KADUNA, NIGERIA

"mama I'll be back next week right?" the young girl said to her mum opening her mouth widely showing her beautiful set of white teeth,

"yes you'll habibty, make sure you respect your aunt and uncle" her mum said adjusting the hijab she wore to cover her hair fully.

"mum I will miss you so much" the young girl said sadly to her mum,

"kar ki damu (don't worry), I'll make sure we talk on the phone everyday" her mum replied giving her a large smile, she was someone that doesn't like to have any of her children out of her sight for even a moment but she didn't have any choice.

"kun gama (are you done)" the girl's father asked from where he was standing close to the door checking his wrist watch,

"ehh (yes)" the girl's mum replied giving the last finishes to her beautiful daughter,

"be a good girl" the mother said as she handed the girl over to her father.

"baba will ya idris and ya noor join me over there if they come back from school?" the girl asked her father inquisitively as they got out of the house,

"maybe, I'm not sure yet" the father answered quenching the little girl's curiosity,

The girl and her father walked hand in hand till they got to the parking lot, he helped the girl into the back seat of a black suv and tightened her seat belt,

"don't miss baba too much" he said smiling widely at the girl,

"I promise I won't" she said showing him her pinky finger as a sign to seal her promise.

"mallam musa, safe journey" the father said to the driver in the front of the car.

The girl waved to her father through the tinted glass till he was out of sight.
