《Her Racing Heart (Part 1)》48

Meera was looking at him like almost glaring, but he didn't mind her gaze and glares and was busy talking with Arjun on the phone.
After packing the bags Meera asked him why all of a sudden they are going to their grandparents' house. Vikranth simply replied, "They wanted to see us". Meera didn't ask anything other than that, she felt it is also a good thing to know more about his family in his own way.
After ending the call Vikranth glanced her sideways. He smiled inwardly that Meera can never notice.
In their seven months of marriage, Vikranth tried his best level to prove his love but still, she can't able to accept him. He felt at least being away from her may change her heart.
And Vikranth felt very interesting to act this way since she's kind of a cute when she glares.
He thought there's something in her heart that is so difficult for her to express and that's the only thing keeping her away from him. And Vikranth made his mind to wait for her until she can able to open up with him.
When they reached airport Vikranth headed inside carrying the bags and Meera followed him. After two straight hours of travel, they came to Madurai airport from where they went to his dad's farmhouse in Theni where his grandparents are living. And it almost turned evening when they reached there.
It is a native place for Vikranth's dad. Where they are having so many agriculture farms and estates.
The car stopped before an old yet beautiful bungalow but before getting down from the car, Meera looked Vikranth. "Whose parents are they, your mom or dad?" she asked leaving her anger.
"My dad's parents", he replied and got down in a rush.
She followed him and people who are standing before the house where eyeing them from head to toe.
He rushed in and called out his grandma a few times. That time a seventy-something old person, who looked very similar to Vikranth's dad came out from the room adjacent to the staircase.
"Grandpa, how is she?"
"Who are you asking Vikranth?" his grandma questioned with confusion.
"Grandma? She said that she is too ill and wanted to see me"
"Oh..." with a smile "Vikranth she again deceived you. She is very healthy and fine", his grandpa replied and turned his gaze to Meera.
"Vikranth is this your wife?" he asked in excitement.
"Yes she's my wife grandpa", Meera smiled and touched his feet to get blessings.
"God bless you, my dear, get up", he said caressing her head.
"Vikranth!!" Meera turned her gaze hearing that lady's voice. A sixty-something woman with a face full of surprise stood before them.
"Grandma!!" Vikranth exclaimed and went near her.
"Why you lied?"
But she remained silent and turned her gaze to Meera.
"You're Meera right!! Aww my daughter in law so beautiful", she said and escaped from her grandson.
Meera smiled and she got blessings from her too. And grandma instantly liked her politeness and respect.
"Grandma why you did this?" Vikranth again asked coming in front of her.
"Vikranth I have been asking you to bring Meera here but you not even listen to my words just like your dad. So I did this having no other options", she said looking down.
Vikranth sighed unable to scold his grandma and Meera looked at all these things with a smile on her face, she found her so enthusiastic.

"Ok, leave it. You came here right!! Stay with me for ten days", she casually said and looked Meera.
"What Meera you are staying here right", Meera looked Vikranth and he nodded his head as yes.
"Ok grandma we will stay, but for just a week", Vikranth said.
After that Vikranth's Grandpa asked the servants to arrange a room upstairs for them to stay. Vikranth took a tour around the house since he came here after two years, he was so eager to find what are the things have changed in this house.
Finishing their dinner grandma just trapped Meera with her. She asked Meera about her health and whether she's comfortable with their family.
Meera was shocked and embarrassed when grandma revealed that she knows everything that happened between Vikranth and Meera, but she didn't say any hurt words instead gave comfort to Meera to be strong.
Meera almost cried when grandma gave an assurance that she's no longer to feel about the past and about the child. She emboldens Meera by her elderly advice.
When they were so engrossed in talking Vikranth came interrupted them.
"Meera", he signaled her to come with him. She awkwardly looked grandma for permission to leave and understanding this she asked Meera to go and take enough rest.
She went up and was so deep in her thoughts about Vikranth.
It is kind of confusing. He is hating his dad but he's loving his grandparents. Then how?? Ah... it is so confusing.
Meera being silent will not going to give anything, ask him whatever you wanted, her heart advised understanding her doubts.
She found him standing on the balcony, with a strong mindset Meera reached him.
"I need to talk with you", she said and Vikranth looked her furrowing his eyebrows.
"Ok come inside and I too wanted to talk with you" he went inside the room adjacent to the balcony.
It is a very big room with only a small cot that is present at the corner. Their bags are placed in the cupboard and the room looks almost empty.
Vikranth seated on the cot and Meera instantly sat beside him. "What do you want to talk to me", he asked.
Grabbing all her courage she decided to fight. "Why you're avoiding me Vikranth? What I did?" she asked.
"I never avoided you Meera"
"Don't lie I know you're avoiding me and hiding everything from me"
"Hiding?"
"Give your phone"
"Why"
"Give!!"
Vikranth gave his phone and Meera immediately unlocked the password that surprised Vikranth. She showed a picture of his family photo.
"Who is that boy Vikranth?" she asked and Vikranth looked at her with a kind of anger and shock.
"How did you know my password?"
"That is my birthday and month. It is not very difficult Vikranth, you're a fool who doesn't know how to create a password", hearing that Vikranth clenched his jaw.
"I am sorry for checking your phone without your permission", she apologized for seeing his cold expression, but Vikranth remained silent.
"Vikranth... are you really loving me", she asked holding his hand.
He gave a helpless look. "If you're really loving me, then tell me everything about you. I want to know you"
"When you found this", Vikranth questioned removing his hand from hers.
"On that match, you gave your wallet and phone"
"Then why you didn't ask that day itself?" he questioned again with rage.
Meera scared but she's determined to continue what she's doing now.

