Gabriel awoke from his sleep, as he was still laying on the bed of hay. He smiled, as he slowly opened his wings. Just the thought of seeing her beautiful smiling face upon waking, made his heart flutter. But as his wings opened, she wasn't there. As he looked around the stable, she was nowhere to be found.

"Songbird!" He cried. Where the hell is she?

"Songbird!" He cried again, but there was no answer. Now he began to panic. If anything had happened to her. He rushed outside, and to his relief, there she was looking absolutely breathtaking. Cali had a horse blanket wrapped around her naked body. She was singing to her black stallion, while gently stroking his snout. The horse, itself a wild beast in it's own right, seemed to be enchanted by her siren's spell.

"There you are, Songbird." He said, as he breathed a sigh of relief. "I was wondering where you were. You almost gave me a heart attack."

"I'm sorry." She replied with a sweet smile. "I heard him whinny this morning, and it woke me up. I guess I wanted to check on him, make sure he's okay."

"Oh." Gabriel replied as he stayed inside the stable door. He didn't want to scare the horse. It was afraid of him when he had a human form. But the animal would probably be even more terrified of his gargoyle form.

"Why are you hiding?" She asked as she gave him a look of confusion. Cali then made her way over to him.

"I don't want to scare him." He replied. "If he didn't like my human form, I doubt he'll like this one."

"Nonsense!" She laughed. "Come here." She said as she gently took his hand, and lead him over to the horse.

"Both of you have been miscategorised as a wild beast." She told him. "But you both have a gentle soul. Go on, pet him."

Gabriel reached out to the horse, but it started to act restless. It then vocally let Gabriel know that it didn't want him touching it.

"He doesn't like me." Gabriel said feeling dejected. "He's afraid of me. Who could blame him? Even when I was in human form, I tried to break him through conditioning. But now I'm a permanent monster. I'm even worse in his eyes."

Gabriel began to turn away, but Cali grabbed his wrist. "Try again." She commanded with a loving smile, as she continued to grasp his wrist. Cali then brought his hand up towards the horse's snout. It started whinny again, as Gabriel was certain that it wasn't going to work.

"Shh.." Said Cali to the horse reassuringly, as she placed her hand on the side of it's face. "It's okay, he's not going to hurt you. I promise." She then placed Gabriel's hand on the snout. At first the horse seemed hesitant, but she kept on reassuring him that Gabriel was not going to harm him. Finally the horse relented, and let Gabriel touch him. Even after awhile, Cali stopped touching the horse's face.

"I don't believe." Said an astounded Gabriel. "I never thought this horse would let me pet him like this.

Cali just looked at him, and smiled. "Well, maybe this is the first time he's ever gotten to know the real you."

"My god, Cali!" Cried Rosy. "You look beautiful!" They were at the bridal shop, as Cali was having a fitting for her wedding gown.

"What did I tell you?" Said Rosy. "Simple elegance is always the way to go. You never want to go trendy. The last thing you want is for people to look back on your wedding album, and laugh at how ridiculous everyone looks—especially the bride!"

"I guess it's kind of hard to have a big flashy wedding, when it's in secret." Said Cali.

"I don't think the world is quite ready for a gargoyle on the Society Page." Replied Rosy.

"I'm just glad the priest is willing to marry us." Said Cali. "I didn't know the church knew about gargoyles."

"Well, sure they do." Said Rosy. "Why do you think so many adorn so many Catholic Churches?"

"I was told they scared away evil spirts." Replied Cali, as she began to carefully remove the gown.

"True." Said Rosy. "But that was also how the church honored their memory. They wanted to give the fallen gargoyles a place of honor."

"Well, I'm glad someone honored them." Cali sighed. "No species deserves genocide"

"And Soon, Gabriel will no longer be the only one." Rosy said as she smiled. "If you become pregnant, and it's a boy, then there will be another one."

