 inch heals and hold a cane in their hand.

"Was the age 28 or 82 on the flier?" Jordan asks, his eyes open wide.

"I-um... don't remember," Gio says scratching his head.

I explain to the women that they are welcome to stay at our house or my mother could take them back to their (retirement) homes. I apologize for their inconvenience and give them their 500 euros each.

They leave the party bus without one of them breaking a bone or hip and Jordan connects his phone with the bus speakers.

"Blunt?" Gio says extending one towards me.

I grab it, place it on my lips, light it and take a long drag. The smoke escapes my lips, taking my stress and worries along with it.

"I'm good," Stefano says when Gio offers him one.

I fall back into one of the seats and place the blunt into my mouth once again.

Jordan walks over to the mini bar and pulls out a bottle of whiskey and 5 glasses. "Whiskey?" he asks.

We all agree and he fills us a glass each. Stefano helps Jordan pass out the drinks. When Jordan gives me mine, I give him a firm tap on the shoulder and thank him. I take the glass with the hand that has the blunt and place my other on the top of the couch. I take a drink from my glass and the cold alcohol enters my lips and slides down my throat smoothly.

I sway my hips with the beat of the music. I raise my hands above my head and they too sway with the music. Gabby hands me a drink and I down it all in one gulp.

I spot Ella sitting at the bar, phone in hand, scrolling through Instagram.

I stance my way over to her and grab the phone from her hands.

"Come dance with me," I say placing her phone into my purse.

I grab both her hands, pulling and encouraging her to come dance with me.

She begins to loosen up and dance without a second thought. Gabby and Eliza join us and we dance, laugh, drink and dance together until the peak of twilight.
