"Let her go!" Gabriel roared.

"Or what, you'll kill me?" Anton manically laughed. "That's what I want you to do!"

Cali began to tremble, as Anton held the cold steel blade of the knife to her neck. To her absolute disgust, he placed a kiss upon her cheek. She was terrified as warm teas began to stream down her cheeks. Cali looked up at Gabriel. He had combination of a look of both fear, and anger within his eyes.

Her breathing increased, as she could feel her own heart begin to race. This was it, this was how she was going to die. Maybe she had lived as a victim her whole life, but that didn't mean she had to die like one. Whether it was because she knew she had nothing left to lose, or whether it was her anger over what was happening? Cali had finally found her true inner strength.

"You're a coward Anton!" She exclaimed through gritted teeth.

"I beg your pardon?" Anton growled.

"You actually thought you had what it takes to be a gargoyle!?" She laughed. "You don't even have what it takes to be a man! What kind if a man hides behind a pregnant woman?"

"One with nothing to lose." Anton replied in an angry tone. "Don't anger me Siren."

"Or what?" She asked in detain for him. "You'll kill me? You're going to do that anyway!" Her scathing words must have gotten to him, as the knife that he held close to her neck began to shake. He must have gotten so angry, that he didn't realize that knife was no longer pressed right up against her neck. Though it was still dangerously close. She originally wanted to stand up for herself, before he killed her. But now she had an opportunity to escape.

"Stop pissing me off!" Anton cried, as she could feel his body begin to tremble. This was now her opportunity.

"Remember when we first met, Anton?" She asked.

"Of course." He growled.

"Well then you'll remember this!" She cried. Cali then elbowed him in his rib cage. This caused him to release her, as he made a loud "oof" sound. Anton then doubled over, as he dropped the knife. Crying, Cali ran into Gabriel's arms.

"Songbird!" He cried, as he embraced her within his arms. "I was afraid I had lost you!" She looked up at him and smiled. There were tears within his eyes, as he also gave her a loving smile. All of a sudden, there was the sound of a gun being cocked. As Cali turned around, she saw Rosy pointing a gun at Anton.

"Don't even think about standing up!" Rosy cried. "You are going to die on the floor like the dog you are!"

"What are you doing Rosy?" Gabriel asked, as there was fear in his eyes.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't?" Rosy angrily replied, as her eyes stayed fixated on Anton.

"Go ahead!" Anton sneered as he looked up at her. "It's in your Esposito blood! Once a killer, always a killer."

"That's why!" Gabriel proclaimed. "You yourself said I changed when I killed out of vengeance. I don't want you to become a killer like me. And I sure as hell don't want you to become a killer like him!"

"But he gave me to that bastard!" Rosy cried. "He knew Victor was going to rape me, but he didn't care. So why should I give a damn about what happens to him?"

"You shouldn't." Gabriel replied. "But your killing him isn't the answer. Rosy you do this, and you will forever hate yourself. Is he really worth that? Is he really worth destroying yourself? Please Rosy, just as you hated losing the man that I once was. Please, I would hate to lose the woman that is my sister."

Tears came to Rosy's eyes, as the gun began to shake in her hands. She then looked at Gabriel, as he extend his hand.

"Give me the gun Rosy" Gabriel said to her in a calm, and reassuring voice. She placed her head down, and nodded. She then walked over, and gave him the gun.

"I'm so sorry!" She cried. All of a sudden, the gunshots that could be heard in the distance, seemed to be getting closer.

"We need to get Rosalina, and Calliope out of here." Stated Vincent as he still had his guns pointed at Anton.

"Agreed." Gabriel replied.

"What about him!" Vincent asked, as he moved his head in Anton's direction.

"We'll decide later." Gabriel told him. "Let's just get him out of here."

"Stand up!" Vincent ordered Anton. He looked at Vincent, as he gave him an evil smile, he slowly made his way up off the ground. Without warning, he at charged Vincent. But before he could attack, Vincent shot him right in the chest. Both Cali and Rosy screamed as everyone, including Anton had a shocked look upon there faces. Anton dropped to his knees, and looked down at his bloodstained shirt. He them looked back up at Vincent, and flashed him an evil smile.

