"How long have you known?" Vincent asked as he stared down his former pupil.
"Since that day when Gabriel came by to collect his payment from you." He replied with the same smug look apron his face. "I saw it in your eyes. I could never forget the one who made me what I am today."
Rosalina stared at Vincent, as she held a look of confusion in her eyes.
"What are you both talking about?" She asked.
"Don't you recognize your father's original right hand man!' Anton replied before Vincent had a chance to answer her. She began to stare into Vincent's eyes, as if she was studying him. Her eyes soon widened, as if she made some sort of realization.
"Oh my god!" She cried. "It is you! I only saw you a few times when I was a child. But the look in your eyes used to always frighten me. I could never forget it."
"Once a killer, always a killer." Anton sneered. "I guess you couldn't help but kill the man that hurt Cali. Not that I could blame you. Like Gabriel, you tried to deny your true nature. Just as you tried to deny me my true nature. You knew who I was the whole time, but you never let me know the truth! I am the true heir, and the reason my father searched for his new empire. You saw how I had suffered as a child, how neglected I felt! I thought I was an orphan who's only purpose in life was to be a trained killer, a servant to an ungrateful master! When it was I, who should have been the master!"
"I had sworn an oath!" Vincent replied. "I had pledged my life to your father!"
"Yes, you did!" Anton replied. "And as my father's right hand man, you kept your word. You didn't betray him because of me. But you did betray him because of Cali! Although, I guess I can't blame you for that. After all, as I already told her, she is an enchantress. My tearful eyes, that you had seen many times, couldn't break you stone cold heart. But her's did."
"Wait!" Cried Rosalina. "Was Victor telling the truth? Are you really my brother!"
"That's right my dear sister." Anton replied. "I was the stillborn son of the gargoyle king, and the medieval princess." He then looked down at Victor's unconscious body on the floor. As his looked back up at Rosalina and Vincent, he gave them a wicked smile.
"I think I'll just leave him there for a while." Anton told them. "Unfortunately I need him alive, at least for now."
"I knew you would eventually try and betray him." Rosalina spat. "The Esposito's, and Sabino's were never going to form a lasting alliance. What if I tell him the truth?" Anton just began to laugh.

"Either he's already figured that out, or he's too stupid to even believe you!" Anton replied. "Besides, do you honestly think that he isn't planning on betraying me? Well, I have an ace up my sleeve. He doesn't know that I'm a gargoyle."
"But your mother absorbed all of your gargoyle DNA!" Rosalina exclaimed. "You're not a gargoyle either!"
Anton just looked at her, and smiled. "But I soon will be."

Gabriel had made his way to Anton's secret location. He was still taken aback by all that he had just learned. The old man actually being Vincent Salvatore, and Anton being the brother that he thought had died during childbirth. He really couldn't blame Anton for being angry. Yet he could not for give him for threatening his beloved, his sister, or his unborn daughter.
Gabriel hid in a tree, as he remained in the shadows. He sat there, observing the compound as it was being patrolled by guards. He didn't recognize any of them. Where had all these men come form anyway? How did he not know about this place? What all had Anton been hiding from him? Was there another warring family that he had not been made aware of, or was all of this what was left of the Sabinos? It was the Sabinos that attacked them that night at the restaurant, but maybe that was just what Anton had told him.
Hopefully, the old man's plan would work. The old man was supposed to find a way in, and rescue Rosy. Thereby helping Gabriel find a way in. Then, with Rosy being safely escorted from the building. That would leave Gabriel his chance to find Cali. The old man had told him that Anton would have kept them separate. That way it would be more difficult for Gabriel to sneak in, and rescue both of them. That's why the old man went in first, to make it easier for Gabriel to find Cali. Then after he was sure both of them were safe, Gabriel would then personally deal with Anton.
If did not work, then he wasn't quite sure what he was going to do. All he cared about was saving those he loved. If the old man's plan failed, Gabriel was ready to die, if that's what Anton wanted. But then again, he was pretty sure that Anton could not be trusted to keep his word. If he had to, he would kill himself along with Anton.
All of a sudden his phone rang, it was the old man's number. This was what he had been waiting for, to hear that Rosy was out of harms way. However, as he answered the phone, he was soon disappointed.
"Hello, brother!" Anton stated when answered the phone, in a condescending voice. "It seemed you underestimated me. On top of Rosy, and your pregnant little songbird, I now have another hostage. How kind of you to reunite me with my old mentor. I should kill both him, and Rosy for your disobeying me. I warned you to come alone. But I must admit, our little game just got even more interesting. Perhaps you didn't recognize Vincent upon seeing him two months ago, but I did. And I knew you would ask for his help."

