She looked at me confused before tugging her hands out of mine... Looking elsewhere she asked " what's it? ".. Clearing my throat, I awkwardly scratched the back of my neck " em.. The thing is - the thing is alpha Maxson invited all the alphas and their mates to his wedding anniversary party.. And I wanted to ask if you can come with me.. " I said looking at her hopefully

She looked at me more confused "must I really go with you Jared.. There are a lot of women that would be willing to tag--" I interrupted her before she could finish " but Ariel non of them are my mate.. And I can only go with my mate which is you" I tried explaining to her. Still looking hesitant about the idea " but can't you go alone?.. I don't think there would be much need for me there" she said.

Cautiously taking her hands in mine " please Ariel , I need you there. It would be disrespectful to show up alone to alpha Maxson's party and we have been trying to form an alliance with his pack.. This is an opportunity for the pack Ariel" I softly begged her. Part been a lie as the alliance was made the week before... But she didn't need to know that now.

She sighed "I really don't want to go anywhere with you Jared but since I would be leaving anyways.. I will consider it my last act as a Luna of this pack " she said.. Ouch.. That stung.. It was like she was reminding me that I had limited time, which I did. I must have zoned out because I felt the sparks before I saw her hands on chest "Jared are you alright?.... I just asked you something" she said with her sweet soft voice.. It made me want to just grab her and kiss her senseless.

I mentally faced palmed myself... Jared what the hell are you thinking.. "yes sorry, I zoned out for a bit.. What was it you asked?" I said.. Taking a step back away from me she looked at every other thing but me. "when is the party and how many days are we staying " she asked.. It took almost all myself control not to bring her back to me.. Clenching my hands "we leave next week and we are staying for three days". Nodding her head "OK.. I will be ready by then.. If that's all, bye Jared" she said walking away never glancing even once.

I reached out to bring her back to me but I withheld myself... I had no right but man did it hurt.

Soon the day for our departure came . I helped Ariel carry her things to the car after a long argument about her not needing my help but I obviously won. Finally settled my beta and gamma sat in the front as they were accompanying us, while I and Ariel sat at the far ends of the back seat.

I started at her longingly as she looked out the window, I knew she was trying to avoid talking to me.. Her body was so tense.. I sighed sadly.. Nate must have noticed the mood in the car and tried to lighten it...

"Well ain't this car so annoyingly quite... Oh Gaddd why do I have to be stuck with such boring people" he said dramatically. Ariel chuckled at that and I found myself smiling at her.. She was so pretty and adorable.. "what do you say guys, let's play I spy with my one eyes?... You in Ari? Jared?" he said turning to look at us.

Ariel nodded.. So I happily nodded to.. Clapping his hands like a little kid, Nate practically screamed "Okay let me go first, let me go first".. Ariel laughed "okay , go ahead"... . " I spy with my one eye, something red" he said.. Ariel looked around and even outside the window trying to find what it was.. Even I made a little effort to do so to.

Smiling "come on Nate, there is nothing red around.. That's cheating " she said.. Nate gave a sly smirk "but your hair is red Ari" he said and busted out laughing at the look on Ariel face when she remembered that indeed her hair was red...she laughed along with him and I was just happy that she was happy.

Suddenly she clutched her stomach and whimpered ..moving closer to her "Ariel what is wrong? Do you feel any pain in your stomach " I asked frantically.

Raising her skirt a little, she called my name panicked .

"Jared?.... Jared... oh my God.. Blood.. I'm bleeding Jared " she looked at me her eyes filled with panicked tears.