"Once a killer, always a killer." Anton sneered, as his smile began to fade. He took one last breath, as his lifeless body collapsed forward onto the floor.

"I-I didn't have a choice!" Vincent cried, as tears started to well up in his eyes. "I'm sorry! I failed him, it's my fault he turned out that way. Just as it's my fault that Cali had suffered all those years. I ruined two children's lives! All because of a stupid oath that I made to two different demon men! I have to make this right!"

Completely out of the blue, Vincent placed the barrel of the gun against his abdomen and fired. Cali screamed in horror as soon as he had fired the gun. As he began to fall, Gabriel caught him before he hit the ground. Vincents body was shaking, as he struggled to breathe.

Vincent then turned his head, and looked towards Cali. "I am so sorry I hurt you Cali!" There was a pleading look with in his eyes, begging for her forgiveness. She looked at the broken man that she had once had dearly love. But in truth, all she could see were the same sorrowful eyes of the one who had killed her parents.

"Why old man?" Gabriel cried.

"Th-this is my last gift to Cali." Vincent replied as he struggled to breathe. "Pl-please take my heart. Than-than the two of you can have a normal life together. I-I too have read your father's notes. You won't look like me as I do now, you will look like me when I was you age." He then cough as he let out a slight chuckle. "I was quite the handsome devil back then."

"I can't do that old man!" Gabriel explained, as he profusely began to cry.

"If you don't." He replied. "Then I will have died in vane. It's too late to save me."

Gabriel then looked up at Cali, and Rosy. "Turn away!" He demanded. Both of them complied. Cali didn't know what to think. She knew that if Gabriel didn't do it, then Vincent would have killed himself for no reason. She also knew that this would be his chance to live a normal life again, but it still was gruesome.

As she heard the gun fire that was happening in the distance, she wasn't even sure that she wanted to be with Gabriel. If she stay with him, her daughter's life could always be in danger. And the truth was, she wasn't sure she could love a man with Vincent's face? Could she truly love the man with the same face, as the one who had killed her parents?

All of a sudden she heard, Vincent scream in agony! She became horrified as she could hear bones breaking. It sounded like someone was being eaten alive by a creature in a horror movie. Then she soon heard Gabriel roar. As she and Rosy turned around, she saw what was left of the man she once knew as "Uncle Sal". Cali looked up at Gabriel, but he was still in gargoyle form. However his mouth, and chin were covered in blood. Needless to say, this was more than startling.

"We have to leave now!" Gabriel proclaimed. He then began to usher both her, and Rosy out of the operating room. Chaos between the Esposito guards, and the Sabino guards was running rampant through out the building. It looked as though no one could tell who was fighting for who anymore.

Gabriel wrapped each arm, and each wing around both Cali and Rosy. He was obviously trying to shield them as bullies were flying everywhere. Cali could hear Gabriel growl whenever the bullets hit him. But he acted as if they were more or less a painful annoyance. He was using his body to protect them.

Out of nowhere, Cali could smell smoke. She had no idea how it happened, but somehow a fire had gotten started. Gabriel's wings could shield them from bullets, but not smoke inhalation. All of the gun fire soon stopped as, Cali just figured that everyone was just looking for a way out of the building.

"I have to get the two of you out of here!" Gabriel yelled. He then grabbed each of their wrists, as they all ran down the hall. Hopefully, Gabriel would remember where the entrance to the building was. They eventually came to a door, but it was locked.

"This is the way out!" Gabriel explained.

"How do you now?" Cried Rosy.

"I have a heightened sense of smell remember?" He asked. "I can smell the outdoors on the other side! I can even smell it with the building billowing up with smoke!"

"But the door locked!" Rosy exclaimed.

"Not for long!" Gabriel roared. Gabriel stuck his claws into the steel door. Then with what looked like all of his might, he ripped the door right off of its frame. Sure enough, freedom was on the other side. The three of them began to run, out the door, away from the burning building.

