《Friends With The Mafia Capo》Chapter XI

The 4 am alarm starts going off, I sit up and rub the sleep out of my eyes. I walk over to my bathroom and look at my body in the mirror. Purple bruises cover my torso from the previous night. I had worse.
I turn the lock on the bathroom door and step into the steaming shower. I wipe myself after 10 minutes and walk into the closet. I pull out a pair of black shorts and my black basketball jersey from highschool.
I get out of my closet and head towards the gym. I start on the treadmill. Running helps me cope with my fucked up life.
About 45 minutes later I wrap my hands and start boxing. I always wanted to do it professionally but father never allowed it.
After deciding I had enough I walk over to Gio, Mark and Stefano's rooms to wake their lazy asses up. I tell them to wake up the girls and to come down to the dining room.
I knock on Angela's door and after a few moments of silence, I knock again.
I enter the room to see her fast asleep. I stand next to her bed and shake her awake.
"What? What happened?! Who got killed?" She whisper yells at me.
"Gio is dead," I lie.
"Let's go," she says shooting up from her bed and running towards the door in only shorts and a tank top on.
"What happened here?" Gio's head pops into the room.
"You aren't dead?" Angela asks.
"Not physically. Why?"
"I will kill you, Mateo. I was freaking the fuck out, you bitch," she says running back towards me.
"You can try," I say as I notice Gio leaving the room.
She tried to push me but I don't budge. She jumps into my arms and tries to push me again. She finally gets out of my arms and says, " I'm too tired but I will get you back."

"Okay, zemer," I say as I exit her room.
I like the way that she is never scared to be herself. All the other girls I have been always hide themselves behind tons of makeup or limited clothing. When Angela jumped into my arms my stomach felt weird. Eh, she might have just hit one of my bruises.
I slog over to the closet and pull out a maroon hoodie and light wash jeans. I walk back to my bed and fix it up. I check my phone and text my parents good morning.
As I walk out of the room, I head towards the elevator, when I suddenly realize I had walked down the wrong hallway. A man stumbles out of a room and winks at me with a blunt in between his lips.
"Hey, cutie. How you doin'?" he asks me, blowing the smoke into my face.
"Gross," I whisper under my breath, " Can you show me to the elevator?"
"I can take you to my room."
"What's going on here?" asks Mark coming towards us.
"I'm taking her to my room," he says taking another hit from his joint.
"No, I asked where the elevator is," I say.
"I can show you where the elevator is," Mark says leading me out of that hallway.
After a few moments of silence, he speaks up. " I'm sorry about Evan. He is a total crackhead. Once he smoked our whole supply in one week," Mark says pressing the first-floor button.
"Well damn," I say stepping out of the elevator and walking towards the kitchen.
I notice a lot of men and women sitting around the large table. They turn their heads towards me as I pull out the chair next to Gabby.

"This is Angela. She is another one of our recruits," Mateo tells the men and women.
"Benasera," I say looking around.
No one says anything or even looks in my direction.
"Angela, eat. Make yourself at home," says Don Rossi. I was doing some research and Don means the top boss or something like that.
"Yes, thank you," I reply.
I reach over to grab a crepe but Mateo takes it before I can. I shoot him a deadly look but he sends me an even deadlier look back. Never mess with a man's food I guess.
I take another one from the plate, spread some Nutella on it, and start eating it. Some people finish eating and take their plates to the kitchen.
When I finish eating, I carry my plate to the kitchen while Mateo walks behind me.
"We have to start training," he says.
