《The Luna》Chapter 3- Trouble

Morning comes and I climb out of bed. Jonathan is already gone so I guess he is already in his study. I take a quick shower and get dressed before going into the kitchen. Christina, my friend, is already eating some cereal. She's only 15 so she hasn't shifted yet. I'm looking forward to the day when that finally happens.
"Morning Renee."
"Good Morning Christina."
"I'm supposed to take the children into the town today to go shopping for new clothes. Can I still do that?" She asks.
"Well, we had a small rouge problem last night, but Jonathan hasn't said anything about canceling it. So as far as I know you can still take them."
She smiles and nods lightly. Her eyes turn light gray as she mind links someone. When she's done she smiles and I hear running down the hall. I smile knowing its a child from how soft the foot steps sound. Sophia comes running in just as I'm turning around. She's only 6 years old. She's also my favorite. She is like my little helper always helping me with things around the pack. I would usually be bothered by how much she hangs around, but its fine by me because her mother died when she was 4 years old. I'll never forget the day. He mother left Sophia with a friend so she could go help some of the others in the forest just outside our territory. She was attacked along with four other people by a small pack of rouges. She was just one the ones that didn't make it. Sophia went into a long period where she didn't talk, drink, or eat anything. After a year she started talking and hanging around me. Now I consider one of my own. I think i consider all of the pack kids as my own. They all know they can come to me when ever they want.
"Luna! We're going to go shopping today in the town!" She yells.
I smile at her happiness, "Yes, and your going to be on your best behavior right?" I ask.
She smiles, "Yes, Luna."
I nod and kiss her cheek before lowering her back down to the ground. She runs back down the hall and I hear the front door open and close. Christina laughs,
"Renee, you are the best." She says.
"I try."
We both laugh and Jonathan comes in. He kisses my cheek and grabs a cup filling it up with coffee. Christina smiles and winks at me before getting up and silently leaving. Jonathan smiles at me once she's gone and wraps his arms around my waist. I laugh and drink some of his coffee. He smiles,
"If you wanted some you should've asked, I would've made you some."
"Nope, I just like drinking yours." I say.
He laughs and kisses my neck finding my mark again. I moan lightly and pull away from him pecking his lips before walking put of the kitchen. I go outside into the village and see Christina gathering up all the kids to go. They're all about to start walking to the forest when I walk up. I mind link Chris and Tom to come and find me. All the kids bow with respect. Christina does the same and I smile at the kids,

"Now everyone is to listen to everything that Christina says. No matter what happens you listen, okay." I say.
"Yes Luna." They say together.
Chris and Tom come up behind me,
"yes Luna?"
"Walk these kids to the boarder so they don't get hurt or anything, then report back to me once you are done."
"Yes Luna."
They all start walking away and I turn to go back to the pack house. There is supposed to be a meeting today and Jonathan said I have to attend. I hear some noise coming from inside one of the little stores we have inside the village. It sounds like arguing. I get closer and hear growling and quickly open the door. Just as I walk in two men rip into their wolf forms and start clawing at each other.
"Enough!" I yell using my authortiy in my voice.
One wolf backs down but the other keeps growling and slowing walking closer to the other wolf. I growl lightly to get his attention,
"Stand down." I growl.
He looks at me and growls. Then his eyes turn to a light blue for a split second before he backs down. I mind link Jose to come and take them away so nothing else gets started. Then I make sure everyone is okay, When Jose comes I tell him to find out why they we're fighting and if it needs to result in punishment. Then I go back into the pack house and into the meeting room. Jonathan and the others are already waiting for me,
"Sorry, little trouble in a store." I say.
"No problem Luna." One of our pack elders says.
We all take our seats and the meeting begins with the talk about the rouge attacks. How we don't understand why there are so many. None of the other packs are having such a big probelm with the rouges. Its almost like they are targeting only us. Some of the elders think we should track down the rouge camps and put an end to all, but some of the others say that we could lose our own doing that. I agree that we can't just go in and attack, but we can't wait around and see what happens either.
"Is there something they know that we don't?" An elder asks.
"We would know. Nothing goes on in this pack that I don't know about." Jonathan says.
'Maybe someone in our pack is wanted. We have rescued some rouges and allowed them into our pack. Maybe that is the problem."
I automatically think of Christina and shake my thought from my head.
"The rouges that are in our pack haven't shown any signs. I keep close watch everyday I think I would've noticed something." I say.
"You might not have noticed something." The guy to my right says.
"Because you have grown so close to some of the rouges here, you've blinded yourself from it." He says.