"Uh huh." Said Cali as she got dressed. She didn't want Rosy to know that the thought of having children frightened her. Marriage was one thing, but raising a child was something completely different. It was a responsibility that one didn't want to take lightly. Plus, what if it was a gargoyle? Could she even be a good mother to a human, let alone a gargoyle?

What if Gabriel wanted him to be part of the family business? She had witnessed her own parents being murdered, this was hardly the type of life she wanted for her children. It wasn't until Rosy mentioned it, that she even considered children. It must have rally started to bother her. Because all of a sudden, she started to feel queasy.

"Are you alright?" Asked Rosy as she looked concerned. "You're looking kind of pale right now."

"I'm, um, I'm fine." Replied Cali. "I'm just—I'm—oh my god!" All of a sudden her stomach was killing her, and she ran into the bathroom. She pushed the door open, and practically dove for the toilet. All of a sudden her entire breakfast came back up, as her stomach could not keep it down.

"Is everything alright, Miss?" The seamstress asked.

Where did she come from? Cali wondered.

"I think she needs a doctor." Said Rosy, as she frantically pulled out her phone. Cali turned around, and saw Rosy dialing the phone. She couldn't hear exactly what Rosy was saying, something about possible food poisoning. Was it just a coincidence, or where there some nefarious individuals involved? Had one of Gabriel's enemy's gotten to her?

"Oh my god Rosy!" Cali cried. "I feel sick!"

"Don't worry." Replied Rosy. "I called the clinic." Cali had trouble standing up as both the seamstress, and Rosy helped her back on her feet. She seemed to be going in and out of consciousnesses, as both women helped her to exit the store. She noticed the driver rushing to open the car door for her, but she was even sure she was going to make it.

All of a sudden, she became light headed, as everything started to go black. Before everything had completely dissipated around her, it felt as though her mind was leaving her body. As she completely began to slip into unconsciousness, she could hear Rosy whisper to her.

"Don't worry, it'll be alright."

Cali! What sounded like a voice inside her head. Cali can you hear me? Cali's eyes began to flutter, as she started to feel confused. Her vision was slowly coming into focus, as she should see bright lights.

"Cali, are you awake?" She heard a woman cry. As she opened her eyes, she could see Rosy standing over her. Rosy was holding her hand, and had a look of concern.

""W-what happened?" Cali asked as she felt completely disoriented.

"We we're finishing up at the bridal shop remember?" Rosy asked. "But you all of a sudden felt sick to your stomach, and then you fainted on the way to the car."

"Gabriel, where's Gabriel?" Cali asked as she slowly started to sit up on the gurney. It took some effort, but she was able to force herself. She had to get her bearings straight.

"Careful." Said Rosy. "You don't want to over do it. I can't get a hold of Gabe. I don't know where he is."

"Where are we?' Cali Asked.

"The clinic." Replied Rosy. "The doctor went ahead and took some blood sample, and ran some other tests."

"Blood samples?" Cried Cali. "Other tests, how long was I out?"

"Three hours." Replied Rosy.

"Three hours?'" Cali exclaimed as she was completely dumbfound. What the hell was going on with her? All of a sudden there was a knock.

"Miss Russo." A man inquired on the other side of the door.

"C-come in." Cali replied. The door open, and the same doctor, who had treated Gabriel that fateful, night walked in the room. Only this time he seemed to be in better spirits.

I hope this is a good sign.

"H-hello doctor." She replied. "Do-do you know what's wrong with me?" She could feel her own body begin to tremble a little, not sure if she actually wanted the answer. She was afraid it might be bad news. However, the doctor just looked at her, and smiled.

"Nothing's the matter with you Miss Russo." He said with a big goofy grin. "Congratulations! The rabbit died!"

Cali's was shocked to say the least. She could feel her own eyes widen, as Rosy's jaw practically hit the floor.

"What?" The both of them exclaimed in unison.

"That's right! You heard me correctly!" He told them. "Miss Russo is going to be a mother!"
