《Friends With The Mafia Capo》Chapter XXXIV

The bartender with dark eyes and dark hair, hands me my small glass of whiskey. I walk towards the back of the ballroom and find my friends at the dance floor. Mateo and Angela together, Mark and Gabby, Ella and Eliza, and lastly Gio bothering random people.
"You seem lonely," says a boy walking up to me. His dark brown eyes looking straight into mine.
I sip my drink and look away. "I'm fine."
"Dance with me."
"Can't," I say walking away from the beautiful, dark skinned boy.
"I know you want to," he says following after me.
I stop at the bar and roughly set my drink into the countertop. After a bit of convincing, I agree to one dance.
Although I only agreed to one dance, we continued dancing together until the clock read 10:50.
As I am about to turn him, he gets pulled away.
"Why the fuck are you dancing with another man?" Asks a man similar to the boy that I was dancing with.
"Because I can father," he answers.
I take a protective step forward, only for the older man to yank the boy away from his collar.
"Stop," I say.
Instead of stopping, the man forces the boy to walk faster.
"I will find you again," says the dark haired boy.
"No don't say that," I say trying to run after them. As I'm about to reach them, three soldiers (which I'm guessing are their's) stop me.
I continue trying to fight the men, but I could not break through their defense. I stop trying to fight and walk over to the balcony, and sit down on the cold chair.
Someone sets their hand on my shoulder. I grab their arm and twisted their elbow backwards.

"Yo, chill homeboy," Gio says kicking my shin.
"Sorry."
A single tear runs down the left side of my face.
"No, don't cry," he says giving me a bone crushing hug.
"Why?"
"Stefano, you are one of the smartest people I know. You will find him. Oh and also the fact that you are a mother fucking hacker."
"It's not just that. What will Don say about me being gay? Our friend group?"
"If anyone says anything, I will drop kick their ass to Antarctica," Gio says jumping onto the balcony railing.
"Gio, I'm serious."
"Don't worry. Come with me, I have an idea," Gio says jumping off the railing and grabbing my arm.
Gio pulls me past crowds of people. Gio slows down when we are nearing Mateo. Gio taps Mateo's shoulder with one hand and slides his other into his pocket, and grabs the keys to Mateo's car. Mateo looks at us with a weird look and we start running again.
We get to Mateo's car and we jump in. Gio connects his phone and plays Do it on the tip by Megan thee Stallion.
"Perfect timing," I say rolling my eyes.
"Shut up. We are going to get your man," he says taking a sharp right turn.
Although I know that Gio is known to be the best driver in the entire Italian Mafia, I quickly put on my seat belt and do the sign of the cross.
That's when I finally comprehend what Gio just said. I stare at him like he has three heads.
"I'm not in the Mafia for no reason," he says taking another sharp turn.
He finally stops in front of a pretty good sized mansion. A figure with a hood jumps into the back seat of Mateo's car.

"I bet you missed me," the figure says.
I turn around to be met with the familiar voice from tonight. "How?"
"Me and Jordan were friends in elementary school," Gio says speeding away from the gloomy mansion.
"Were?"
"He stole Nonna's special cookies from me," Gio replies.
"And he still hasn't forgiven me for that," Jordan says laughing.
"No one fucks with my cookies. The last person who did is now six feet underground," Gio says running a red light.
We continue telling stories and jokes until Gio stops the car in front of a carnival. He forces out of the car and tells us to have fun.
As I am about to fight him, he speeds away.

All I ever wanted
"I know we broke up, but.., " he whispers in my ear, trailing his finger lightly along my arm. He places a soft kiss on my collarbone, making a shiver course through me. He tilts his head so he's staring straight into my eyes. His pupils dilate as he gazes at my face, stroking my cheeks slightly with his thumb. "I just can't seem to give you up." And with that, he crashes his lips onto mine. ~~~Dove Kelch loses all hope in relationships when her first love cheated on her with her best friend and disappeared.
