《Friends With The Mafia Capo》Chapter XLII

We enter the boutique with bright smiles plastered on our faces.

The bell rings and a blonde women greats us with her arms wide open. "Welcome, which one of you ladies is the lucky bride?"

Gabby pushes me forward and I slowly raise my hand.

"Come come," she says guiding us towards a few couches and a small stage and a brightly lit mirror.

Nonna, Maria, my mother, Gabby, Eliza, and Ella sit down on the couches while their eyes travel all over the room, looking for dresses for me.

"So do you have anything in mind? Budget?" She grabs a clipboard and a pen from the table.

I turn to look at my mother but before a word escapes my mouth, Nonna, Maria and my mom say "no budget" in union. When they realise that they said it in union, they turn to each other and laugh at each other.

"Okay then," she laughs. "I have a few dresses in mind." The tall blonde woman walks towards the back of the store to grab a few dresses.

"Let's not spend too much money?" I say to the women on the couch.

Nonna stands up and she gives me a tight hug. "We just want you to look like a princess on your special day, mi bambino." She pauses then whispers in my ear, "I being the first."

I smile and the sales lady walks back to us with three dresses in hand. She nods and I follow her into the large dressing room.

She hands me the first dress and tells me that she will be standing right outside and that if I need help then I am to call her. She told me that her name was Addison and I could just call her Addy.

I tell her my name and I smile, closing the drapes of the dressing room.

I unzip the black dress cover to reveal a beautiful white dress. The sleeves are adorned with pearls and lace, the mid part of the dress tight and fanning out at the end. The neckline, a deep V and a beautiful veil rests on the hanger.

I step out of my clothes and unzip the back of the dress. I take it off the hanger and step into it. I zip the dress half way before needing help from Addy.

She helps me zip up the dress and she adds some clips making the dress fit perfectly against my body. Addy then clips the veil into my hair and helps me with my train as I walk back to my family.

Their starring eyes burn holes into my back as I step up onto the mini stage.

"This dress is made by Lafayette Jáun. It is 6,000 euros, without alterations." Addison says.

"That is way less than what I paid for my dress," Maria laughs

"Eh you can do better, try another one," Gabby says.

I look at the dress again and agree and walk back to the dressing room.

Addy helps me I clip and unzip the dress and gives me some privacy so I can slip out of the dress.

The dress slides down my body and pools at the bottom of my feet. I step out and place the dress back on its hanger.

I slightly open the curtain and hand the dress back to Addy and she gives me the second dress that feels much lighter.

The dress is a simple cream coloured dress with long, loose sleeves. Even knowing that the dress would not be flattering for me, I still put it on. I ask for Addy's assistance once again and she helps me walk to my family.

"That's... definitely a dress," Ella says figuring with her phone.

"The last dress was much better," my mom says.

"Okay. I do think that the last dress will be the family favourite," Addison says helping me back to the dressing room.

Once again we walk back to the dressing room. With the second dress hung on its hanger and back in Addy's hands, I unzip the last dress.

A small gasp escapes my lips as I stare at the dress.

An off white dress, with a laced bodice top. A slit runs down the right leg, from thigh to end. The texture of the dress, soft and silky under my touch. A small matching lace cape sits on the hanger, on top of the dress. I stare at the dress in awe for another moment before sliding it on. The dress covers my flaws and enhances every curve.

As I'm about to open the drapes and ask for Addy to clip the dress, I get a notification.

I throw my phone into my purse and ask Addy to clip my dress.

She does so and compliments the dress.

I step in front of the mirrors as Nonna stands up and adoration in her eyes. "Que Bella." (What a beautiful girl)

"Yep," Gabby nods, "This is the dress."

"This is a dress made by Giovanni Alessabdro. It will be 20,000 euros with alterations." The lady says looking at her clipboard.

I grab handfuls of the dress and smile, ear to ear. "This is the one."

Nonna looks me up and down more thoroughly and says ,"Something is missing. Wait I have an idea."

She sprints to the class cabinet decorated with bedazzled crowns and hairpieces.

Reaching up, Nonna grabs the biggest and prettiest crown.

She runs back and places the heavy crown on my head. "Now you look like a princess."

I stand up even straighter than before and look at the women in front of me. Each have a special place in my heart. Each more diffrent than the last but all perfect.

"Don't touch that," Stefano and Jordan yell at the same time.

"What what is wrong with it?" I ask holding up a light grey suit.

"I will personally murder you if you buy that," Jordan says.

"What do I get to wear since I'm the most important person in the whole wedding?" Giovanni asks us, as he skins through racks of suits.

Stefano turns towards Gio and sighs. "Let's just find something for Mateo. And you," he points at me, "you are not buying a grey suit."

Scared, I place the hanger back in its place and walk towards where the black suits are.

"You want to look good but not outshine Angela," Jordan explains looking through suits.

After 20 minutes of looking at different suits a man helps us and measures me so he can tailor it to fit perfectly.

"Ok is it our time now?" Giovanni asks.

"Yes but let's find something that suits all three of us so we match," Jordan says grabbing Stefano's hand.

They walk towards a rack of suits and Giovanni walks over to my side."Did you hear anything last night?"

"Sorry?"

"I- um watched a movie last night."

"What type of movie," my eyes widen.

"It's called 'A walk to remember'"

I skim through my brain for a moment before he clarifies. "Jesus Christ Mateo, I was crying ok? I just didn't know if you heard me if not."
