《Animalistic Desires》HTW Part 5

"What do you mean everything is covered in cobwebs?", asked Alan.
"I mean there isn't any part of the car's undercarriage that is free of webbing." Said Scott. "This shit is really strong too. I don't know how, but it squeezed the tire to the point that it exploded. This is why we have a flat."
"Maybe it's the spider cult." Replied Alan as he began to laugh.
"That's not funny dip-wad!" Cried Zoe. "I don't know what's going on, but I don't like it!"
"This is all my fault." Said Angela. She just stood there, with a glazed look upon her face. She looked pale, as she seemed to be staring at the car. Yet it was almost as if she were looking rating through it.
"How is it your fault?", asked Scott.
"I don't know." replied Angela. "I just know that it has something to do with my losing that woman's pet spider. I just have a feeling, I guess. She warned me that we were all doomed, and that I deserved what was going to happen to me. However she didn't mention exactly what that would be, but she was murdered. Not only that, but we're stranded in the middle of nowhere. There seems to be on common denominator—cobwebs."
"So what are you saying?" Asked Scott. "You think her pet spider did this? I doubt it was that strong."
"Yes, no, I don't know what to believe." Said a frustrated Angela. "All I know is that there is no logical explanation for any of this, and right now the most likely explanation is impossible. So you know what, I don't know what to believe. I just know we're trapped right now, and somehow, I'm responsible."
"Really Angela, quit being so mellow dramatic." Scoffed Alan. "If the world blew up tomorrow, you'd apologize for it."
"Why are you being such an asshole lately?" Exclaimed Cara.
"What do you mean?", asked Alan.
"You're just do quick to judge everyone else." She replied. "I'm self evolved, Angela's mellow dramatic, and you keep scaring Zoe with your creepy spider cult stories. Why don't you take a look at yourself for a change? What's your major flaw?"
"Apparently I have terrible taste in woman!", he snapped. "I guess I have a thing for spoiled bitches!"
"GO TO HELL—ASSHOLE!" She cried. And just like that her open hand came flying towards his cheek. Before he could even react, she had left a burning red mark upon his face.

"FUCK ALL OF YOU!" He yelled. "The five of you are on your own. I am done! You're all a bunch of losers anyway. I never wanted to come on this damn trip. And now look where we're at, stranded in the middle of Bumfuck, Louisiana! I've had it! I'm done with all of you! I'd rather wander around aimlessly then deal with any of you! I'm leaving!"
"You can't walk around the Bayou in the middle of the night by yourself!", said Scott. "It's too dangerous!"
"Fuck off, Scott!", exclaimed Alan. "I'm tired of you always trying to fix everything, when you can't even fix yourself. Why don't you tell Angela how you really feel? For once in your life, be a man! Tell her that you're tired of being placed in the friend zone. Tell her how much you really want to fuck her!"
"Shut up!", cried Scott.
Angela couldn't take anymore, she had enough of their bickering. It seemed childish to her, but she placed her fingers in her ears. She then screamed at the top of her lungs.
"STOP IT! I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE! A WOMAN IS DEAD, AND OUR CAR HAS BEEN SABOTAGED. WE ARE OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE! AND ALL YOU CAN DO IS ARGUE ABOUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH EVERYONE ELSE!"
With that Angela the burst into tears, as Zoe and Cara tried to offer her some moral support. Both of them each trying to comfort Angela in a sisterly embrace.
"Stop being such a fuck wad!" Exclaimed Cara. "Can't you see she's been through a lot tonight?"
"Go to Hell!" Cried Alan. "All of you!" With that, he turned around and walked away.
"Alan!", cried Scott. "Comeback! It's too dangerous!"
"Let him go Scott." Said Bobby. "He's a big boy, you can't force him to stay. No matter how idiotic he might be acting. He's right, you can't fix everything. Especially someone who prefers to remain broken."
"Good riddance!", said Cara.
"You don't mean that.", said a teary eyed Angela.
"Yes I do." Replied Cara. "He's been such a jerk lately, I was planing on ending it when we all got back to New York anyway. I just hope he finds his way back without getting into anymore trouble."
"I'm sorry.", replied Angela. Cara furrowed her brow, and gave Angela a goofy smile.
"For what?", she asked.
"I don't know." Said Angela. "I just can't shake the feeling that I'm the one who caused this." Angela then began to chuckle.

