"Heart Stew." Jungkook replied as he leaned against the counter while looking at me. "Shall we begin, Na Ra?" Jin asked and I nod. Beginning with washing my hands, Jin hand the vegetables to me. "Peel the potatoes and cut them in half and then another half. The carrots, slice it like this." Jin demonstrate to me and I mentally take note of it. I did like how he demonstrated to me and placed the vegetables into a plate. "Now for the meat. The heart." He placed a bag of defrosted meat in front of me. "We are not only going to use heart but also some meat." He take them out and put it in a metal bowl.
There is still blood and it seems warm and fresh. "First cut out the arteries. We don't want that chunk." He chopped it off and dispose it in a plastic bag. "Add salt into this clean bowl. We need to put the heart and meat in here and wash off the blood before we cut them into pieces." Jin instructed me and I did as being told. The clear water now turn bloody red and I poured it away before refilling with more water and salt. According to Jin, this is to get rid of that unpleasant smell from the meat. After couple of washes, I watched him begin chopping the heart into half and cut them into small chunk pieces. "Make sure it is not too thin. We're cooking stew. A soup dish not something to grill." He advice and help me with the knife work.
After we are settled with the meat, Jin begin to heat up the pot. He taught me from the beginning until the end. He covered up the pot and turn to look at me. "We shall wait for approximately three hours. Now is 9:30 am. Just nice. It will be done by lunch time." Jin said and he proceed to wash his hands.

"Jungkook she's done here." Jin said and Jungkook who is busy with his work, look up at me and raise his brows. "Only one recipe hyung?" He asked Jin who rolled his eyes. "You know how to cook too, Jungkook. You can teach her when I am not around." Jin said and with that he left the kitchen. I walked towards the kitchen counter where Jungkook is and sit on the barstool next to him. "Erm, why don't you ask Aunt Yoon to cook for you instead?" I asked and he turned to look at him. Oh no, he seem agitated by that question. "She's old plus she has been doing a lot of house chores. I also tripled up your salary so...." Right he does not need to continue the sentence. "Sorry. I should have not ask you that question."
Our conversation was cut short when a tall man in black suit walks in. "Morning Jungkook." He walked towards the fridge and get a carton of milk. "Oh we have guest?" He turned to look at me and flashed a dimple smile. He seems familiar to me. "Oh you are the elevator girl. I'm Kim Namjoon. You must be Jungkook's new secretary." He poured the milk and accidentally drop and spill the milk on the table which cause a mess. "For once hyung, stop being so clumsy." Jungkook said before he close his laptop. "Sorry Jungkook ah. Na Ra is too beautiful. I'm distracted by her beauty." Jungkook just ignore him. "It is only her second day working with me. Can you stop flirting and clean that mess up? Na Ra, I need to discuss with you about some changes. Follow me." He got up and leave the kitchen. I followed him like a little puppy from behind.
"Whose heart is it?" I asked as I sense Jin hyung entering the kitchen as soon Jungkook left with Na Ra. "Soo Hee's." Soo Hee was Jungkook's ex business client. She decided to end the contract after being offered a larger sum by another company. She had a thing for Taehyung and well Tae being the charmer, he manage to seduce her and well she ended up being tied up in the basement of his house.

