You were pacing around the room, your feet tapping on the old, wooden floor rapidly as you kept your gaze locked on the door. What in the world took Jeff so long? You couldn't leave this room without his key and above all you didn't think it would be safe without him but...
You really wanted to go out.
You wanted to show Masky and Hoodie that you weren't completely clueless and that you really had a brain. You wanted to make some sort of deal for your friends in order to get them out of here alive. You would find a way out for yourself.
But this delay... It killed you. For all you knew it could kill any one of your friends. No, you shouldn't think about something like that. You had the upper hand now, you had the code. The only thing you needed to do was to go into that maze and tell them...
If you were ever going to get there.
You gave a yelp of frustration as you threw a pillow across the room, praying that Jeff would return soon. You couldn't take this suspense! Where was he? Simply his hobby wouldn't take this long, unless he has some sort of reason for it.
Suddenly a tingling sound had caught your attention and you snapped your head into the direction of the door.
Jeff was back?
The sound however continued and you heard a key being inserted into the door. You gazed in anticipation, preparing yourself to jump at Jeff and demand him to take you to that duo but instead of Jeff opening the door and walking inside... You heard the key being taken out again.
You raised your eyebrows in confusion as you stepped closer towards the door. What in the world is this bullshit? Is Jeff being serious? What is he planning on doing? You heard more tingling sounds, as if it wasn't just one key this time, but a lot.
You then again heard the key being inserted again before it turned, leaving a soft 'click'. The door opened but instead of the always angry Jeff you were planning to see, you saw one of the two people you were desperate to find.
Hoodie.
Your mouth hung open as you only stared at the hooded man, who had put his keys back into his pockets. How could this be? You thought only Jeff had a key to this room but never ever thought of the possibility that those two would have one. Why would they?
"Are you ready, yet?" The hooded man only spoke, crossing his arms and waiting for a reply. You could only stare at the man, wondering what in the world this all means and how he could enter this room. It was then it all clicked into your head.
He was talking about the code.
But how in the world did he know?
"We give you a day or two to think about it. Do not mess it up."
Of course! The time he gave you probably was at its limit. Was this just purely coincidence? That was the only explanation you could find. You hadn't told anyone that you knew the code. Just good timing? It could be... But... You knew what Laughing Jack could do, enter your dreams and deform them to his will.

Who knows what those two could do? Maybe they can read your mind? Is that even possible?! Whatever it could be, it wasn't important right now. You'll find out eventually and right now you had to focus on those two and the code.
You simply nodded walking over to the door but before you could reach him, he held up his hand, a sign for you to stop. You immediately stopped in your tracks, wondering what the meaning of that sign was. Do you need to bring something with you?
"Maybe you should dress yourself first." Your cool and calm demeanor changed once you realized what he was talking about. You were dressed in your underwear and a simple, old T-shirt. Your face turned as red as a tomato before you stammered something unknown.
Thank the lord it was Hoodie and not Masky, he would immediately give you a sexist, completely offensive remark about how you looked, if not jumping right on top of you with a knife in his hand. You immediately snatched a pair of old, way too tight pants off the ground, your bra and your shirt.
You didn't want to keep Hoodie wanting for too long. He seemed patient, but you knew better. These were the clothes you had to deal with. You speeded over to the bathroom and slammed the door shut, not even locking it. You would only want to shelter yourself from Hoodie's view.
You quickly dressed yourself before stepping outside. It didn't take any longer than 30 seconds. You didn't even dare to look at the hooded man as you walked behind him, slowly closing the door behind you. You didn't exactly know where you would be going, but you did feel a little safe.
The fact that they needed you created some sort of shield, some sort of protection around you. Hoodie was your guard right now, protecting you from other killers who had nothing to do with the code and the small vault. The code itself was protecting you from Hoodie's wrath.
It was some sort of deal you actually could live with.
Hoodie didn't do the same as Jeff. Instead of taking you to the old, rusty chair on the left side of the corridor, he took you to the two, large, wooden doors on the right side of the corridor. You began to feel really nervous about going through the door.
Jeff probably took you the other way around for a reason and you really did not want to find out why. However Hoodie didn't seem faced by anything, as he just kept on walking in silence towards the two doors. You only swallowed the remaining saliva in your throat as you came nearer.
Slightly trembling, you waited for Hoodie to open the door, opening a place you'd rather keep a secret. His gloved hands reached out for the doorknobs before he twisted them, opening the portal to a whole new part of the gigantic mansion.
You came towards a huge staircase. This one didn't look old and rusty, but instead it seemed as if it had been polished minutes ago, with the decorative banisters as a finishing touch. You could say that this staircase was beautiful...