"Maybe Alan's right? Maybe I would apologize if the world blew up tomorrow."
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Alan kept walking down the road, as he got further, and further away form the group.
Well, he thought, I've had many a brilliant ideas in my time, but this was not one of them. As he kept walking, the dark night sky began to envelop the area. He remembered that they were about twenty miles from the nearest town. What a bunch of idiots they all were? They should have just headed back to that town, to try and find the police. But instead they headed toward New Orleans. The diner where they ate dinner was open twenty four hours. If he had to he would just stay there all night.
Then all of a sudden, his luck began to change. Flashing red, and blue lights began to approach him. Alan waved down the police car, as the officer inside pulled up along side him.
"Are you lost son?", the officer asked.
"Oh thank god you're here!" Cried Alan. "A friend of mine found the murdered body of an old woman, but we couldn't call the police because there was something blocking the cell phone signal. And then our car broke down."
"Hop in the back son." Said the police officer. "You can take me to your friends, and then you can all come down to the station with me, and we'll file a report."
"But there's six of us." Said Alan.
"Don't worry." Replied the police officer, "I'll call for back up, you and your friends will be taken care of."
"Okay, great!" Said Alan, "Thanks Officer.
Maybe I'll look like a hero everyone, he thought, Maybe Cara will even forgive me?
Eagerly he got into the back of the police car. But as soon as he sat down, the back seat didn't feel right. It felt sticky, almost like he could barely move. As he lifted his hands, he noticed that they we stuck to the seat by strands of glue like webbing. Alan began to panic. What the fuck is going on?
"What this shit?" he cried. As he looked at the officer, he saw a tarantula with it's fangs piercing the officer's neck.
The officer then turned his head to face Alan, as he flashed his hapless prisoner wicked smile. With that, he began to laugh.
"Such a foolish young man." The officer quipped. "You can't even appreciate what you have. But then again, man has always been foolish. Like this officer that went wondering around places he didn't belong. He probably shouldn't have gone into the gas station alone. He really should have called for back up. It was so easy to subdue him, and he does provide me quite the convincing disguise. Unfortunately this dead body won't last much longer. Once I drain my little my puppet of all his brain fluid, well he'll no longer be able to operate. Fortunately I have a new puppet to control."
"Do-do you mean me?" Asked a terrified Alan.
"Of course," he replied. "After all, you'll be the prefect disguise."
"W-what are you talking about?" Alan asked him.
"So you can get me close to the one known a Cara." He replied.
"If you even think about harming her, I swear I'll—!" Alan began.
"You'll what?" replied the posted officer,"Kill me? I'm already dead! So now you care about her? Interesting? An hour ago she was a spoiled bitch that you were willing to just walk a way from. But now you feel the need to protect her. My master was right, she does deserve much better."
"What master?", cried Alan. "And how do you know what happened?"
"There are millions of us around the bayou. We know everything that goes on around here." He told him. " After our our leader's mother imprisoned him in the body of a tarantula. We waited patiently knowing someday he would return. The fire haired beauty, known as Angela, inadvertently released him form his prison. After he tasted her sweet blood, it had released him from his incarceration. We thought he he would return human."
"What do you mean you thought he'd return as a human?" Asked Alan.
He has become a spider god, a drider." He explained. "And Angela is his chosen mate, just as Cara will be one of mine. Cara's sweet blood shall release me form my prison as well. Then I too shall become a drider. Then eventually, like Angela and Zoe, Cara will become a drow—a spider goddess. All three will eventually be ripe for mating. And I will enjoy every moment of it. And you my friend will be dead. Done't worry I'll take extra special care of her. When I finish pleasing her, you know—the way you couldn't; she'll forget you ever even existed."

Grin the Cheat
There was a time when heroes roamed between the Four Great Cities. They fought for kingdoms and princesses and they lived and died by their valour. Or so the stories say. The way the minstrels sing it, everyone had a swashbuckling good time. Nowadays, buckles are rarely swashed. All the great beasts have been slain, all the great treasures unearthed. Princesses are few and far between — the ones worth fighting over, anyway — and the kingdoms have been divvied up between the sons of sons of sons of the heroes of old. No valour required. Frankly, the hero business is in a sorry state. Luckily for Grin the Cheat, thieving and murder are thriving as usual. If you have a moment, please vote for this story at Top Web Fiction. Sustaining the King's Life
On a secluded mountain situated upon a kingdom known as Feuersturm, resides a seemingly trifling cabin with an unlikely duo as its inhabitant—a witch, and her apprentice who presumably comes from a clan sought after by slave traders. Faustina is a sixteen-year-old girl who fled the slave market with the help of a sickly witch named Eula, who later on trained her as an apprentice for the span of seven years. Plagued with a mysterious disease for several years, Eula died despite the efforts Faustina had exerted to cure her; in her last breath, she left an odd request behind. "Sustain the king's life. This is your duty. Do not adhere to the prophecy." To which the odd plea shadowed a bizarre series of events, a consequential sentence, similar to that of a premonition. The same night the phrase was muttered, the chain of events followed: A warlock's intrusion to their home, with a peculiar yearning to resurrect Eula from the dead... and the king himself, asking for Faustina’s aid. ** 1-2 chapters a day (GMT+8) ** (The artwork belongs to me.
