" What?" I heard myself gasp out, I look up at him..I knew my eyes looked like it was about to pop...he cupped my face in his hands.." I said I love you Ariel" he repeat.

Shutting my eyes..I felt a tear slip out. Removing my face from his palms ..I shook my head...no this can't be.. covering my face with my palms...I cried...I really wanted to believe him..my heart wanted to believe him but he had proved to the highest length that he didn't love me and suddenly he loved me?

Ar-Ariel..I'm sorry. Is it something I said.. please don't cry ..I-I am sorry" he stuttered out.. wiping my tears "you don't mean that Jared..you don't need to lie to make me happy ok..stop lying to me. We have been through enough and I just want us to spend the remaining little time I have here in peace" I whispered with my head down.

" Ariel, I'm saying the truth but I won't force you to believe me...I don't deserve for you to believe me..let us call a truce" he said... looking up at him confused "truce?" I asked.. "yes, can you try for us to be at least friends...as you said let's stop all the arguments..I want you to be happy Ariel so I wouldn't force you..all I ask is just give me the chance to be a friend to you since I failed so much at being your mate" he said taking my hands softly in his.

" Of course ..I totally agree with you" I said smiling up at him.... stretching my right handout for a hand shake "friends?" I said to him smiling ..he returned my smile "friends" he confirmed as he shook my hand.

After a very long week at Alpha Maxson's pack and a long week of Jared fussing over every little thing... We finally returned home.. Jared was very attentive to me and my needs. Till now whatever he does still surprise me.. maybe after a long time seeing him not pay attention to me.. it just felt strange and surprising when ever he does something for me..

It's been two months since we decided to be friends and all has been well... He has been very sweet to me and although sometimes my mind goes back to that night he told me he loved me... I just couldn't take the risk at getting hurt again... Sometimes he stares at me when he thinks I'm not looking and he brings food to me and gives me a foot rob here and there.. if only this was how it was from the beginning..

I sigh as I rubbed my now five months baby bump as I stood by the verandah ... Only two more months before the baby arrive and I have to leave... My heart felt heavy.. I would be leaving my baby just like when I grew up in the orphanage without no parents... I hate to do that to my baby. Maybe I should talk to Jared and ask for maybe a yearly permit to visit my baby.. I know he'd never let me take the baby with me... It was his heir after all..

"What are you doing out here in the cold?" Jared whispered in my ear...I jumped in fright ... glaring at him "don't do that" I scolded ...he laughed and his eyes brightened ...it felt good to see him like this "sorry... it's cold. Why don't you come in and watch a movie with me? " He said. Smiling, I nodded " ok, let's go" I said taking his hand suddenly feeling excited.

Mid way into the movie..the baby kicked and as usual it surprised me ..I still haven't gotten use to the feeling.. Jared stared at me " is everything alright Ariely?" He asked.. he had started calling me Ariely at some point and I liked it because it made me feel like I was special to him...smiling up at him "the baby kicked" I said. He smiled at me ..

"please can I feel it?" He asked so sweetly..it's the first time he was asking to feel the baby..I felt he was skeptical about asking before because he didn't want to upset me ..."go ahead" I said taking his hand and placing it on my bump.. just then the baby kicked...Jared smiled a full blown smile as he looked at me amazed "our baby kicked" he chuckled sounding over joyed ...I just smiled at him

Hearing my stomach rumble..I laughed "it's eating time" I said standing to go to the kitchen..as usual Jared was right behind me ... following me like a lost puppy.. as I moved to take some ingredients to make pasta, Jared grabbed it right out of my hands " I will make it for you" he said moving to the gas cooker...

While he cooked I just stared at him..it still felt strange seeing him do things for me.

"Jared ,why are you doing all this?" I asked out of the blues..he smiled at me "because I realized though late that you are important to me" he said... looking down I asked..." Because of the baby right?" I asked feeling insecure..

He turned off the gas and walked up to me taking my hands..we stared at each other " in the beginning...it was all about the baby..I won't deny it Ariely..but now it not about the baby any more.. I really ..really do care about you" he whispered to me resting his forehead on mine..

" let me prove it to you Ariely....stay... After the baby comes please stay with us" he said staring into my eyes.