If it didn't give you such a horrible vibe.
There was a pounding felt in your head, increasing with each step you took. The whole room was lit by a gigantic chandelier, its purpose to give of that show of elegance and richness. But it failed miserably. It made the room feel even darker, even more like something coming straight from the underworld.
You had no idea what it could be, how this room which looked so beautiful could make you shiver like that. It was as if the red carpet on the stairs was concealing something, as if it was trying to hide all of the cruelty which had taken place on this staircase.
What is this place?
Hoodie continued walking down the stairs, eventually glancing over to see if you followed him closely enough. Once you were almost down the stairs you saw something really important, something crucial for your plan to escape eventually.
It was the front door.
You recognized it immediately. It was extremely big, with tons of ornaments and tokens engraved into the flawless, dark wood. There wasn't a handle, but instead some sort of long, golden tube which probably had to be pushed to open the door.
Your heart began to race even more and the sweat started to increase on your body. You only hoped that Hoodie wouldn't notice. You continued to walk behind him, keeping your gaze focused on the large door. It had to be it; you were so close to freedom yet couldn't grab it.
You came to another door, this one a lot simpler than the other door. Hoodie opened it and you immediately recognized the hallway you were in. It was the same one as Jeff always took you to, the one which contains the door towards the basement.
You had no idea the front door would be so close to that.
You now knew why Jeff never took you through that door, to that staircase. He was afraid. Afraid that once you had seen the front door, once you could reach out for it, that your attempt to escape would become real. You would have more chance of succeeding and he knew that.
You had to keep your breathing under control as you thought of it. Jeff wasn't on the same side as you were, that was certain. But this was just plain stupid. You would've found it eventually and you almost began to hate him for being so obvious about it.
As expected, Hoodie walked over towards the door leading to the basement. You were wondering though, if you would go back to that maze again. Where would they have left the box? Would they hide it somewhere no one can find? Maybe that Slender guy has it?
You entered the basement through the door, walking down the stairs in silence. Hoodie wasn't really a talkative person, but you didn't mind. Oh no, you liked it. You wouldn't even know what to talk about. You walked further, indeed going to the big, metal door.
You both stopped in front of it, Hoodie grabbing his keys and examining them, probably picking the right one. You noticed how he had several keys. Correction, how he had a lot of keys. Were these all the keys for every door in the mansion? Why would he have them?
When he had found the right key he unlocked the door, pushing it open before retreating his keys back into his pockets again. He signed to you to follow him, leaving the door to slowly close out of itself. You immediately wrapped your arms around your body in a failed attempt to warm yourself up.
The whole corridor seemed even colder than it was before and you slowly walked with Hoodie through this maze. You wouldn't want to lose him, you wouldn't want to wander here all alone again. It was so dark in here that you almost had to hold on to the hooded man to feel even slightly safe.
What if someone would hear you? Lurking around again? How would you get back to the basement and out of this maze? You hoped you wouldn't be alone, but a thought told you that you should let your hope go. If so then you had no time to lose.
You needed to remember the way this time, so that you could get out of here easily, quietly and above all without being chased. Alright he's going:
Left, right, left, left, right, straightforward, left, right, straightforward, right, right, left, left.
It was then he walked through a hallway and stopped in front of a door. You didn't recognize it, but you guessed that it would be only normal. You hadn't recognized anything the first time you came here. Was it the same way again? What was the way again?
You needed to remember it! You nearly yelled at yourself in your mind, repeating the way over and over again while Hoodie knocked on the door. You tried to make a mental note, hoping that it would somehow be stored somewhere in your mind. You could only pray that once outside you would know where to go.
Hoodie opened the door and then walked inside. You followed suit and once the door had been closed behind you, someone spoke:
"Long time no see, sunshine."

Ah, we're finally there! Should we be happy about it though?
It is again a lamer chapter, but I need this calm for what is going to happen in the next few chapters. What you ask? Well, that's a secret. I can tell you already that something horrible will happen and then the reader will do something she might regret. It also zooms in a little on Jeff's side of the story, but you'll see what I mean!
Anyway thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed. Do not hesitate to leave a comment, feedback, a heart or critique. I'll try to reply to everything.
The next update will be in again 4 to 9 days. Be prepared!
Stay awesome.