A low growl rumbles in my chest,
"It doesn't matter how close I am to someone. If I find out that you are a danger to anyone that I care about I will not flinch when it comes to killing them." I growl letting my wolf take over.
The elder stays quite for the rest of the meeting. He looks up and nods everyonce in a while to agree with stuff, but thats it. When the meeting is over and everyone leaves Jonathan pulls me into him.
"That was hot." He says.
I laugh and press my lips to his feeling the warmth through my body. When he pulls back we're both gasping for air. He smiles and kisses my cheek. I smile and laugh when he touches my waist in an awkward way. Then I feel something. Like panic rise up inside me. I close my eyes to try and find where it is coming from. Then all I see is Sophia screaming with the three other kids that went with her to the town to shop. Christina trying her best to protect them as I guy points a gun at them. I see other guys with guns pointed at the other people in the store. Its a robbery. I open my eyes to see Jonathan's confused and paniced face looking at me.
"Christina and the kids, their in trouble." I say,
"In the town?" He asks.
"Yes, they're in the middle of a robbery, and they've got guns." I say.
His eyes widden and he nods. He starts mind linking everyone and I hurry down the hall way. Chris and Tom are sitting in the livingroom talking when I walk in. I must have panic written all over my face because they completly change their moods when I walk in,
"What's wrong Luna?" Tom asks.
"Christina and children are being attacked in the town." I say in a rushed voice.
They nod without another word. Jonathan comes up behind me as I'm walking out the door with Chris and Tom at my sides. We go outside and the rest of the hunters have gathered. Jonathan quickly explains what's happened and we all start towards the forest. As we're getting close pain shoots through my side and I close my eyes. I see that the guy with the guy shoots Christina in the side and now the kids are gathered around her trying to help. The man with the gun is holding Sophia by her hair as she screams in pain. My wolf lets out a loud growl as anger over whelms me. I take off running through the forest with everyone behind me. When another pack member is hurt i'm not the only one that feels it. The whole pack hears it. We all run as fast as we can towards town and I know things aren't going to be pretty for the one that is holding Sophia. I run fast letting my wolf carry me evern faster. I havn't shifted yet so I can be able to get all the kids, plus I don't want to freak humans out. We get closer to the town and I can smell the kids and Christina even more now. That only powers my anger as I run even faster. We all burst out of the forst running in front of cars. I hear screeching tires and people honk at us. Jonathan growls at some of the members not to attack to the humans honking and I get a mind link from Sophia,
*Renee, they shot her! They're gonna kill us! Renee help!* Her voice echos in my head.
I growl and run pushing myself and wolf to carry me faster. I see the store they're in just ahead of us. People stare at us as we run by and I hear screams from inside the store. I see the guy with gun slap Sophia while he's holding her. I start shaking as the anger builds and my wolf fights to be let out. I hear Jonathan tell me not too, but its too late. I rip into my wolf and run faster than I was before. humans scream when they see me and run away from me. I hear the others turn into their wolfs behind me. I run fast and crash through the window of the store. Everyone screams except for the kids and Christina. I crash into the guy holding Sophia. He drops her and the gun. I start tearing him apart not caring who he is. Before a guy near by can shoot me I see Jonathan crash into him taking him down. The others take out the rest of the guys and I back away from the guy that was holding Sophia knowing he is dead. Killing humans is much easier than killing rouges because they're not strong enough to put up a fight. I hurry over to Sophia and she nods letting me know she is okay. I nod to Chris and he runs out of the store before returning with enough shorts and shirts for everyone. Everyone except Chris, Jose and Tom shift back to help carry Christina. I help the kids and we all get in the car Christina drove here. As we drive away I see Humans that have taken pictures and recorded us and I just know we're all in for it.
