The princes didn't now who she feared more. Her father who just tried to kill her, or the gargoyle who had raped and claimed her. She screamed as she watched the gargoyle king break her father's arm. And yet she knew he did it to save her life.
"And now your majesty." The gargoyle king stated with an evil grin upon his face. "It is time to pay for all of your sins."
The king's eyes widened in terror, as his gargoyle counterpart wrapped his massive hands around the king's neck. The princess was horrified, as she watched her father being lifted off the ground. Despite the fact that he just tried to kill her, it was still hard to see him suffer.
"Please stop!" She cried. "At least show him that you are better than him! At least show him some mercy!"
"Very well." Replied the gargoyle king, rather nonchalantly. "Mercy it shall be."
All of as sudden the gargoyle king's face harden. To the princess's horror, he ripped her father's head off of his body. She cried out, even more horrified as blood began spraying everywhere. Yet all the gargoyle king did was laugh.
With that, she noticed her father's sword on the floor, and grabbed it as quickly as she could. She then pointed it at the gargoyle king. It was heavy, as her arms trembled from both fear, as well as the weight of the sword.
"St-stay, stay away from me!" She exclaimed in fear.
Once again the gargoyle king just laughed. "Go ahead and kill me. Then just see how society treats an unmarried woman, who give birth to a gargoyle child. Despite how you feel about me at this moment, deep down I know you. A lot better than you think. You will do anything protect your unborn child, even if he is to be a gargoyle. Without me to protect the both of you, people will think you are a consort of the devil. They will believe that he is a demon, and kill you both. Maybe at this moment, you don't care whether or not you live or die. But I know one thing my beloved, you do care about your unborn son."

Cali was exhausted, as she and Rosalina kept walking from store to store. They had been shopping for hours. Where did Rosalina get all of her energy? She was sure that they had conquered every high end boutique in Paris. What was even more surprising was how easy it was to spend so much money, so quickly.
Plus it wasn't even their money, it was Gabriel's. What even added to all of the craziness, was being followed by an entourage of men in dark suits the whole time.

"Are you okay?" Rosalina asked her.
"I-I'm fine." Cali replied. "I just hope we didn't over do it. I'm used to going to a department store, and maybe spending a hundred dollars at the most. But we've spent almost fifty thousand euros. I just hope we don't anger your brother."
"Oh honey!" Rosalina chuckled. "This is nothing! Wait until we start planning the wedding. Believe me, my brother will want it to be the social event of the year. Besides, wasn't he the one who threw out all of your clothes? He's the one who expects the woman on his arm to dress a certain way. So, let's just say were meeting his expectations."
"It just seems like a lot." Said Cali. "I guess I'm not used to this."
"Wait until we hit the jewelry stores tomorrow." Rosalina said with a wicked smile. "Believe me, if Gabriel wanted you to stay within a budget, he wouldn't have sent you shopping with me."
"Well I suppose that's one way to look at it." Replied Cali. "Wait a minute, did you say jewelry stores?"
"Of course." Said Rosalina. "You're going to need a tiara, for your wedding."
All of a sudden, Cali started to feel queasy. Even though she was enjoying spending time with his sister, the thought of forcefully marrying Gabriel brought her back to the reality of the situation. Cali couldn't think of anyway out of it, and it was starting to frighten her again. Shopping for the wedding, was just something she couldn't deal with at the moment.
She just stopped, and all of a sudden dropped her bags, while Rosalina kept walking. Cali started to feel numb, as if she just couldn't go on any longer. Rosalina turned around and looked back at her, furrowing her brow. She then ran back over to her.
"Are you feeling okay?" Asked Rosalina with a concerned look upon her face. "You look pale."
"I think I just feel overwhelmed right now." Cali replied. "I think I need to go lay down."
"Okay, we'll go to the hotel so you can rest." Said Rosalina as she looked even ore concerned. "Victor!"
"Yes Miss Esposito." Victor replied attentively.
"I think we are going to stop for the day." Rosalina informed him, as she placed her arm around Cali. "My brother's-I mean Cali doesn't seem to be feeling well."
Cali became light headed, when she realized that Rosalina almost said brother's fiancé. That seemed to be what pushed her over the edge. She became faint, as she could feel her eyes roll back into her head. Her mind just completely shut down, as everything went black.

