《Friends With The Mafia Capo》Chapter XLI

*2 months later*

"So I'm thinking, your main table would be over there, big vases with white flowers. Round tables for everyone else, rectangle tables never work." The wedding planner talks as she points and makes hand gestures.

"Do not spare any expense, I want our wedding to be perfect." Mateo says grabbing my hand.

"So what colors are we thinking? Maybe a light shade of olive green?" She pulls out a packet of colors and points to a beautiful color of green.

After three hours of planning every detail, down to the smallest detail, we finally finish planning our dream wedding.

When Mateo said do not spare any expense, he meant it. I told him he did not need to spend so much but he told me that 'I only get to marry you once.'

"Are you tired? I am tired," Mateo says as we walk back into our home.

"Hey, at least we planned everything. All that's left is my dress and your tux."

"I cannot wait to marry you."

"Me too," I say giving him a peck on the lips.

"In two weeks I get to call you my wife."

"And I get to call you my husband." I say before getting cut off by passing Mafia member.

"Sup Capo," the man nods before walking away, towards the kitchen.

"Oh speaking of, I was wondering, what happens to my rank when we get married? I mean I don't care what my rank is, the only important part is that I marry you but I'm just curious. In movies the women get nothing," I babble nervously.

"Basically, we are equals. You get the same amount of authority I have and when I die, you get to take over. Also, do not believe those dumb ass Mafia movies, shits are always way off." He says with a straight face, causing me to start laughing.

"Come eat everyone," Nonna yells from the kitchen. "I made seafood."

We make our way towards the dining room and Nonna grabs my hand as I sit down. "I know how you dumb young people do diets before wedding. No diet. Eat."

Many chairs remain empty and we wait for the rest of them to trickle in.

Don Alexandro and Maria enter the room, hand in hand. He pulls out her chair and pushes her in after she sits. He then sits for himself and nods to the rest of the mafia members, signaling for them to sit down and eat.

"That will be us someday," Mateo whispers into my ear as he reaches over to grab a bowl of shrimp.

I smile and Mateo pours some crab legs onto my plate then onto his.

"What time is it?" I ask Mateo.

He looks down at his Rolex and says that it is 11:25.

"In like 20 minutes, your mom, Nonna, my mom, the girls and I are going dress shopping. When is your appointment?"

Mateo holds the fork full of pasta in front of his mouth as he says,"At 1. Eat something before you go."

I look down at the crab legs and tell him that I don't know how to eat it.

"Here, I will show you." He grabs a crab leg. "You snap it in half and suck the meat out of the shell." He does as he explains to me.

"Basically what you did last night," Gio says nonchalantly as he sips on some dark red wine.

"Giovanni," his father says scolding at his son.

"The boy isn't wrong Andrea," Nonna says winking at me.

My face feels warm as I excuse myself from the table. I grab my half full plate and walk it to the kitchen. Thankfully, none of the maids nor soldiers are there to witness my embarrassment.

Avoiding the dining room I walk to our room to get ready. As I walk up the stairs my phone dings.

Text message from Mateo/Daddy

(I really need to change his name)

*video attachment*

My eyes widen at the video he sent me.

I quickly text back. "What's that for?"

"For fun 😉" He texts back almost instantly.

I don't reply but he shoots me another message. "They're just messing with you. They didn't actually hear you. Next time no one will be home for yk... reasons."

I quickly shut off my phone and shove it into my pocket. I run to the room and slam the door shut. Walking into the closet, I grab one of Mateo's long sleeve shirt, a pair of leggings and a pair of shoes.

I sit in front of the mirrored vanity and take off the makeup so when I try on the white dresses, no makeup will smear off of me and stain the dress.

Someone knocks on the door and I tell them to enter.

"Come downstairs, your parents are here," Ella says smiling.

She loves my parents. We would always have sleepovers at my house and my parents would buy us snacks and rent movies for us.

I haven't seen my parents in almost a year so as soon as those words escape her lips, I grab her arm and run down the stairs to see them.

My parents stand in front of me with their mouth wide as they stare at the size of the house. I run to them and hug them both at the same time.

"Hello sweetheart," my father says hugging me back.

"This house is gorgeous," my mom says still amused at the size and sheer beauty of the mansion.

Don Alexandro and Maria enter the room and greet my parents. My father extends his arm towards the Don and gives him a firm handshake.

The Don copies the gesture and gives my father a slight smile. "You have a very kind daughter," he says with an Italian accent. Alexandro then shakes my mothers hand.

As our parents begin to talk with eachother, Mateo and Nonna enter the room and walk over to stand by my side.

Nonna and Maria take turns shaking hands with my father and hugging my mother and kissing both of her cheeks.

"So you're going to be my son in law," my mother says tilting her chin towards Mateo.

Mateo shakes my fathers hand and places a kiss on my mother's cheek.

"Come, come, I show you to your room." Nonna grabs the suitcases and the purse that my mother is holding.

Maria, my mother and Nonna take the bags upstairs while Don Alexandro and my father talk and walk towards the wine cellar.

"Don't forget we have to leave in a bit," I yell to the women before the elevator door closes.

"See they love eachother already," Mateo grins. He places a kiss on my cheek before telling me that he has some business that he has to go do. I give him a hug and he leaves.

"So you are the guy that has been fucking with my club these past few week?" I say to the man that sits in front of me, cigar in one hand and a whiskey on ice on the other.

"Maybe, maybe not." He grins.

I grab the gun that's hidden underneath my jacket and shook him in the knee.

His screams are loud as blood drips down, down, down, pooling at his feet. He drops the cigar in the glass and places the glass on the table before placing his hands over his knee.

"I will not talk. Nothing you do will make me talk," he says.

Although he has been stealing money and business I respect that he is loyal.

His dead eyes stare back at me.