"We have to keep running!" Gabriel proclaimed. "I was able to use my wings to protect you, but they are going to take a while to heal. Otherwise I would fly us right out of here!"

As they kept running, Cali just looked forward. she had no desire to look back. Then, all of a sudden, there a mass explosion. Whatever had started the fire, ended up causing some sort of a chain reaction. It rocked the earth below them, and all three of them fell to the ground. As they went down, Gabriel had once again used his wings to cover them.

"Are you guys alright?' He asked.

"I'm fine?' Cali replied. "Rosy?"

"I'm fine too." Said Rosy, as she turned her head, and face the explosion. "Oh my god!" She exclaimed.

"How about you Gabe-?" Cali started to ask. But as she looked at his face, it was covered in blood. She had forgotten about what he had done, and found the idea horrible, despite the fact that it was Vincent's dying wish. She took her hand, and wiped off some of the blood. She then looked at the blood that was now on her fingers.

"You actually did it." She said as she continued to stare at her blood stain fingers. "You ate his heart. I mean I heard you do it. But I guess it's more real to me, when I actually see the blood around your mouth."

"I would be lying, if I said I didn't like the idea of being able to be human again." He told her. "But I swear to you Songbird, I wouldn't have done it if it hadn't been his dying wish.

"I know." She replied as she looked into his gargoyle eyes. As she did, she did not see the eyes of a monster. She saw the eyes of someone who was begging for her to love him, no matter what.

"I can't forgive him for what he did." She told Gabriel, as she couldn't help but feel guilty. "Do you think that make me horrible?"

"No." Gabriel replied. "I think it makes you human."

"Despite the fact that I can't forgive him." She said. "I do pray that God does."

"Songbird." Gabriel began as he sighed. "I am my own person. My eating his heart has not changed who I am. But I do have his memories now, including his memories of you. And I can assure you that he loved you unconditionally. Vincent Salvatore was once one of the most feared mafia killers, of all time. But you softened his heart. You softened a heart as cold as stone."

"And I loved my Uncle Sal!" She cried, as she burst into tears. "But just as much as I loved the man known to me as Salvador Russo, I hated the man known as Vincent Salvatore!"

Gabriel then wrapped his arm around, and held her tight, in a caring embrace. As he held her close to him, she felt warm and safe. She did not feel as though she was in the arms of a monster. She felt as though she was in the arms of her savior.

"I will always protect you!" He whispered. As Cali pulled away from him, she looked into his eyes and smiled. She slowly pulled away, and noticed that Rosy was still watching the building burn. There was little to no emotion on Rosy's face.

"Are you alright, Rosy?' She asked, as she couldn't help but feel concerned.

"Do you both think that I'm horrible, because I hope Victor didn't survive?" Rosy asked as she continued her emotionless stare towards the large fire.

"Of course not." Gabriel replied. "No one could blame you. He was a horrible man. Besides you're my sister, and the four of us are going to be a family." He smiled as he place his hand on Cali's belly. But his smile soon faded, as he looked back into Cali's eyes. Once again she could see his tears begin to form.

"That is if you'll have me." He added. "Am I really any better than Anton, Victor, Vincent, even my own father, or any of them? I am a killer just like them. As anton said, 'once a killer, always a killer.' If you both decide to leave me, I will understand. I love you both, as well as my unborn daughter, more than anything in this world. I love you all so much. I will let the three of you go, if that is what you wish.

Cali looked into his pleading eyes. "That all depends." She told him. "Are you willing to give your life to me?"

"Songbird?" Gabriel exclaimed as he had a look of confusion. "You know I would die for you!"

"That's not what I asked." She explained. "That truly would be a waste. I asked if you would give me your life. That means your life would belong to me. I won't live in this mafia world, Gabriel, and my daughter won't either. And I don't want any son of mine being any a part of, or running some mafia empire. If you want us to be a family, than you must agree to give up your mafia empire. And you must promise that our children will never be a part of the underworld. So I am asking one more time, Gabriel Esposito. Will you give your life to me?"
