My eyes were tightly closed waiting for the hit..i clutched my stomach to protect my pup.. Wait I can't get attached to this pup.. My wolf felt saddened by that but didn't say anything... Waiting and waiting but nothing happened... Opening my eyes slowly, I was met with the very naked sight of my mate as he gazed at me with concern...

Still in shock I didn't know when he took me into his arms muttering soft apologies .. I could still feel the spark and I was so close to melting in his arms when Derek clear his throat.. Coming back to my senses I pushed away from him... " what's wrong Jared ? You almost killed us" my voice cracked still in shock.. Jared had a frown in his face " I would never hurt you... You are my mate" he said looking at me guiltily

" Then why did u come at us like that? " I asked looking him straight in the eyes.. I could see his emotions staring at me... Anger.. Disappointment..hurt but what stood out the most was the heart clenching sadness in his eyes "I.. I" he muttered bowing his head " I'm so sorry Ariel " he voice sounding like a broken person.. He turned from us and began to walk away with a clenched fist and tensed movement..

The scary thing was that it took everything in me not to comfort him.. To go after him and find out what was wrong...