"I.... thought...you will scold me since whenever I asked about your mom you tried to avoid me. And asking this may again arise some problems between us and me don't want that"
"Then why you are asking now?"
"Because... !!" she instantly replied without hesitation.
Vikranth's eyes were wide and looking at her with unbelievable emotion. "", she cried and embraced him.
Vikranth's breath hitched and his lips curled into a smile. He pulled her to face him. Her tears rolled down to her cheeks. After a moment of silence,
"I want to love you, I want to know everything about you. I want to be a part of you Vikranth, please don't hide anything like in the past", Meera confessed.
Vikranth looked down and after leaving out a sigh, his gaze looked her eyes.
"The boy you saw in that picture is my little brother Vimal, but he's no more", his voice sounded heavy and broken.
"My mom lost her parents at a young age and she bought up by her grandparents. And they are a distance relative to my grandfather. She's arranged to marry my dad when she was just seventeen when he joined in politics.
But they were happy and my mom was a very kind and innocent woman just like you, and she loved my dad than anyone in this world.
When I was born my father become the MLA and soon he compelled my mom to come out of this Village. We shifted entirely and when I was six my mom again got pregnant with my brother Vimal, but he was born with a birth defect ASD(Atrial septal defect).
The doctors said he won't live for more than five years. But my mom was not ready to lose her kid that easily. She has taken great care over Vimal and even I too loved him, he's very talkative and lovable. I still have those memories of playing with him Meera.
But my dad was very busy earning money and fame than looking after his family. I started to hate my father whenever he fights with my mom. She will cry hugging me and my brother that is what a helpless woman can do right.
As years passed Vimal's health got worse. My mom always takes him to the hospital but my dad not even bothered about us. Sometimes my grandma stayed with us to look after me since my mom always stayed with him. But my mom never failed to show her love for me.
One day Vimal's condition turned very critical and doctors tried their best to save him, but everything became useless on that day, and my dad came too late to see his dying son.
On that day a part of her died for marrying a man like him. I still remember when she cried holding my dad's shirt unable to show her anger toward him.
After that everything shattered. My mom started to hallucinate my brother's image and started talking with that. Even I am her son but she cared more about Vimal because he resembled a lot like my dad than me.
That time my grandma came to know my dad is having an affair with other women and she's pregnant for five months. He married when my mom was still alive.
Knowing about this my mom became totally insane. After a week she died in the sleep due to heart attack and extreme depression. Before her death I still remember that day, she asked me to study hard and smile always.
My mom died and I felt everything is gone from my life at the age of twelve.
My dad felt sorry and cried at her funeral but I hated to see that. That moment I decided I should never care for that man. But you know what he's a very lucky guy who got everything.
I hated to stay with him and I stayed here with my grandma for a year and didn't attend school for that whole year. Then my grandpa joined me in a school in Delhi. I studied there and I went to London to do my engineering degree.
Living alone without care made me wild and no one is there to show love for me Meera. I entirely changed from my old self", Meera's uncontrollable tears rolling from her eyes.
"When the first time I saw you in that shop, you're consoling that crying baby, you reminded my mom Meera. I felt really suffocated to see you and at the time I felt a strange attraction towards you" Vikranth answered all her doubts with expressing his emotions and pain that he has hidden in his heart.
Meera eyes were already drained of tears. She can't believe that this much thing happened in his life. And she felt so sad for his mom. Picturizing his mom's pain made Meera cry hard.
"I didn't purposely hide this from you. I don't want to remind the things that haunted me for years"
"Forgive me Meera, for failing to understand the love that I had on you, I am a fool at that time. I think my mom definitely hate me for this", Vikranth said and his eyes welled with tears but he didn't drop a single tear.
"Don't be sorry Vikranth, I forgave you a long time before so don't ask that again", she said and cried. This time Vikranth embraced her.
"I sometimes hate myself because I am somewhat similar to my dad, the way I think and the way I acted with you. And even I too failed to protect our child just like how he failed to protect my mom and my brother", he said heartbroken.
"No Vikranth. You are not like your dad, you did nothing wrong. Forgive reminding for this and let's live happily", she said and hugged him again.
Vikranth nodded his head and hugged her as tight as he could.
They were like that for some time until Vikranth broke the hug and looked Meera. "From now on don't cry for anything, I hate myself to see that", he said and Meera nodded her head.
He took the water bottle from the table and gave that to her. After having some Meera handed to him. She laid on the bed giving space for him and Vikranth laid facing her.
"Haven't you seen your picture I have taken on that night", he asked.
Meera smiled, "I saw"
"Did you know what I did that night?"
Meera alluded as No. "Do you want to know???" he asked with a smirk.
Meera looked at him unable to answer. He yanked Meera's waist close to him by making their lips almost brushing each other.
Suddenly Meera's heart rate increased looking his black orbs so close and feeling his breath near her lips.
"I did this!!" he said before slamming his lips on hers.
