《The Luna》Chapter 7- Red Forest

I'm sitting in the living room holding the four children and Sophia. Some of the adults are watching the windows. The mothers are mainly sitting with me watching the kids with me. A guard comes up asking if I need anything. I asure him that I am okay and he nods leaving my side and walking to a window. A while ago we all heard the loudest growl. A growl not even Jonathan would let out even if he was angry. The power was cut a few seconds after that. We all sit waiting for anything to come in, but all we can hear is fighting in the distance. I hearing growling getting closer to the house and I look towards a guard. He nods towards me and walks to a window peeking out. He looks back at me and shakes his head. I sigh knowing that things aren't going well. I fear for Jonathan not being able to be out there with him during this hard time.
*Renee.* Jonathan's voice comes into my head.
*Jonathan?! What has happened? Are you okay?* I ask paniced.
*Red Forest Pack is here.*
Shock runs through my body and everyones eyes fall onto me. I know i'm shaking, but its from anger, not fear. I've never liked the Red Forest Pack. Their Alpha is a cold hearted man. He has no respect for the humans because they are weaker than us. He is one of the people that believes that we should get rid of the humans. The only thing keeping him from doing so are our laws. If he didn't have to he wouldn't jold back from destroying the humans.
*What do you want me to do?* I ask.
*Run* Is all he says.
I don't have to be told twice. I tell everyone what Jonathan has said, but I refuse to let Jonathan fight this on his own. Not when I have all the energy to help fight. I know the other packs Alpha was killed so they fight with Jonathan, but they are still out numbered. I send two guards with the woman and children. I tell them to go to mountains. There is only one person that will help us through this. The guards nod. They tell me they will go to the cave to wait for the rest of us. I nod knowing that they will be safe. I kiss Sophia and Christina before watching them go out the back door. I look at the other two guards and the few men that are with me. I smile slightly,

"If you wish to leave you may. I am not asking any of you to stay and risk your lives for me."
"Luna, we would gladly stay here and fight with you." John, my Jonathan's close friend, says.
I nod and walk towards the front door. I open it and we all walk out. I look up at the sky as we walk through the pack village seeing the moon behind some clouds. I face the forest again and hear the many growls and howls. I hear Jonathan's growl the most which makes the fire inside me burn brighter. I start running with everyone behind me. Soon they shift, but I don't want to just yet. We enter the forest and now we aren't to far from all the fighting. A rouge comes out of the bushes and runs at me. I smile just as its tackled by John. I keep running with the guards at my sides. I see wolves ahead and spot Jonathan with the Alpha attacking him. They're both in their human forms. I hurry and kick the other Alpha in the side. He flies into a tree causing a loud crack to sound as the tree snaps and falls to the ground. Everyone stops fighting and stares. Some of the other pack run and help their Alpha up. He looks at me and smiles,
"And isn't it the one we have come for. Don't worry we aren't here to kill you. We simply want you as our Luna."
I smirk,
"If its not already clear I already have a pack."
He laughs and looks around at my pack,
"Not a very good one."
Growls sound from all around me and anger builds up,
"And what makes you think your pack is better?"
"Because it is." He says smiling agian.
I shake my head and look at Jonathan who is growling. I mind link him,
*I'm sorry, I couldn't just leave.*
Another growl comes from him and he doesn't reply to me. I know that he is just to angry, but he'll understand soon that I wasn't going to leave him. I'm about to say something when some arms grab me and pull me away. Jonathan growls and I shake my head at him to stop. He looks in my eyes and I wink. He looks confused for a split second before he realizes what I'm thinking.

"You see darling, your coming no matter what you think."
I growl lightly,
"See that's where your wrong." I look up and see the moon come from behind the clouds shinning its light down on me.
Its light sends energy swarming through me. My wolf welcomes it and I shift into my wolf form. I shake out my white fur and letting it shine under the moon light. I stand tall looking at the Alpha with fire burning behind my eyes. I hear ripping and cracking behind me before Jonathan stands beside me. I'm about to attack when I hear light howl and screaming. I reconize the howls coming from guards and the screams belonging to children. Without thinking I take off running in the direction of the screaming. My pack starts fighting to hold them off.
*What is it?* Jonathan asks inside of my head.
*The children I sent off with the others. Something is wrong.* I say back.
Jonathan and I run as fast as our bodies will allow through the forest towards our boarders. As we get close I see the guards in their wolf forms guarding the children. The parents are also in their wolf forms and the children are on their backs. We come up and attack the first rouge that I see. Jonathan gets another and I start biting anything that doesn't smell like my pack. A rouge bites me in the side and I pull back before he can cause any more damage. Another wolf comes on my other side biting into my leg. I howl in pain and fall to the ground biting and clawing at the wolf. A guard tackles the wolf off of me. I try standing before another wolf gets ontop of me and claws my stomach. I howl again and bite its neck. I rip away fur then go deeper latching onto flesh. I rip it away then kick the wolf away. I roll onto my stomach trying to regain my balance. Pain shoots through my leg and I howl falling to the ground. My howl catches the attention of another rouge who comes at me. I start kicking and clawing. Jonathan attacks him before I have to do anything more. He bites the rouge in the neck and it finally dies off. I look around and see that all the rouges are dead. Jonathan makes his way over to me. He licks my cheek and I turn human. The others turn human and Jonathan gives me a big shirt and some pants. I'm bleeding from my leg, arm and I scratches on my stomach. Jonathan cradles me in his arms and kisses my forehead before I close my eyes.
(So Red Forest isn't so good. What do you think of Renee's choice? Did she do the right thing by going to help Jonathan, or do you think she should've just ran away with the others when she had the chance? Leave your comments and don't forget to like!)

Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.