That damn brother of mine! Thought Rosalina as she looked over the balcony of the penthouse suite. If only people knew the real you, like I do. Than this woman could easily fall in love with you. But all anyone sees is the monster that you have become. And that dear brother, includes you. I'm just glad Victor was there to catch her, before her head hit the pavement.
She thought about calling Gabe, and giving him a piece of her mind. But the truth was she was too angry to talk to him. He had asked her to take Cali shopping, to find clothes befitting of her. But what he really meant was to find clothes befitting of his future wife. Her Gabe would have found that completely appalling. But as he told her, that man had died two year ago. But she was still hopeful that Cali could be the one to resurrect him.
She looked out over the city of lights, and sighed. "I have an amazing view, of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And yet all it is, is a view."
True, she had plenty of money, and didn't have to work. But she was nothing more than a prisoner in a gilded cage. She needed to go out, she needed a drink. Hell, if anyone needed a drink it was Cali. A smile soon kept upon her face, as she made her way to Cali's room.
"Cali!" She called as she knocked on the door. She then slowly opened it, as she didn't want to frighten the poor girl.
"What-what"s going on?" Asked Cali who seemed a bit confused. "Where? Where am I?"
"We're in Paris." Rosalina replied. "We're in the penthouse suite of top rated hotel. You became faint, and passed out. Fortunately, Victor was able to catch you."
"Oh my god!" Cried Cali. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin your day."
"Why are you sorry?" Rosalina chuckled. "I'm the one who pushed you too far. I feel like it's my fault. We should probably get some food in you. Why don't you get in the shower, and I'll get us a table at a five star restaurant somewhere. Actually, with the twelve of us, it's going to be quite a few tables."
Don't worry Cali. Rosalina thought. Tonight will be a night we both need. We just won't tell Gabe.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Cali couldn't believe how amazing the restaurant actually was. Not only was the food incredible, but the ambience unbelievable as well. Plus the service seemed to be over the top. Of course it probably didn't hurt that she was having dinner with the sister of the mafia king. Just how powerful was Gabriel?
"Um, I have to go powder my nose." Rosalina all of a sudden announced. "Um, Cali could you come with me? You know us girls, always having to go to the ladies room in pairs."
"Okay, sure." Cali replied, as she stood up to go with her. At that moment, Victor also stood up as well.
"Sorry, Victor." Rosalina told him. "They don't allow men in the ladies room."
"Your brother left strict instructions not to let you two out of my sight." Victor responded.
"Fine." Rosalina replied. "Then I'll just tell him how you watched us take a piss. I'm sure he would be completely fine with that."
Victor sighed. "Fine, but don't take too long. If your not back in five minutes, I'm coming in."
"That's all we need." Rosalina replied with a smile. With that Cali followed Rosalina towards the bathroom, only she seemed to be walking past it.
"Wait." Said Cali. "The bathroom's right there."
"Shh." Whispered Rosalina, as she place her index finger to her own lips. "We're not going to the bathroom, we're sneaking out. You and I both need a girls night out, away from these goons, and away from my brother."
"But I can't risk it." Whispered Cali, surprised by what Rosalina just said. "If you're brother finds out, he'll kill my uncle. Surely Victor will tell him that we are missing."
"I sneak out all the time." Said Rosalina. "It's the only thing that keeps me sane. Besides, Victor wouldn't dare say anything. My brother would have his head, literally."
"Oh my god! Cried Cali. "I can't be responsible for that!"
"It's okay, I promise." Said Rosalina. "It'll only be for an hour. I just want to get a drink, away from goon squad."
Even though deep down, Cali couldn't help but think they were about to make a huge mistake, Rosalina had been so nice to her. Plus she felt like she needed a breather as well. And Rosalina had a confidence about her, that made Cali want to follow her.
"Okay." Cali as she smiled out her. "But just for an hour."
"Only one hour, I promise." Rosalina replied, as she put her arm around her. "Come on, let's go get a much needed drink."

Milton
A Cyberpunk Coming of Age Tale The Apocalypse is ugly. The only lights that work are battery powered or neon. Scroungers kill your neighbors and take control of their bodies. For Milton, things changed for the better. The world became familiar. He could find loot, learn skills, and equip weapons and armor. Then he discovers Ragnarok, Orchestrator of the Rainbow Letters and all of Milton’s problems. The race to figure out why is on. If Milton is to survive long enough to find answers, he must first be strong enough to confront his worst enemy: himself. * This is work in progress and NOT professionally edited. * ** This story is humorous in the begining, but gets very dark around the turning point. Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.

The Arcane Prince
Book 1 is complete and fully posted here on RoyalRoad. The story is on break as I work on Book 2, which will be posted once I have finished writing it. Max is a twelve-year-old boy from the slums who dreams of seeing the world, learning magic, and adventure. On the same day that Max learns his first spell, he meets Colt, a noble-born lad on his own path to power. Colt is kind. Oblivious to the world, but kind. By his grace, Max begins to learn under Colt's instructor, even hunting monsters in the forests to the north. Max is talented and grows in power quickly, but as he prepares for the first of his adventures, the kingdom faces the greatest threat in centuries. Posting Schedule: Every 3 days until the end of Book 1 (Chapter 45). IMPORTANT NOTES: 1) This is a story about an OP boy doing OP boy things. By the end of Book 1, there will be few fights that he struggles with, and he will rarely, if ever, find his life in peril. 2) This is a slice-of-life and adventure story, which means that there will be periods of chapters without any action or conflict, but also periods of chapters with battles and exploration/adventure (the latter mostly being Book 2+). 3) There will be NO petty squabbles or conflicts going on in this story, because it is meant to be a fun one, not a high-tension, drama-filled story. So it will NOT be that. If you want lots of action or lots of conflict, then find another story to read because this isn't it. 4) There will never be an overarching evil/villain/conflict to deal with in this story past Book 1. Ever. 5) Book 1 is entirely written and can be considered a standalone story on its own. Right now, the story may last 2-3 books, or it may last 7-10 books. It is guaranteed to make it through Book 2 or 3, and if I decide to go with the bigger journey I have planned after that, then it will be longer. There will be a several-month wait between Book 1 and Book 2. 6) The story contains the sexual content tag, but it will not contain any unless Max and his future boyfriend reach 18+ years of age in-story. If I decide to bring the story to a conclusion with Book 2 or 3, or they never reach that age in the full story for the long journey, then I will remove the tag. 7) There are currently absolutely no plans to make this story into a harem if I write the extended story. If I write the extended story and decide at some point to make it one, then I will add the appropriate tag and inform readers of this decision. However, there are currently zero plans to make it one. 8) This story takes place in its own story universe, with its own rules. Please keep that in mind when reading it and other stories.