"You killed her?" I asked Jin who is currently tasting the slow cooked stew. "Nope. It was Tae himself. I've been busy with something else." The way he smirked, I knew something bad is coming. "Hyung tell me what is it... that smirk of yours is rare to appear unless you have evil plan." I push him for answer. "Fine fine.. Jungkook, he wants Na Ra to slowly forget about the existence of Jesus. I told Jungkook to gather something personal that belongs to Na Ra and use it as an offering for him."
"So what personal item have you gotten from her?" I poured a glass of bourbon for myself. This is getting interesting. Jin slide a small plastic bag towards me and unholy Lucifer, the scent immediately caught my attention. Low growl escaped from my throat. "No wonder her scent is extra strong today. She's on her period." I lifted up the bag and I clench my jaw. "Be careful Namjoon, that is for him and not you." Jin hyung snatched the bag from me as I inhale the scent.
"Fuck! I really need to taste her one day. At least a drop of blood from her." I gritted my teeth before Jin hit my back hard. "Say that in front of Jungkook, he will use you as the sacrifice goat." Jin warned me. "Anyway are you aware that her boyfriend is investigating on the murder cases? Well to be specific our murder cases." Jin asked me and I raise my brows questioning him.
"Boyfriend? Wait does Jungkook knows she has a boyfriend?" Well this can't be good. "Yes, Jungkook knows. Enough of talking. I need to take this down to the dark room. Do you want to tag along?" Jin offered me and I shake my head. "I need to seal a deal with a soon to be celebrity. Do update me what you going to do with that." I point at the sanitary bag.
Jungkook's home office is quite huge. He actually run through the concept of the business and also his clients list. Golden Closet is really a huge successful company. It is known worldwide. There are a lot of trophies, awards, medals and certificates decorated on his shelves. Some are work related and some are his personal awards. Time flies and it is almost 12:30pm.
"Go and get change back to your office wear. Aunt Yoon will prepare lunch. We shall have lunch here and then we can straight ahead go back to office for meeting." Jungkook instructed me. I wanted to ask him something personal but I hold back my tongue and walk out of his office. I made my way upstairs only to bump onto something hard as I made a right turn.
"Fucking hell!" The man cuss out loud and I look at him bowing my head. "I'm sorry." I repeated the words many time. The man has a milky skin, blonde bleached hair and dark brows. He is in a white shirt with black sweatpants. "Who the fuck are you?" He growls as he look at me. The next thing I know he pinned me against the nearest wall and growl deep.
"Are you one of his whore?" He asked before he pushed my hair to the back and leans down to run his nose along the crook of my neck. He takes a sharp inhale and I could feel his gripped on my shoulder tightened.

Rimward Bound
Every citizen of the sky-cities of His Majesty's Star-Empire knows that a ship, both sky- and star-, is more then just a few bits of metal. It is the grand sum of it's hull and the crew that sail it. 'Hulls of battle-steel and men to match!' That's what the Navy's recruitment poster's claim at least. Every sailor knows that there is one more component that the city-bound folk ignore at their own peril: the soul of the ship. That it takes both man and hull to make a true ship, and that neither alone serve well or for long. In 8225 Lord Jeffrye Saltonstall the Fourth, Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps, demands semi-automated ships to 'reduce the loss of life among our brave crews', manages to convince the other politicians and bureaucrats to fund them, and gets the Office of Ship Construction to sign off on the ships as structurally sound. Dockyard workers shake their heads at the ships, muttering that they are cursed from birth, even as construction drags on. In 8230 the Explorer, first of her class, is launched. She sets out in 8233 to great fanfare on a trip expected to last six months. Neither she nor her twelve-person crew is ever heard from again. By 8235, the remaining seven Explorers are are commissioned. Lord Saltonstall managed to find crews for six of them but at the cost of mass resignations. The Night Horse, last of the Explorer class, sat in reserve as her sister-ships served well enough despite ill luck and misfortune. The Office of Ship Construction quietly issues notice that no more semi-automated ships are to be built and that all active Semi-automated ships are to be quietly retired and broken up for scrap over the next ten years. The Night Horse, sitting in reserve, is missed due to bureaucratic oversight. In 8250 Lord Ayland Wynstryngham the Eighth assumes the office of Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps. His first act is to issue notice that no ship is to be without crew nor sit in dock or reserve for longer then required for maintenance and upkeep. The Night Horse, all but forgotten, is quietly brought back into active service. Recruiting a crew for her proves another matter entirely. What poor or desperate fool would willingly sign on to crew, much less command, a cursed ship and spend months or years in deep space? Well, you would, of course. Where else is a kid from the gutters going to find that kind of freedom in the service of His Majesty? A [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] 2021.
