《What I Want ✔》Bonus Chapter - Xavier

"Xavier please. Give me one more chance."
"I don't think so."
"I'm sorry about everything. It was a mistake."
"Fucking that designer was a mistake? Parisa be serious right now. That wasn't a mistake and we both know it."
"B-But I love you Xavier." She whispered as she took a step towards me.
"Well I guess that love wasn't enough then. You cheated on me. You had no reason to but you did. Do you know how much I love you? Do you know how much I care? Did you ever stop to think about how I would feel? I gave you every single thing I could. I did all I could do for you but it still wasn't enough. I don't know what's wrong with you. I can't say anything else about this." I sighed.
"Please, let's just talk about this. I'm begging you. I want us to be together. I don't wanna give up on us. I'm so sorry Xavier. Please." She begged as she tried to hug me.
I gently moved her away and took a step back.
"I think the least you could do is respect me by leaving me alone. Parisa, I want nothing to do with you."
Her lips quivered and she wiped the tears from her eyes.
"I understand but just please call me when you're ready to talk."
"I don't think I want to talk to you. There's no way I can learn to trust you again. I don't know how I would be able to do that."
She took a deep breath, grabbed her purse and walked to the elevator.
When she got into the elevator, she turned and looked at me.
Those were the eyes I once fell for but now I couldn't look at her the same. There's just no way we could be together after what she did.
I went to my apartment and took a long shower. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Parisa and I were no longer together. This was just too painful. All I wanted was for us to be together. To tell each other everything.
If she wanted to leave me, she could have said so. Also the very same guy, my own friend, fucked my girlfriend. After he agreed to give her a job they ended up fucking each other.

Kennedy you're a real dick for that.
Checking my phone, I saw a lot of texts from Parisa and Kennedy.
Oh please! They can go to hell and rot.
All those nights I waited up for her, when she was doing "photoshoots", she was actually with Kennedy.
I sighed as I went to the kitchen. I didn't really feel like eating anything. I felt so empty.
Grabbing my keys, I decided to drive over to the bridge where she and I would hang out. I know it's stupid to go to a place where you have memories about someone but I couldn't help it. Maybe I wanted to feel vulnerable for a while.
As I walked along the bridge I realised it was fairly empty. It was pretty late. The lamps beautifully lit the bridge. Parisa and I would come here all the time and talk for hours.
I've had many girlfriends in the past so why does this hurt so badly? Maybe it's because I was planning to marry her.
I dipped in my pocket and took the box out. I was planning on proposing to her until someone who worked at the agency sent me the pictures of her and Kennedy. There was even a video of them making out with each other.
She admitted that she actually cheated. She couldn't even deny it. The evidence was there. Kennedy apologized when I sent him the videos and said that it was just a short fling and they got caught up in the moment. I didn't care because it didn't matter anymore. What's done is done.
"Xavier, is that you?" I heard a feminine voice say.
Turning around I came face to face with Anya.
She was my best friend in high school but I hadn't seen her in such a long time. We also went to university together.
She was wearing a beanie and her brown hair cascaded down her back. A scarf was wrapped around her neck and she carried a small purse in her hand. She was clothed in denim jeans, a dark blue jacket and black boots. She looked really nice.
"It's been so long since I've seen you." I said.
"Same here. After university you disappeared and I never saw you again."
"I went back to America for some time. I had no idea what I wanted to do. What about you?"

"It was the oppose for me. I went into modeling and at first it was hard and I was treated like shit but I eventually landed some good gigs."
"That's great to hear. I'm so happy for you."
"Look at you, handsome as always." She smiled.
"You look great too." I complimented her.
"Thanks, no more geeky glasses." She joked.
"Those geeky glasses were pretty cute on you though." I chuckled and she blushed.
"Thanks Xavier. I still wear them sometimes." She whispered like she was telling me a secret.
"We can't let anyone know then." I whispered back.
"No we can't!" Laughter spilled from the both of us as we stood under the lights.
I forgot how great it was to hang out with her.
"You're gonna propose to someone?" She pointed to the box in my hand.
"Oh, yeah I was. Let's just say it didn't work out." I said awkwardly as I put the box in my pocket.
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"It's alright. I'm coping. What about you though?"
"I haven't met anyone I liked yet." She said.
"You'll find someone soon. Although there isn't any rush." I smiled and she nodded.
"Yeah I'm taking my time."
An awkward silence fell over us.
"I'm sorry. We were best friends and I just left you abruptly. I often thought about you. I shouldn't have done that. I should have kept contact." I apologised.
"It did hurt but I assumed you had your reasons."
"It wasn't right and fair to you."
"We can put that behind us. Don't beat yourself up about it."
"Yeah let's start over." I said and she smiled.
"I'd like that."
"Well it was really nice catching up. I have to get going." She smiled.
"It was nice seeing you."
"You too Xavier."
We exchanged numbers and she started walking away. She reached a little way before I yelled causing her to turn around.
"Why don't we grab coffee next time?" I yelled.
"Yeah I'd like that. I'm holding you to it." She smiled.
"Ofcourse!"
I turned and stared over the bridge. Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming towards me.
"You probably aren't going home now so here take this. It's cold out." She took off her scarf and placed it around my neck.
"Stay warm." Her breath fanned against my neck as she fixed it.
"Thank you Anya."
"Until next time Xavier."
~
But there wasn't a next time. I thought about what could have been.
I felt my life was flashing before my eyes as I laid in the basement of Haden's house. Blood oozed from my head. I was losing so much blood.
I fiddled with the scarf around my neck and closed my eyes. The very same one Anya gave me. I wondered what she was doing right now. We chatted a couple days ago. I told her that I was going to meet her next week.
I also remembered the call I got a few days ago from Parisa telling me that she was pregnant. I didn't know how to feel. I couldn't tell if she was pregnant or lying just to get back with me.
I would be happy to have a little one and I would love them regardless but I didn't know how genuine Parisa was.
If she's actually telling the truth then I want to be a part of my baby's life.
But it doesn't look like that's a possibility right now.
I didn't think that Haden would have done something like this. I didn't think he would actually try to kill me. I hope Aubrey gets out of here alive. I pray that someone finds her and rescues her from Haden.
I got lightheaded as I stared at the roof. I'm about to die, that much I knew. I would never forgive Haden for this.
As my eyes closed I thought about my parents. I hope they'd be okay. I thought about my friends. I thought about everyone I ever loved and cared for.
I wished I could have done more. My body felt numb and my eyes were slowly closing as much as I tried to fight it. I wish I could have saved Aubrey. But instead I'm here lying on the ground. I heard yelling upstairs but I couldn't tell the voices apart.
I'm sorry Aubrey.
I'm sorry mom and dad.
I'm sorry Anya.
I'm sorry little one. I didn't get to meet you.
I wish I could have done more.
