As the princess looked into the gargoyles eyes, she dropped the sword. He had won. There was noting else left for her, only her unborn child. Even if her son was not to be a human, she would still be his mother. She would still love him.

"What happens now?" She asked as she trembled before him. He looked at her, and smiled. He then gently placed his hands upon her shoulders.

"Don't be afraid my love." He said as he tried to give her a reassuring smile. "We're going to find a new kingdom. One in which our son shall reign as king."

"And where might that be?" She asked.

The gargoyle king laughed. "Not where my dear, when. We are going somewhere ahead in time. A time in which mankind, will no longer remember that gargoyles were real living beings."

"How?" She asked in confusion.

"You see my dear." The gargoyle king began to explain. "Not all gargoyles, that have turned to stone, were always ones that had died. A gargoyle can also turn to stone, if he willingly slumbers for hundreds of years. That my dear, is what we shall do."

"But I'm not a gargoyle!" She exclaimed. "I cannot do that!"

"But the child growing inside of you can." he explained. "You will be able to do so through both of us."

A wicked smile grew upon his face, as he proceeded to rip off her clothes.

"What are you doing?" She cried, as she was completely horrified by what he had just done.

"Now, now my dear." He replied with the same wicked smile. "We cannot exactly have clothing on a statue, now can we?"

"I'm frightened!" She cried.

"Do not worry my love." He whispered. "I shall hold you close to me the whole time. And when we wake up, it'll feel as though we just had a good night's sleep."

Cali couldn't believe her eyes. Standing over her was a gargoyle that had just rescued her. There he was in all his glory, coming to save her, just as she always hoped one would. She was in complete awe, as she reached for him. He looked at her puzzled, as if he wasn't expecting that sort of reaction.

He bent down, and gently scooped her up into his arms. She began to tremble, but not from fear. The air was chilly, and the dress that Rosalina had picked out for her left little to the imagination. The gargoyle sighed as he used his wings as a cape to cover her, and keep her warm.

"Why were you, and your friend, in a dark alley by yourselves?" He asked. "Even Parisian alleyways are not safe at night."

"We were-" she started to say. "Oh my god! Rosalina! Where is she? I have to find her!"

"I saw her get away." He told her. "I also saw her take out her phone. My guess is she's calling for help. I will stay with you, until it arrives."

"But, I thought you had come to take me away?" She replied. "I thought you came to save me?"

"I did save you." He replied. "But why would a woman like you, want to be with a beast like me?"

"But you're not a beast." She replied. "You're beautiful." She had never felt so warm, so safe, or so secure before in her life. She then reached up, and gently touched his face. Cali could feel the tears well up in her eyes, yet they were tears of joy. As she stared into his glowing blue eyes, she felt as though she was getting lost in a dream. But he just stared at her in confusion.

"Beautiful?" He replied, as he furrowed his brow. "Do you not find me hideous, as most humans's do? Do you not fear me as well? For it was not my intention for you to see me.

"But I have seen you." She replied. "And if I feared you, would I let you hold me so tenderly?"

The creature looked at her, and smiled. "You are so beautiful, my dear. So lovely." Once again their eyes locked, and like a magnet, they leaned into one another. They were about to share a passionate kiss. But right before their lips met, emergency sirens could soon be heard.

Immediately his head looked up. "I believe your friend has arrived with help. I'm afraid I must take my leave of you."

"No!" She whispered loudly. "Please don't go!"

"It's best this way." He replied in a solemn tone, as he gently lowered her to the ground.

He then bent down to whisper in her ear. "I will always protect you!" His hot breath against her ear was comforting, and his voice was soothing. Before she even realized it, she slipped had into unconsciousness. Soon the darkness took over her.

"Mademoiselle! Mademoiselle!" Cali heard a man cry, as she was coming out of her dream. She could also feel someone gently shaking her, as her eyes began to flutter. As she opened them, she could see a French police officer kneeling over her.

"I found her!" He cried as he turned to look behind him. "I found her! She's over here!"