"What do you want?" Gabriel growled.
"Why my brother's love of course." Anton replied in a sarcastically sweet tone. "We're finally going to have a family reunion, but this time you will come alone. Or I may have to blow our pretty little sister's brains out. Now you really don't want me to do that. You know how fussy that spoiled little bitch can be about her looks. Be here in five minutes, alone! Or Rosy's blood shall be on your hands!"
Anton hung up the phone before Gabriel could even reply. He then roared in anger, as he threw the phone against the ground. Brother or not, Anton was going to die!

Rosalina, Vincent, and Calliope, had been moved to what looked like an operating room. Rosy had told Cali everything that had happened, including her uncle's true identity. They were each sitting down, but this time they weren't being restrained to their chairs. It wouldn't have made any difference anyway. They were surrounded by ten armed guards. There was no chance of escape.
"I can't believe you lied to me all of these years!" Cali cried as she looked at Vincent.
"I'm sorry." Vincent replied. "But I had to get you out of that hellhole, I had to make it right. Would you have come with me if I had told you the truth?"
"YOU KILLED MY PARENTS! YOU BASTARD!" She exclaimed. "What the hell do you think?"
"And that is why I had to lie to you." He told her.
"I don't care if you saved me from the hell that was my life!" She cried again. "I will never forgive."
"I don't expect you to." He replied, as his face held no emotion. "But I just want you to know. I couldn't have loved you anymore, even if you really had been a member of my family. As far as I was concerned, you were more than my niece. You were my daughter, and you also made me realize that there was true beauty in the world. I became what I was, because I was a poor cynical boy that grew up on the streets of Palermo. I thought the mafia was the only opportunity I had. But you showed me that I was wrong. Perhaps Anton was right, perhaps you are an enchantress. You do seem to bring the best out in people. You brought out the best in me."
"I'm very happy for you." She replied sarcastically. "But now you are seeming to bring out the worst in me. As far as I'm concerned, you've killed every family member I ever loved. Both of my parents, and my Uncle Sal. Because as far as I'm concerned, he is dead to me, just as they are. In my eyes, you murdered him as well. Maybe he wasn't a real person to you, but he was to me!"
"Well I must admit, this is quite an entertaining show." Anton said with an amused look upon his face. "Our little family reunion is almost complete. Let's see. We have the man who was practically a father to both Cali, and me. We have my long lost sister, who's fiancé is still out cold. You must have hit him pretty hard Vincent. Don't worry sis, your husband to be will soon recover. Than you two love birds can begin your honeymoon. And last, but not least, my beautiful bride to be. Who is carrying my niece, soon to be daughter. Because I will be the only one she will call, 'Daddy.' But don't worry. She will soon have plenty of human sisters, and gargoyle brothers to keep her company. And unlike Gabriel, I will live out my father's dream."
"What are you talking about?" Rosalina asked as she looked just as confused as everyone else.
"Revenge against humanity." Anton informed her. "For our grandfather's attempted genocide against my species."
"Your species!" Rosalina exclaimed. "Your just as human as I am!"
"But I wasn't supposed to be!" Anton yelled in anger. "And soon I shall became the gargoyle, that I was always meant to be!"
"You're insane!" Rosalina declared.
"Maybe." Anton replied. "But as of now, I am the one with all of the power. And as soon as our final family member arrives. We can finally get our reunion started."
All of a sudden they could hear what sounded like a lions roar. Shots were being fired, and the sound of men screaming in terror permeated throughout the compound. They could also hear the sounds of heavy metal door being ripped from doorways.
"ANTON!" Gabriel had roared as the could hear him getting closer. "I swear I've come to kill you!"
"Ah, it seems he's taken the more direct approach." Said Anton with a triumphant smirk upon his face. "I see our guest of honor has finally arrived."

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.