"Oh thank god!" She heard a woman cry. "If anything had ever happened to her! I'd never forgive myself!"

As Cali looked up, she could see Rosalina running towards her. Cali then looked for the for the body, of the man who had attacked her. But just like the gargoyle, he was gone without a trace.

"Are you alright?" Rosalina cried, as she had a look of concern upon her face. She threw her arms around Cali. "I am so sorry about what happened to you!"

"I-I'm fine." Cali replied as she could feel herself begin to wake up more. "I must have had a weird dream. What happened? Were's the body of the man who attacked me?"

"There's no body here." The officer replied. "Miss Esposito told us about the two men who came after the both of you, but we can't seem to find them anywhere. And without someone being able to identify them, I'm afraid there isn't much we can do. We asked the bartender, from the nightclub, you were at earlier. But he said he had never seen them before tonight."

"But they were chasing me." Cali replied. "They tripped me, that's what made me fall."

"Did they hurt you?" The officer asked.

"No." Cali replied. "They were about to, but then-." Cali stopped herself from continuing. If she had told them that a gargoyle had saved her, they might decide to lock her away.

"You know what?" She began. "Never mind. I probably just fainted. I probably just dreamed the whole thing."

"Come mademoiselle." The officer said to her. "Let's get you up off this dirty ground of the alleyway. Another officer made his way over. Each of the took her hands, and gently grasped her elbows. With that they slowly helped her back up upon her feet."

"Are you okay to stand?" The officer asked her.

"Yes thank you." Cali replied with a smile." She looked at Rosalina, who was still crying.

"I'm just glad you're alright." Rosalina cried.

"I'm just glad you're alright as well." Cali replied as she was also feeling teary eyed. With that, they threw their arms around one another, and shared a caring embrace.

"Well, I'm just glad you are both okay." The officer replied. "A lot of these situations don't always have happy endings. Do either of you need to go to the hospital?"

"I think I just want to go back to the hotel." Cali stated.

"Same here." Said Rosalina.

"I'll take it from here, officer!" A stern masculine voice exclaimed. Both Cali, and Rosalina turned to look towards where the voice was coming from. Cali couldn't believe it, and was frighten now more that ever.

How did he get here so quickly?

Standing before them, with a look of seething rage, was Gabriel. Cali was terrified. What was he going to do to them? What was he going to do to her uncle?"

"Anton!" Gabriel ordered. "Please escort my sister, and my fiancé to the car. And don't let them out of your sight! I have some business to finish up with these officers here!"

"Yes sir!" Anton replied stoically. "This way ladies! He gestured towards the car, and bowed towards them. As they walked towards the car, Cali started to cry. What horrible things might he have in store for them? Then again Rosalina was his sister, he'd probably never hurt her. But Cali wasn't sure how safe she was.

All of a sudden she had a horrible thought of Gabriel shooting her uncle, or worse. Maybe he might torture her uncle to death, and make her watch. As they sat in the car, she felt sick to her stomach. More then anything she wanted the gargoyle to return. Being hopeful, she looked out the window. But all she saw was Gabriel giving fistfuls of Euros to the officers. Was he bribing them?

It was at that moment that she realized that the gargoyle wasn't coming to save her, even though he promised to always protect her right before her mind fell into darkness. She remembered it was the last thing he promised her. Maybe it was just a dream.

She then felt Rosalina place her hand on her shoulder. "It'll be alright, I promise."

"I'm scared!" Cali cried as she turned to look at her.

"I know." Rosalina replied. "But deep down my brother is a caring, and loving person."

With that the door swung open, and Gabriel looked at the both of them with burning rage.

"YOU TWO! ARE NEVER LEAVING MY SIGHT AGAIN!" He exclaimed as he pointed at them with a look of anger. "I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK IF I HAVE TO CHAIN THE BOTH OF YOU TO MY SIDE FOR THE REST OF OUR NATURAL LIVES!"

Rosalina sighed, and folded her arms. "And other times he can be a real dick."
